    Preseason Preview: Cardinals vs. Raiders

Player Outlook
Nailor signed a three-year, $35 million contract with the Raiders this offseason. Some were surprised by the size of the deal, and Las Vegas has since added very little competition around him via the draft. Nailor makes for an intriguing late-round flier given his upside to emerge as the top target getter for Kirk Cousins or Fernando Mendoza. Nailor finished as a top-seven scorer at WR in two individual weeks in 2025, and those were the only two games he saw more than five targets. If the volume takes a jump with the Raiders, Nailor could emerge as a weekly WR3.

  • Raiders' Jalen Nailor: Minimal snaps in preseason opener

Nailor played eight snaps on offense during Thursday's 27-14 preseason loss to the Cardinals. He did not show up in the box score otherwise. Both Nailor and Tre Tucker, the Raiders' top wideouts on the depth chart, saw minimal work in the first quarter before observing the rest of the game from the sidelines. Nailor inked a three-year, $35 million contract with Las Vegas after playing for Minnesota during the first four years of his NFL career. He's played 17 regular-season games in each of the last two years and finished the 2025 campaign with 29 catches (on 53 targets) for 444 yards and four touchdowns. Nailor will have the opportunity to operate in an expanded role in the Raiders passing attack alongside Tucker and talented tight end Brock Bowers.

  • Raiders' Jalen Nailor: Starring at training camp

Nailor has been the best receiver at Raiders training camp, Case Keefer of the Las Vegas Sun reports. Behind Brock Bowers, Nailor has been the team's most productive pass catcher in team drills. "I feel like I'm a total complete receiver," Nailor said. "I can do things on the outside, do things on the inside, run game, pass game. I feel like I can do it all." Nailor signed a three-year, $35.03 million deal with Las Vegas in the offseason and is expected to occupy the No. 1 receiver role. He's already shown a strong connection with former Vikings teammate Kirk Cousins with the first-team offense this summer. It appears Nailor and Tre Tucker are the clear top two wideouts for the Raiders headed into the 2026 season.

  • Raiders' Jalen Nailor: Gets three-year deal with Raiders

Nailor agreed to terms on a three-year, $35 million contract with Las Vegas on Monday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Nailor suited up for all 17 regular-season games with the Vikings in 2024 and 2025, totaling a combined 57-858-10 line on 95 targets in that span. The 2022 sixth-round pick now lands in one of the few wide receiver corps in the league where he projects as a potential starter rather than a complementary option, joining Tre Tucker, Jack Bech and Dont'e Thornton. Of course, tight end Brock Bowers (knee) is solidified as the No. 1 pass-catching option for the Raiders, but Nailor looks set to handle a significant role for Las Vegas' future quarterback, with the team slated to release Geno Smith and presumably select a rookie signal-caller at No. 1 overall in April's draft.

  • Vikings' Jalen Nailor: Takes another step forward

Nailor caught 29 of 53 targets for 444 yards and four touchdowns in 17 games with Minnesota in 2025. He also handled two carries for 13 yards. Nailor played a slightly larger role in the Vikings' offense in the final year of his rookie contract after having a small breakout in 2024. He posted similar numbers, however, due to a dip in efficiency. That decline was probably mostly a product of general dysfunction in a Vikings passing offense that went from sixth in the league in yards in 2024 to 29th in 2025. He'll become a free agent this offseason, and he has further demonstrated that he at least can be a credible deep threat even if he's not a very physically imposing one.

  • Vikings' Jalen Nailor: Held catchless on Christmas Day

Nailor did not catch his only target in Thursday's 23-10 win over Detroit. Minnesota went with a run-heavy approach on offense, and QB Max Brosmer threw for only 51 yards, so Nailor's goose egg wasn't entirely of his doing. In fact, the only Vikings wideout who caught a pass in the contest was Justin Jefferson, who put up a 4-30-0 receiving line. With that said, Nailor now has gone without a reception in two straight games, so he's a very unreliable fantasy target. That figures to remain the case regardless of whether Brosmer or J.J. McCarthy (hand) is Minnesota's starting QB in the season finale Week 18 versus Green Bay.

  • Vikings' Jalen Nailor: Cleared for Sunday

Nailor (back) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Giants. He figures to fill his usual role as the Vikings' No. 3 receiver, coming off a two-TD showing at Dallas in Week 16. Nailor returned to full practice participation Friday after limited sessions earlier in the week.

  • Vikings' Jalen Nailor: Stays limited in practice

Nailor (back) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice. Coming off a two-touchdown performance in this past Sunday's 34-26 win over the Cowboys, Nailor has been slowed by a back injury during Week 16 prep. He's now been a limited practice participant for two straight days, but so long as he can upgrade to full activity Friday, he'll likely approach Sunday's matchup with the Giants without an injury designation.

  • Vikings' Jalen Nailor: First career multi-score game

Nailor corralled three of five targets for 47 yards and a pair of touchdowns while losing two yards on his only carry in Sunday's 34-26 win over the Cowboys. Nailor came up a bit lame after making an incredible grab on his first touchdown scored Sunday. The 26-year-old was grounded for a while after absorbing a hard landing on the catch, but he managed to stay in the game and produced a second touchdown grab in the fourth quarter to help seal the victory for Minnesota. It was the first multi-score game of Nailor's career and it doubled his total from his previous 13 games this season, so fantasy managers shouldn't read too much into Sunday's outburst. Nailor and his 26-395-4 receiving line remain only a deep-league option for Week 16.

  • Vikings' Jalen Nailor: Career-best performance

Nailor recorded five receptions on six targets for 124 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 27-19 loss to the Ravens. Nailor made nearly all of his impact early and late in the game. He beat Marlon Humphrey deep down the field on the sixth play from scrimmage and then managed to turn upfield for a 62-yard gain that came just short of a touchdown. Nailor then came up big during Minnesota's rally late in the game, as he hauled in another deep pass for a 28-yard gain before making an impressive, acrobatic 10-yard touchdown catch four plays later. This marked the first time that Nailor has reached 100 receiving yards in his career and also matched his career high of five receptions.

  • Vikings' Jalen Nailor: Has key reception in win

Nailor had one reception for 16 yards on four targets in Sunday's win at Detroit. Nailor had just one catch, but it was for a first down at the end of the game that sealed the victory. His opportunities didn't change with the return of J.J. McCarthy at quarterback. Nailor played on 33 of the offense's 62 snaps, which was slightly less than his usual participation. He continues to have a steady role in the offense but won't get many looks in the passing game with Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison and tight end T.J. Hockenson drawing the bulk of the targets.

  • Vikings' Jalen Nailor: No receptions in loss

Nailor did not have a reception on his only target in Thursday's loss at the Chargers. Nailor played on 34 of the offense's 49 snaps, which was in line with his usual playing time as the No. 3 receiver. However, he didn't factor into the passing game as there were few downfield passes as Carson Wentz had little time to throw (five sacks) amid an injury-plagued offensive line. Nailor is prone to low output games when the offense struggles, considering Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison and tight end T.J. Hockenson draw the bulk of the targets.

  • Vikings' Jalen Nailor: Two receptions in loss

Nailor notched two receptions for 37 yards on four targets in Sunday's 28-22 loss to Philadelphia. Nailor worked as the No. 3 receiver and played on 41 of the offense's 69 snaps, which was similar to the last two weeks once Jordan Addison returned from a suspension. He has a steady role in the offense but won't get many looks in the passing game with Justin Jefferson, Addison and tight end T.J. Hockenson drawing the bulk of the targets.

  • Vikings' Jalen Nailor: Catches TD in loss in Dublin

Nailor had one reception for a two-yard touchdown on four targets in Sunday's loss to Pittsburgh in Dublin. Nailor played on 48 of the offense's 76 snaps as he moved into the third-receiver role with Jordan Addison back from a three-game suspension. Addison started opposite Justin Jefferson and played 73 snaps. Nailor was clearly ahead of Adam Thielen, who played 12 snaps on offense as the fourth receiver. Nailor's role will shrink with Addison back in the fold, but it still looks like he'll get significant playing time.

  • Vikings' Jalen Nailor: Three receptions in win

Nailor had three receptions for 37 yards on five targets in Sunday's win over the Bengals. Nailor stayed active in the passing game after Carson Wentz took over at quarterback as the two appeared to have a good rapport. Nailor will move to the No. 3 wide receiver role next week with the return of Jordan Addison from a suspension, which could reduce his workload and targets.

  • Vikings' Jalen Nailor: Returns to practice

Nailor (hand) returned to practice Wednesday for the first time since Aug. 14, the Minnesota Star Tribune reports. It's not clear how much Nailor was able to do in practice, but this is a positive sign for his chances to play in Week 1. More should be known on his status when the Vikings start releasing official practice reports Thursday ahead of Monday's game at Chicago. Nailor could take on an increased role early in the campaign with Jordan Addison set to miss the first three weeks while suspended, but the acquisition of Adam Thielen may limit his upside,

  • Vikings' Jalen Nailor: Doesn't play Saturday

Nailor (hand) did not play in the Minnesota's 20-12 preseason loss to New England on Saturday, Craig Peters of the Vikings' official site reports. Nailor has been dealing with a hand injury, and he joined the rest of the Vikings' starters on the sidelines for Saturday's exhibition contest. It's unclear how severe the injury is, but Nailor's practice participation ahead of the Vikings' preseason finale against the Titans on Friday should shed some light on the matter. The 2022 sixth-rounder is expected to see a larger role in Minnesota's offense early on in the regular season due Jordan Addison being suspended for the first three games.

  • Vikings' Jalen Nailor: Will get hand checked out

Coach Kevin O'Connell said Thursday that Nailor is dealing with a hand injury, Alec Lewis of The Athletic reports. Nailor will have his hand issue evaluated, but his status for Saturday's preseason contest against the Patriots now is cloudy. With top wideout Justin Jefferson managing a hamstring injury and Jordan Addison (suspension) out the first three games of the regular season, however, it wouldn't surprise us to see the Vikings err on the side of caution with Nailor.

  • Vikings' Jalen Nailor: Larger role with Addison out

Nailor should have a significant role in the passing game as the No. 2 receiver to begin the season with Jordan Addison suspended the first three games for violating the league's Substances of Abuse Policy, Alec Lewis of The Athletic reports. Addison's suspension relates to a 2024 DUI citation. Nailor worked as the No. 2 receiver last season when Addison missed two games with an ankle injury. Nailor entered camp in competition for the No. 3 WR role, but by all accounts has won the job. Lucky Jackson and Tai Felton are the leading candidates for the No. 3 role while Addison is unavailable.

  • Vikings' Jalen Nailor: Puts forth career year

Nailor secured 28 of 42 targets for 414 yards and six touchdowns across 17 regular-season appearances with the Vikings in 2024. He also rushed three times for minus-four yards and lost one fumble. Nailor also secured three of five targets for 33 yards during Minnesota's wild-card round loss to the Rams. The 2022 sixth-round pick set new career-high marks across the board in his third season with the Vikings, stepping up as the team's No. 3 receiver behind Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison. He's now heading into the final year of his rookie deal with Minnesota.

  • Vikings' Jalen Nailor: Scores touchdown against Packers

Nailor caught all five of his targets for 81 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 27-25 win over the Packers. Nailor's catch and yardage totals were both season highs. Despite having his best statistical game of the season, Nailor remains difficult to trust for fantasy purposes after earning no more than three targets in any of his eight prior appearances before Sunday.
