  • Cardinals' Marvin Harrison: Better rapport with Murray

Harrison and Kyler Murray are operating with a greater rapport ahead of the 2025 season, Zach Gershman of the Cardinals' official site reports.

After hooking up with Murray for a 15-yard catch in the preseason opener versus Kansas City, Harrison and the rest of the Cardinals' No. 1 offense sat out this past Saturday's game against Denver. Murray and Harrison connected on a number of passes against a tough Broncos secondary in a joint practice, however. Harrison is looking to build upon a 62-885-8 line on 116 targets over 17 regular-season games as a rookie, and the fourth overall pick in the 2024 Draft seems poised to break out based on early returns in training camp and the exhibition schedule.

  • Luke McCaffrey WR | WAS

Commanders' Luke McCaffrey: Finishes without a catch

McCaffrey started Monday's preseason game against the Bengals but finished without a target.

McCaffrey, Deebo Samuel and Jaylin Lane took the WR snaps on Jayden Daniels' lone drive -- a four-play TD march on four rushes. Reports from Washington beat writers suggest McCaffrey has made progress since a disappointing rookie season, and strong work in practice could put him in the mix for Week 1 snaps, especially if Terry McLaurin's contract situation impacts his availability (or September workload). Deebo Samuel is locked in for one starting job, but not much else is clear in Washington's WR room unless McLaurin comes back in a hurry.

  • Jaylin Lane WR | WAS

Commanders' Jaylin Lane: Puts up 42 yards

Lane caught three of six targets for 42 yards in Monday's preseason loss to the Bengals.

Lane, Deebo Samuel and Luke McCaffrey were the wide receivers on Jayden Daniels' lone drive, which resulted in a TD after four consecutive rush attempts (the last being a scramble). Lane caught a 12-yard pass from Josh Johnson on the second drive and then continued playing well into the third quarter. The rookie fourth-round pick likely will be a backup come Week 1, but there is some chance of a big opportunity opening up if the Commanders can't figure things out with Terry McLaurin, who still isn't practicing after requesting a trade earlier this month.

  • Ja'Marr Chase WR | CIN

Bengals' Ja'Marr Chase: Plays one drive

Chase caught his lone target for 11 yards in Monday's preseason win at Washington.

Chase played just one drive Monday night, after catching four passes for 71 yards and a TD on two series in Cincinnati's preseason opener. He'll likely be held out of the final preseason game, ahead of a Week 1 contest at Cleveland against a defense led by DE Myles Garrett and CB Denzel Ward. Chase caught 11 of 14 targets for 152 yards and two TDs in his two matchups with Cleveland last season, after having just one big game against the Browns through his first three years in the league.

  • Deebo Samuel WR | WAS

Commanders' Deebo Samuel: Gains 19 yards on first drive

Samuel took one carry for 19 yards in Monday's preseason game against the Bengals.

Samuel got the ball on the first snap of Washington's four-play, 74-yard TD drive -- after which Samuel, Jayden Daniels and some other starters didn't play. With Terry McLaurin (contract) still unavailable, Samuel has been Daniels' top target throughout training camp, portending a featured role in Washington's Week 1 game plan against the Giants.

  • Rams' Brennan Presley: Leads team in receiving

Presley secured six of eight targets for 102 yards during Saturday's 23-22 preseason win against the Chargers.

Presley's biggest catch of the preseason came in the waning moments of the Rams' victory when Stetson Bennett tossed up a Hail Mary on fourth down. Presley made the contested catch over two Chargers' defenders for a 40-yard gain, and one play later Bennett tossed a game-winning nine-yard touchdown pass to Tru Edwards. While the Rams will be hard-pressed to find a spot for the UDFA given the deep and talented pool of wideouts on the roster, Presley could make the decision to leave him off the final 53-man roster more difficult with another big game in next week's preseason finale against the Browns.

  • Jonathan Mingo WR | DAL

Cowboys' Jonathan Mingo: Diagnosed with PCL sprain

Mingo was diagnosed with a PCL sprain in his right knee Monday, and the third-year wideout is expected to be sidelined for 4-to-6 weeks, Calvin Watkins of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Mingo injured his right knee during the Cowboys' preseason loss to the Ravens on Saturday. The timeline for his injury means he'll miss Dallas' regular-season opener against Philadelphia on Thursday, Sept. 4, though his absence could persist beyond Week 1 depending on how his recovery goes. With Mingo sidelined, Friday's preseason finale against the Falcons will provide Ryan Flournoy, Traeshon Holden and Jalen Brooks the opportunity to audition for the WR5 job.

  • Patriots' Efton Chism: Injury likely minor

Chism (foot/ankle) was able to ride a stationary bike off to the side of Monday's training camp practice, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.

Reiss notes that Chism -- who had his foot/ankle looked at by trainers during Saturday's preseason game against the Vikings -- was able to work "rigorously" on the stationary bike Monday, indicating that his injury is a minor one. Chism's strong play during training camp practices and in preseason games has him on track to make New England's 53-man roster for the regular season. His practice participation over the next couple of days will play a factor in his ability to suit up for the Patriots' preseason finale against the Giants on Thursday, though Chism could be sidelined to avoid injury aggravation if his spot on the roster is locked.

  • Juwann Winfree WR | HOU

Texans' Juwann Winfree: Signs with Houston

Winfree signed with the Texans on Monday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

The wide receiver was placed on injured reserve with an unspecified issue ahead of the 2024 campaign and did not play during the season. Winfree spent parts of the previous five seasons with the Broncos, Packers and Colts, respectively, catching nine total passes for 75 yards and no scores. Now, he'll look to keep his career going in a receiver room led by Nico Collins, Christian Kirk and 2025 second-rounder Jayden Higgins.

  • Noah Brown WR | WAS

Commanders' Noah Brown: Not playing Monday

Brown isn't suiting up for Monday's preseason game versus the Bengals, Zach Selby of the Commanders' official site reports.

Brown was carted off the field during mandatory minicamp in June due to an undisclosed injury and then was eased into training camp before returning to practice without restrictions July 28. He'll miss a second consecutive exhibition, leaving him just one more chance for game action ahead of Week 1, in Saturday's preseason clash with the Ravens. Brown is coming off an injury-shortened 2024 campaign in which he tallied a 35-453-1 line on 56 targets over 11 regular-season games.
