Cardinals' Jacoby Brissett: Signs new deal with Arizona
Brissett and the Cardinals agreed to a reworked contract Sunday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
Per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Brissett's new deal will increase his 2026 compensation to $15.5 million guaranteed and up to $21 million with incentives, meaning he'll still become an unrestricted free agent after this season. It ends a stalemate in contract negotiations between the veteran quarterback and the Cardinals that started in mid-April right before the 2026 NFL Draft, which led to Brissett sitting out of OTAs before reporting to mandatory minicamp and training camp. Now that talks have resolved with a restructured contract, Brissett can focus his efforts toward training camp and strengthening his hold on the starting quarterback job, with Gardner Minshew and rookie third-round pick Carson Beck battling for the backup role. Brissett is coming off a career year in 2025, when he completed 64.9 percent of passes for 3,366 yards, 23 touchdowns and eight interceptions across 14 regular-season games (12 starts).

Cardinals' Jacoby Brissett: Practicing amid contract talks
Brissett participated in Thursday's training camp practice and contract talks with the Cardinals are now ongoing and productive, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN reports.
Brissett did not participate in spring workouts and held in at minicamp, so his decision to practice Thursday eases concerns about a potential hold-in at training camp. That said, the veteran signal-caller is still seeking a raise over his current backup-level starting salary, so his contract situation will warrant monitoring until it is resolved. Brissett is expected to open the regular season as Arizona's starting quarterback, with Gardner Minshew and rookie third-round pick Carson Beck filling out the QB room.

Cardinals' Jacoby Brissett: Set to practice Thursday
Coach Mike LaFleur said Brissett will practice Thursday, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
One day removed from reporting for training camp, Brissett will be out there on the field after sitting out the entirety of Arizona's offseason program as he seeks an upgrade on the terms of his current contract. LaFleur told Tyler Drake of ArizonaSports.com that talks between Brissett and the team have been productive, but he'll open camp without the situation resolved. There's an expectation that Brissett will be the Week 1 starting quarterback for the Cardinals, but Gardner Minshew and rookie third-round pick Carson Beck are waiting in the wings in the event Brissett can't replicate his productive self from Week 6 onward from the 2025 campaign.

Brissett reported to training camp Wednesday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Per Garafolo, there's nothing new to report on Brissett's contract status, but the QB is at least at training camp along with the rest of his Cardinals teammates. How much Brissett does once practice starts remains to be seen, but Ian Rapoport of NFL Network previously noted that the two sides have been actively negotiating for the last several months toward an amended deal designed to give the veteran signal caller -- who is projected to start for Arizona -- the raise he wants.

Brissett will presumably attend the start of training camp for Arizona, but the veteran quarterback could still stage a 'hold-in' due to his ongoing contract dispute. Cardinals' Jacoby Brissett: Contract still unresolved
Brissett and the Cardinals have yet to work out a new contract ahead of players reporting for training camp Wednesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
The veteran signal-caller is currently slated to play out 2026 on the final year of a contract set to pay him $4.88 million, a bargain for an NFL starter, and while both sides agree a raise would be warranted, that's been as far as talks seem to have gone. The Cardinals have a capable backup available in Gardner Minshew, who has taken the majority of first-team reps this offseason. Donnie Druin of SI.com reports that rookie third-round pick Carson Beck also remains unsigned and is working to negotiate increased guaranteed money, as he uses Brissett's contract impasse as leverage. Brissett completed 64.9 percent of his passes for 3,366 yards and a 23:8 TD:INT over 14 regular-season appearances with Arizona in 2025.

Cardinals' Jacoby Brissett: Gets in some work with teammates
Brissett, who is in the midst of a contract dispute with the Cardinals, posted a photo Thursday on Instagram that showed him getting in some work recently with several teammates, Tyler Drake of Arizonasports.com reports.
As he strives for new contract terms, Brissett stayed away from Arizona's voluntary work this offseason, and while the veteran signal-caller was present for the team's mandatory minicamp last month, he did not participate in practice. That he connected with WRs Marvin Harrison and Simi Fehoko, TEs Trey McBride and Elijah Higgins along with fellow QB Kedon Slovis ahead of training camp is a positive sign, but it remains to be seen if or for how long Brissett's contract issue lingers once the Cardinals re-take the field. For now, Drake notes that Brissett remains the team's expected Week 1 starter, but Gardner Minshew (who took the majority of first-team QB reps this offseason) and 2026 third-rounder Carson Beck also could enter the conversation this summer, pending Brissett's status.
