Jordan Matthews WR | CAR
Jordan Matthews: Cut by Carolina
The Panthers are slated to release Matthews on Tuesday, Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer reports.
Matthews looked relatively solid throughout the preseason with Carolina, so he could earn a spot on the team's practice squad once the dust of roster cuts settles. The veteran WR-turned-TE has only played a combined four regular-season games in the last four seasons, so at this point in his career he's most suitable as a deeper reserve option.

Blake Whiteheart TE | CLE
Blake Whiteheart: Cut by Arizona
Whiteheart was waived by the Cardinals on Tuesday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Undrafted out of Wake Forest last year, Whiteheart appeared in two games as a rookie, seeing two snaps on offense and nine on special teams. He caught six passes for 57 yards this preseason and could be a candidate for the practice squad.

Peyton Hendershot TE | KC
Chiefs' Peyton Hendershot: Traded to KC
The Cowboys are trading Hendershot to the Chiefs for a conditional seventh-round pick, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
It was previously reported that Dallas was waiving the tight end, but the Chiefs apparently were interested and made a small offer to ensure he wouldn't land with a team that had higher waiver priority. Hendershot now slots in at the bottom of Kansas City's depth chart, potentially competing with rookie Jared Wiley for the No. 3 TE role.

Cameron Latu TE | PHI
Cameron Latu: Waived by Niners
The 49ers waived Latu on Tuesday, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports.
The 2023 third-round pick missed his entire rookie season after suffering a meniscus injury last August, but he was busy this preseason with eight catches for 84 yards on 10 targets. It's possible Latu showed enough that another team will claim him on waivers. If not, the Niners might bring him back as a practice squad player.

Shawn Bowman TE | JAC
Shawn Bowman: Doesn't make final cut
Bowman was waived by the Jaguars on Tuesday.
Bowman has been working to earn a spot on the Jaguars' final roster since signing with the team after not being selected in the 2024 Daft. The Rutgers product will now need to find another opportunity if he wishes to continue pursuing a career in the NFL.

Josiah Deguara TE | ARI
Josiah Deguara: Released by Jacksonville
The Jaguars released Deguara on Tuesday.
Deguara inked a one-year deal with the Jaguars back in March after spending the first four seasons of his career with Green Bay. The Jaguars opted to retain Evan Engram, Luke Farrell and Brenton Strange at tight end over Deguara.
-
Michael Jacobson TE | NO
Michael Jacobson: Dumped by New Orleans
The Saints waived Jacobson on Tuesday, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.
Jacobson spent last season on New Orleans' practice squad but has yet to appear in a regular-season contest despite bouncing around the league for the last four years. He had just one catch for four yards across 73 offensive snaps this preseason.
-
Stephen Carlson TE | CHI
Stephen Carlson: Released by Chicago
The Bears released Carlson on Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
The 27-year-old tight end bounced between the practice squad and active roster with Chicago last season but appeared in just one game. He hasn't caught a regular-season pass since 2020 with the Browns and has just six career grabs for 62 yards and one touchdown.

Jacob Hollister TE | CAR
Jacob Hollister: Dumped by Carolina
The Panthers released Hollister on Tuesday, Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer reports.
Hollister turns 31 in November and missed all of last season after reaching an injury settlement with the Raiders. He has 62 games of NFL experience with a career 83-707-7 receiving line, but Hollister didn't do enough to win a 53-man roster spot in Carolina this summer, finishing the preseason with four catches for 27 yards.

Messiah Swinson TE | GB
Messiah Swinson: Cut by Green Bay
The Packers waived Swinson on Tuesday, Ryan Wood of USA Today reports.
Undrafted out of Arizona State back in April, Swinson failed to make an impression on the field this preseason, finishing with zero catches on 28 offensive snaps.
