Player Outlook
Brissett turned into a league-winning Fantasy quarterback in 2025, and we'll see what he does for an encore in 2026. He's not worth drafting in most one-quarterback leagues, but he's a mid-round selection in multiple-QB formats. First, we have to make sure Brissett shows up for training camp and is ready to lead Arizona's offense after issues with his contract during the offseason. If everything is fine and Brissett is ready for Week 1, then he could be a surprise Fantasy option once again. Last year, Brissett took over for Kyler Murray in Week 6 and scored at least 20.5 Fantasy points in 10 of 12 games, and Brissett averaged 22.8 Fantasy points per game over that span. He's 33 and has been a backup for most of his career, but the Cardinals are giving him the chance to start in 2026. That said, any struggles or prolonged losing streak could lead Arizona to replace Brissett with either Carson Beck or Gardner Minshew, so keep that in mind. But the Cardinals are loaded offensively with Trey McBride, Marvin Harrison Jr., Michael Wilson and Jeremiyah Love, so Brissett should have the chance to produce Fantasy points. Keep an eye on his contract status, and Brissett could again be useful for Fantasy managers in 2026.

  • Cardinals' Jacoby Brissett: Coach won't name starting QB

Cardinals head coach Mike LaFleur declined Wednesday to name a starting quarterback, though Brissett reported for the start of mandatory minicamp on Monday, Bo Brack of GoPHNX.com reports. LaFleur's lack of an answer when asked about Arizona's starting quarterback may partially be posturing, after Brissett held out of voluntary workouts earlier in the offseason due to dissatisfaction with his current contract. It wouldn't be out of the question, however, for the Cardinals to host a competition that includes backup Gardner Minshew and rookie third-rounder Carson Beck if the team suspects Brissett will enact a "hold in" as the offseason progresses. Brissett is heading into the final season of his two-year deal and is slated to carry a $4.88 million salary in 2026. Earlier in the offseason, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN reports that Arizona informed Brissett (who was in attendance for Tuesday's minicamp practice but did not participate) he would be the team's starter for 2026.

  • Cardinals' Jacoby Brissett: Reports for mandatory minicamp

Brissett reported for the start of mandatory minicamp Monday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Brissett would've been subject to fines if he didn't show up for minicamp after he stayed away from the Cardinals during voluntary workouts earlier this offseason. It's unclear if Brissett is giving up on his quest for more money or if he'll "hold in" during minicamp and training camp in an effort to squeeze some guaranteed money out of Arizona. The veteran quarterback is in the final year of a two-year deal and is set to collect a $4.88 million salary for 2026 as his contract currently stands.

  • Cardinals' Jacoby Brissett: Expected to report to minicamp

Brissett is expected to report to the Cardinals' minicamp this week, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports. Brissett has been away from the team as he's been holding out to get an increase in pay for the 2026 campaign, but the quarterback will at least be in attendance this week. It's unclear how much he'll participate, but his arrival is still a notable development. Brissett is coming off of a 2025 campaign during which he completed 65 percent of his passes for 3,366 yards and 23 touchdowns while throwing eight interceptions over 14 contests with Arizona.

  • Cardinals' Jacoby Brissett: Remains away from team

Brissett was not present for the first day of the final week of Arizona's voluntary OTAs on Monday, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports. Brissett continues to hold out as he seeks a reworked contract for 2026. He's yet to show up at Arizona's OTAs, though the sessions so far have been voluntary. However, the Cardinals begin mandatory minicamp next Monday, so the situation could escalate if Brissett remains absent then (assuming he hasn't gotten the new deal he desires).

  • Cardinals' Jacoby Brissett: Still far from new deal

The Cardinals and Brissett haven't made inroads on an amended contract, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports. According to Weinfuss, the two sides are "significantly" far apart on a new deal, and Brissett will continue to stay away from Arizona's offseason program without one, per Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com. Brissett is seeking an increase in the $1.5 million in guarantees on his current contract for 2026, which likely was spurred by the combination of his output from his 12 starts last season (3,366 yards, 23 touchdowns and eight interceptions on 65.1 percent passing), the fact offseason signing Gardner Minshew has $5.14 million in guaranteed money for the upcoming campaign, and the Cardinals drafting Carson Beck in the third round of this year's draft. The situation could gain clarity as the team draws closer to mandatory minicamp (June 8-10), as Brissett's continued absence then would be subject to fines.

  • Cardinals' Jacoby Brissett: Not present for voluntary OTAs

Brissett was not present for the start of voluntary OTAs on Monday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. The veteran quarterback has stayed away from the team this offseason, as he's seeking a raise for the 2026 campaign. Coming off a career year in 2025, which saw Brissett complete 315 of 485 passes (64.9 percent) for 3,366 yards, 23 touchdowns and eight interceptions, the 33-year-old is looking for more money and possibly more years on his contract. Brissett currently is scheduled to collect $5.44 million in 2026, which would put him 26th at the quarterback position. There's been no indication that Arizona is actively discussing a new deal with Brissett. The Cardinals are in a full-blown rebuild and used a third-round pick on Carson Beck last month after signing Gardner Minshew in free agency. Even if Brissett opens the season as Arizona's starter, there's a good chance Beck makes rookie-year starts.

  • Cardinals' Jacoby Brissett: Still absent, but dialogue ongoing

Brissett remains absent from the Cardinals' offseason program, but coach Mike LaFleur said Friday that the veteran quarterback has "played a lot of football, and we're in communication," Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports. "He knows what the expectation is," LaFleur added. In the wake of Arizona releasing Kyler Murray and then signing only Gardner Minshew in free agency, Brissett wasn't given an assurances that he'd be the team's starting signal-caller in 2026, per Weinfuss. Brissett thus has stayed away from the early stages of the offseason program as he seeks a raise to starter-level money, as his current contract includes just $1.5 million in guarantees, while Minshew's deal ensures $5.14 million this season. Brissett went only 1-11 as the Cardinals' starting QB in 2025, but he took advantage of high volume in those contests, completing 315 of 484 passes (65.1 percent) for 3,366 yards, 23 touchdowns and eight interceptions. The team added Carson Beck in the third round of this year's draft, but according to Weinfuss's report Friday, Brissett has been informed by the Cards that he's the starter for 2026.

  • Cardinals' Jacoby Brissett: Seeking raise to starter-level pay

Brissett isn't attending Phase 1 of Arizona's offseason program and is seeking an extension that will pay him commensurate with being a starting quarterback, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Brissett is scheduled to make $9.06 million in 2026 but has only $1.5 million in guaranteed money in his current contract. The Cardinals appear willing to address Brissett's request, per Rapoport. Until a new deal is agreed upon, the 33-year-old quarterback will likely remain away from team activities. Brissett started the final 12 games of the 2025 season for the Cardinals and is expected to serve as the team's starting quarterback in 2026, though he posted an uninspiring 1-11 record as a starter last season.

  • Cardinals' Jacoby Brissett: Expected to start over Minshew

Brissett is on track to keep his starting job after the Cardinals settled for Gardner Minshew as their QB addition at the start of free agency, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports. The catch is that Arizona still has time this offseason to add a third quarterback to the mix. Multiple reports suggest Minshew will come in behind Brissett on the depth chart, though Brissett hasn't been informed of any specific plans for the QB roles, according to Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com. The 33-year-old Brissett is entering the second season of a two-year contract, after providing competent QB play during a 2025 campaign where not much went right for the Cardinals. They ended up leading the league in pass attempts, but a new coaching staff may not be as quick to abandon the run, even in trailing game scripts. To that end, the Cardinals are signing power runner Tyler Allgeier to challenge James Conner (ankle) and Trey Benson (knee) in the backfield.

  • Cardinals' Jacoby Brissett: Career year in Arizona

Brissett completed 22 of 31 pass attempts for 243 yards, two touchdowns and an interception while gaining 19 yards and losing a fumble on three carries in Sunday's 37-20 loss to the Rams. Brissett rallied Arizona in the second half with touchdown passes to WR Michael Wilson and TE Josiah Deguara to give his club a 20-16 lead. That woke up Matthew Stafford and the Rams' offense, who then responded with three touchdowns to hand the Cardinals their ninth straight loss to end the year. Brissett was one of the few bright spots for Arizona in a forgettable 2025 campaign. The journeyman backup took over for an injured and struggling Kyler Murray back in Week 6 and played so well that head coach Jonathan Gannon named Brissett the starter for the rest of the year. The 32-year-old Brissett became a hot fantasy add while posting career highs in passing yards (3,367) and touchdown passes (23) across 12 starts. Both Murray and Brissett are under contract with the Cardinals for the 2026 season, so it will be interesting to see how the franchise handles its QB situation this upcoming offseason.

  • Cardinals' Jacoby Brissett: Sleeper QBs

Brissett didn't have a great game in Week 17 at Cincinnati, but he threw a late touchdown to Trey McBride to finish with 20.5 Fantasy points. He's now reached that total in 10 of 11 starts for the Cardinals, including Week 14 against the Rams when he scored 23.1 points. We don't know if the Rams will rest starters on defense since their playoff fate could be decided after Saturday's game between San Francisco and Seattle, so Brissett might have an easier matchup than expected. But four of the past five quarterbacks against the Rams have scored at least 23.1 Fantasy points, and Brissett is worth using as a low-end starter in all leagues in Week 18.

  • Cardinals' Jacoby Brissett: Tosses two TDs in rout

Brissett completed 21 of 37 passes for 212 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 37-14 loss to the Bengals. The Cardinals defense had no success at all slowing down Joe Burrow, so Brissett's efforts -- which included a 38-yard TD to Michael Wilson in the second quarter and an 18-yard score to Trey McBride in the fourth -- didn't make much impact. The veteran has tossed multiple touchdowns in nine of his 11 starts this season, posting a 21:7 TD:INT over that stretch as he makes a case for a starting job in 2026, whether with Arizona or someone else. With an undrafted rookie in Kedon Slovis as his backup, Brissett could still be under center in Week 18 against the Rams, even with nothing on the line for the Cards but draft position.

  • Cardinals' Jacoby Brissett: Struggles in loss to Falcons

Brissett completed 16 of 31 pass attempts for 203 yards, one touchdown and one interception while taking his only carry for five yards in Sunday's 26-19 loss to Atlanta. Brissett barely completed 50 percent of his pass attempts in his worst start since taking over for Kyler Murray (foot) back in Week 6. The 27-year-old Brissett recorded his lowest passing yardage total through 10 starts while being held to a single touchdown scored for just the second time this year. Brissett had been a revelation over his previous nine appearances with the Cardinals, so fantasy managers can hold out hope for a bounce-back effort in a soft matchup against Cincinnati in Week 17.

  • Cardinals' Jacoby Brissett: Start of the Week

It's amazing what Jacoby Brissett has done this season since taking over for Kyler Murray (foot) in Week 6. And it's amazing that Fantasy managers still don't want to trust him. But we are all in since me, Dave Richard and Heath Cummings have Brissett ranked No. 3 at quarterback in Week 16. The only quarterbacks we have ahead of him are Josh Allen and Jalen Hurts, but we expect Brissett to be awesome against Atlanta. He has scored at least 20.7 Fantasy points in all nine starts in place of Murray, including three games with at least 25.9 points. One of those was last week at Houston when he passed for 249 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. He has multiple touchdowns in eight of nine games and four outings with at least 300 passing yards. And Brissett should stay hot against the Falcons, who have allowed three quarterbacks in a row and four of the past five guys to score at least 23.2 Fantasy points. Brissett has been a savior for Fantasy managers as one of the best players off the waiver wire this season, regardless of position. And he should help you make it to the Fantasy championship with another strong game in Week 16.

  • Cardinals' Jacoby Brissett: Top DFS Play

Brissett has scored at least 23 points in his last three starts and seven of his eight starts this season. He is still underpriced against the Falcons this week. I would not be surprised if he tops 25 points for the fourth time this season.
... See More ... See Less
  • Cardinals' Jacoby Brissett: Three TDs not enough in Week 15

Brissett completed 27 of 40 passes for 249 yards and three touchdowns with one interception in Sunday's 40-20 loss to the Texans. He added six rushing yards on three carries. For the second straight game, the Arizona defense coughed up at least 40 points, letting another strong performance from Brissett go to waste. The three TDs -- two to Trey McBride and one to Michael Wilson -- were a season high for the veteran QB, but Brissett has tossed multiple scores in eight of the last nine games, posting an impressive 18:6 TD:INT since taking over for Kyler Murray (foot) in Week 6. Brissett will look to establish a new career high in passing TDs on the season in Week 16 against the Falcons.
... See More ... See Less
  • Cardinals' Jacoby Brissett: QBs to Sit

Brissett is more of a bust alert than a must-sit quarterback, but this will be a tough test for him in Week 15 at Houston. The Texans are No. 1 in fewest Fantasy points allowed to opposing quarterbacks and have held Josh Allen in Week 12 and Patrick Mahomes in Week 14 to 8.1 Fantasy points or less in each outing. Brissett has been on fire since taking over for Kyler Murray (foot) with eight games in a row with at least 20.7 Fantasy points, including tough matchups against Green Bay, Seattle and the Rams. But he won't have left tackle Paris Johnson (knee) in this game, and that makes it even tougher to trust Brissett in one-quarterback leagues. He's only an option in Superflex and two-quarterback leagues.

  • Cardinals' Jacoby Brissett: Start of the Week

Obviously, when the season started, I never expected to have Jacoby Brissett as a Start of the Week. And even after he took over for Kyler Murray (foot) in Week 6, I didn't think he would become a solid Fantasy quarterback. But here we are in Week 14, and Brissett has scored at least 20.7 Fantasy points in seven games in a row, while averaging 24.4 Fantasy points per game over that span. And he should have another quality outing against the Rams. Now, I know what you're thinking, that this is a difficult matchup. After all, the Rams are No. 9 in fewest Fantasy points allowed to opposing quarterbacks. But on the road, the Rams have allowed four of six quarterbacks to score at least 19.6 Fantasy points, and the only two who failed to reach that mark were Cam Ward in Week 2 and the Ravens without Lamar Jackson in Week 6. And Mac Jones and Bryce Young each scored at least 29.1 Fantasy points against Los Angeles in the past two road games. While Brissett likely won't have Marvin Harrison Jr. (heel), he has already excelled in tough matchups against Indianapolis (24.7 Fantasy points), Green Bay (23.8) and Seattle (23.4). Volume has been key with at least 40 pass attempts in four games in a row, and I expect that to continue in Week 14. I'm willing to trust Brissett as a top-10 Fantasy quarterback in this matchup.

  • Cardinals' Jacoby Brissett: Top DFS Play

Brissett has scored at least 19 FanDuel points in every start he has made. He has topped 23 FanDuel points in more than half of his starts. He is still reasonably priced and should throw more than 40 times against the Rams.

  • Cardinals' Jacoby Brissett: Over 300-yard mark again Sunday

Brissett completed 29 of 40 passes for 301 yards with two touchdowns and one interception while adding three carries for 16 yards in the Cardinals' 20-17 loss to the Buccaneers on Sunday. Brissett put together another impressive statistical showing in the return of Marvin Harrison from a two-game absence due to an appendectomy. Brissett connected with his No. 1 wideout on six occasions for 69 yards, and he spread the ball around to seven different pass catchers overall. The veteran signal-caller had the ball in his hands with a chance to drive the Cardinals into position for a potential game-tying field goal late in the fourth quarter, but Brissett threw incomplete on consecutive plays to snuff out that possibility and turn the ball over on downs. Despite Sunday's loss, Brissett has effectively moved the offense each week, and considering Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported Sunday that Kyler Murray (IR, foot), despite being eligible to have his practice window opened this coming week, still isn't fully recovered, Brissett appears highly likely to remain the starter in a Week 14 home matchup against the Rams next Sunday.
