  • Jayden Daniels QB | WAS

Commanders' Jayden Daniels: Rusty in first game

Daniels did not complete his sole pass attempt and took a 10-yard sack in Saturday's 17-13 preseason loss to the Lions.

Daniels played just three snaps in Saturday's contest for a quick three-and-out. The quarterback missed a quick pass on first down before following it up with a sack. Daniels missed the last four games of the 2025 regular season with an elbow injury, so it is perhaps unrealistic to expect the quarterback to come out firing right away. The third-year player will likely see a few snaps in Friday's preseason contest with the Ravens to continue his return to NFL form.

  • Jonah Coleman RB | DEN

Broncos' Jonah Coleman: Four touches in preseason loss

Coleman turned three carries into nine yards and added a catch for minus-2 yards during the Broncos' 33-13 preseason loss to the Packers on Friday.

Coleman was the second Broncos running back in the game after RJ Harvey, with J.K. Dobbins observing Friday's exhibition contest from the sidelines. Coleman, a fourth-round selection of the Broncos in the 2026 NFL Draft, is pushing for a rotational role in the backfield with Dobbins and Harvey, though Coleman may see most of his playing time as a contributor on special teams. The Broncos will wrap up their preseason slate this Friday against the Vikings.

  • Wil Lutz K | DEN

Broncos' Wil Lutz: Perfect in preseason loss

Lutz converted both field-goal attempts and made his sole extra-point try in Friday night's 33-13 preseason loss to the Packers.

Lutz's seven points were over half of the Broncos' total scoring for the night. The kicker succeeded from 53 and 38 yards in the contest, continuing to prove he is the clear primary kicker for the team. Lutz made 28 of 32 field goals during 17 regular-season games in 2025, nailing four of six attempts from 50 yards or greater.

  • Troy Franklin WR | DEN

Broncos' Troy Franklin: Silent Friday night

Franklin played 16 offensive snaps in Friday night's preseason game against the Packers, but he did not appear in the box score.

Franklin had a short night, but the lack of any targets is not a good showing for the supposed No. 3 wide receiver. With the offseason addition of Jaylen Waddle, Franklin is set to see a regression in target share, so he will need to earn every snap. The speedy Oregon product provides a nice deep threat to complement Waddle, but it remains to be seen how he will be utilized in the new offense.

  • J.K. Dobbins RB | DEN

Broncos' J.K. Dobbins: Doesn't play Friday

Dobbins did not play in the Broncos' 33-13 preseason loss to the Packers on Friday.

With Dobbins observing Friday's exhibition contest in street clothes, it was RJ Harvey who drew the start while Jaleel McLaughlin and Cody Schrader led all Broncos running backs in offensive snaps. Dobbins was cleared to return to practice earlier this week after recovering from a soft-tissue injury, but it's unclear whether he'll play in the Broncos' preseason finale against the Vikings this Friday. The 2020 second-rounder figures to be the Broncos' top option out of the backfield this season, with Harvey and rookie fourth-rounder Jonah Coleman also in the mix for reps.

  • Justin Joly TE | DEN

Broncos' Justin Joly: Catches pair of targets

Joly caught both of his targets for 10 yards in Friday's preseason game against the Packers.

Joly played just eight offensive snaps, meaning he was targeted 25 percent of the time he was on the field. The rookie fifth-rounder continues to make his case for one of the three primary tight end slots on the Broncos' 53-man roster. The low amount of snaps further implies Joly has played his way into a valuable position.

  • Ravens' Jamon Johnson: Exits game early

Johnson (thumb) will not return to Saturday's preseason game against the Vikings.

Johnson exited the first half of the game on a cart. The linebacker signed with the Ravens in early August as a depth piece for the linebacker corps. If Johnson cannot recover from the injury in time for next Friday's preseason game against the Commanders, he will likely be waived or placed on season-ending injured reserve.

  • Zach Wilson QB | NO

Saints' Zach Wilson: Starting in Saturday's preseason game

Wilson will be the Saints' starting quarterback against the Rams in Saturday's preseason contest, Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.

Tyler Shough will not play in Saturday's exhibition contest, and the Saints have opted to go with Wilson as the starter, with Spencer Rattler serving as the backup and Hunter Dekkers in the mix for snaps late in the game. Wilson played well in the Saints' preseason opener against the Jaguars, as he completed 11 of 16 passes for 145 yards and a touchdown in a 24-20 loss.

  • Tommy Tremble TE | CAR

Panthers' Tommy Tremble: Logs two catches in preseason win

Tremble caught both of his targets for 20 yards during the Panthers' 34-17 win over the Jaguars in Friday's preseason game.

Tremble was listed as the Panthers' starting tight end Friday while Darren Waller observed the game in street clothes. Tremble played only five snaps on offense but made the most of his limited action, which included a 15-yard reception from Bryce Young during the Panthers' seven-play, 58 yard drive in the first quarter that ended with a one-yard touchdown run from Jonathon Brooks. Tremble has logged 23-plus catches in each of the last three years and more than 230 yards in his last two seasons, but his playing time in the regular season could be limited by the presence of Waller.

  • Tanner Koziol TE | JAC

Jaguars' Tanner Koziol: No catches in Friday's preseason loss

Koziol played 18 snaps (13 on offense, five on special teams) but didn't show up in the box score otherwise during the Jaguars' 34-17 preseason loss to the Panthers on Friday.

Koziol and Hunter Long were listed as the Jaguars' starting tight ends for Friday's exhibition contest while both Brenton Strange and Nate Boerkircher observed the game from the sidelines. Koziol, a fifth-round selection of the Jaguars in the 2026 NFL Draft, is competing against Long and Quintin Morris for the TE3 role behind Strange and Boerkircher. Koziol's last in-game opportunity to win that job will come this Friday in the Jaguars' preseason finale against the Buccaneers.
