The Commanders reverted Jefferson to their practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log. Jefferson was elevated for the first time this season ahead of Sunday's Week 5 tie with the Giants. Whether Jefferson gets elevated again Week 6 versus San Francisco may depend upon whether Stefon Diggs is able to return from a hamstring injury.

• Commanders' Van Jefferson: Joining Commanders

  Rotowire Mar 13, 2026

Jefferson (forearm) is signing with the Commanders, Nicki Jhabvala of The Athletic reports. Jefferson finished the 2025 regular season with the Titans on injured reserve due to a forearm injury, but he looks to have recovered. Prior to that injury, the six-year NFL veteran recorded 350 receiving yards in 16 games. Jefferson had 802 regular-season receiving yards back in 2021 with the Rams but hasn't topped 369 in any of his other five campaigns, which suggests he's likely ticketed for a depth role in Washington.

• Titans' Van Jefferson: Placed on injured reserve

  Rotowire Jan 3, 2026

The Titans placed Jefferson (forearm) on injured reserve Saturday, Jim Wyatt of the team's official site reports. Jefferson was already ruled out for Sunday's regular-season finale against the Jaguars, and his placement on injured reserve is a procedural move to open space on the Titans' 53-man roster for the return of Bryce Oliver (knee) from IR. Jefferson will end the 2025 season with 29 catches (on 52 targets) for 350 yards and one touchdown across 16 games. The sixth-year wideout will enter the offseason as a free agent.

• Titans' Van Jefferson: Done for season

  Rotowire Dec 28, 2025

Interim coach Mike McCoy said after Sunday's 34-26 loss to the Saints that Jefferson is done for the season due to the forearm injury he sustained in the contest, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports. Jefferson won't play in the Titans' season-finale against the Jaguars next weekend and could land on IR in order to free up a roster spot for the team. In his looming absence, Mason Kinsey and/or James Proche figure to handle added WR snaps behind Elic Ayomanor and Chimere Dike.

Jefferson (back) is active for Sunday's game against Kansas City. Jefferson suffered a back injury in Sunday's loss to the 49ers and was unable to return. However, he was able to log a full practice by the end of the week and was expected to suit up. • Titans' Van Jefferson: Full Friday but still questionable

  Rotowire Dec 19, 2025

Jefferson (back) practiced fully Friday but is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Chiefs, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports. Jefferson trended in the right direction throughout the week, going from a non-participant Wednesday to limited Thursday before Friday's full session. The veteran wide receiver's status likely won't be confirmed until 90 minutes prior to Sunday's 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff. Jefferson has 24 catches for 280 yards and a touchdown in 14 appearances this season, averaging exactly 20 receiving yards per game.

• Titans' Van Jefferson: Upgrades to limited Thursday

  Rotowire Dec 18, 2025

Jefferson (back) was a limited participant at Thursday's practice. Jefferson progressed to limited participation Thursday after sitting out Wednesday's practice session. The veteran wide receiver got hurt during Tennessee's loss to the 49ers this past Sunday. If Jefferson suits up Sunday against the Chiefs, he would likely continue to work as the third wide receiver behind rookie fourth-round picks Elic Ayomanor and Chimere Dike.

• Titans' Van Jefferson: Limited to one catch

  Rotowire Nov 3, 2025

Jefferson recorded one catch on four targets for 21 yards in Sunday's 27-20 loss to the Chargers. Jefferson maintained a significant role in the Tennessee offense with Calvin Ridley (hamstring) sidelined. He's managed at least four targets in four straight games, though Jefferson has managed only one reception in each of his last two contests. He should continue to get opportunities so long as Ridley is sidelined, but Jefferson's production will likely be sporadic.

• Titans' Van Jefferson: Logs limited practice

  Rotowire Oct 15, 2025

Jefferson (ankle) was limited at practice Wednesday. With Calvin Ridley (hamstring) not practicing Wednesday, Jefferson's status is of added import ahead of Sunday's game against the Patriots. Ridley was forced out of the Titans' Week 6 loss to the Raiders with a hamstring injury after logging just six snaps, which led to Jefferson recording a season-high 74 percent snaps share en route to catching four of his six targets for 75 yards.

• Titans' Van Jefferson: Week 7 Adds (WR Preview)

  Rotowire Oct 14, 2025

Both Elic Ayomanor and Van Jefferson are desperation adds as we expect the Titans to be without Calvin Ridley. Ayomanor is the one who we are more excited about but Jefferson is the one who stepped into the Calvin Ridley role when Ridley went down last week. With a week to prepare I would expect more schemed up touches for Ayomanor.

• Titans' Van Jefferson: Season-best numbers in loss

  Rotowire Oct 13, 2025

Jefferson secured four of six targets for 75 yards during Sunday's 20-10 loss to the Raiders. Jefferson recorded more offensive yardage in Week 6 than during the prior five games his year combined, as he played a season-high 75 percent of the offensive snaps. His increased involvement came as the result of Calvin Ridley (hamstring) being forced off the field early in the first quarter. If Ridley is limited or unable to play in Week 7 versus the Patriots then Jefferson, rookie fourth-rounder wideout Elic Ayomanor and tight end Chig Okonkwo could all benefit from an uptick in target share.

  Rotowire Oct 10, 2025

Jefferson (ankle) was a full participant in Friday's practice but is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Raiders, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports. Jefferson appeared to pick up an ankle injury during the Titans' Week 5 win over the Cardinals. He steadily upgraded his practice participation after sitting out of Wednesday's session, but his official status for Sunday's contest may not be known until the Titans announce their list of inactive players approximately 90 minutes prior to the 4:05 p.m. ET kickoff. With Bryce Oliver (knee) already ruled out, the Titans could elevate Mason Kinsey, James Proche or undrafted rookie Xavier Restrepo from the practice squad to the active roster if Jefferson is unable to play.

  Rotowire Oct 9, 2025

Jefferson (ankle) practiced in limited fashion Thursday. Jefferson was unable to practice in any capacity Wednesday, so his activity Thursday was a step in the right direction. Jefferson (ankle) did not practice Wednesday, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports. Jefferson played a season-low 12 offensive snaps (18 percent) in Tennessee's Week 6 win over Arizona, but that may have been caused by his ankle injury. He'll have two more chances to practice and clarify his status ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Raiders.

• Steelers' Van Jefferson: Shows slight improvement in 2024

  Rotowire Jan 15, 2025

Jefferson secured 24 of 40 targets for 276 yards and two touchdowns over 17 regular-season appearances in 2024. Jefferson split time between the Rams and Falcons last year and failed to reach the end zone with either club. Although he wasn't very consistent during his first season in Pittsburgh, he found the end zone on two occasions during the regular season and also scored a touchdown during the team's wild-card loss to Baltimore. The 28-year-old will be an unrestricted free agent during the offseason and will likely have limited fantasy upside heading into 2025, regardless of where he signs.
