  • Jack Westover: Let go with injury settlement

The Seahawks waived Westover (undisclosed) from injured reserve with an injury settlement Friday, John Boyle of the team's official site reports.

Westover signed with the Seahawks in April as an undrafted free agent. The Washington product played in the preseason opener against the Chargers on Aug. 10, but his unspecified injury kept him out of the following two exhibition contests. The injury settlement allows Westover to sign with another team once he is fully healthy.

  • Jake Tonges TE | SF

49ers' Jake Tonges: Survives roster cuts

Tonges was one of three tight ends kept on the 49ers' active roster heading into Week 1 of the regular season.

San Francisco surprisingly kept the undrafted Tonges over 2023 third-round pick Cameron Latu when finalizing rosters earlier this week. The latter was picked up by Cleveland as an addition to its practice squad, while Tonges immediately becomes one of the primary backups to starter George Kittle after earning zero snaps in 2023 as a reserve. Now the question becomes how Tonges is deployed behind his superstar teammate -- in terms of playing time and targets -- compared to fellow backup Eric Saubert.

  • Mark Andrews TE | BAL

Ravens' Mark Andrews: Retakes practice field

Andrews (undisclosed) is participating in Friday's practice, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.

Andrews is practicing for the first time since having been involved in a car accident Aug. 14. The Ravens released a statement declaring that Andrews was uninjured in the incident, so his absence from practice for the last two weeks seems to have been mostly precautionary. The star tight end now has six days left to ramp up his activity level ahead of Thursday's regular-season opener against the Chiefs.

  • Jordan Murray TE | CHI

    Jordan Murray: Headed to Arizona

The Cardinals signed Murray to the practice squad Thursday, Darren Urban of the team's official site reports.

Murray entered Colts' training camp competing for a depth tight end role, but he was unsuccessful in making the 53-man roster. He'll now head to Arizona and stay ready for a promotion in case any of the tight ends on the Cardinals' active roster miss time.

  • Nick Vannett TE | LAR

Titans' Nick Vannett: Back on Titans' 53-man roster

Tennessee signed Vannett to the 53-man roster Thursday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Vannett was cut by the Titans on Wednesday to make room for a waiver claim, but he was expected to return to Tennessee, per Terry McCormick of TitanInsider.com. Vannett is part of a crowded tight-end room made up of Chigoziem Okonkwo, Josh Whyle (concussion), Thomas Odukoya and David Martin-Robinson.

  • Cameron Latu TE | PHI

Cameron Latu: Added to Browns' practice squad

Latu signed with Cleveland's practice squad Thursday.

The 2023 third-round selection of the 49ers missed his entire rookie season due to a meniscus injury. Latu entered training camp competing for a depth role at tight end, and despite having a solid preseason in which he recorded eight catches (on 10 targets) for 84 yards, he was waived by San Francisco on Tuesday. David Njoku (undisclosed) and Jordan Akins are the only two tight ends on the Browns' active roster, and if either of them were to miss time, Latu would be a prime candidate to be elevated to the active roster.

  • Eric Tomlinson TE | LAC

Eric Tomlinson: Links up with Bolts

Tomlinson signed with the Chargers' practice squad Thursday, Eric Smith of the team's official site reports.

The UTEP product fell short of making the Colts' initial 53-man roster Tuesday and has since agreed to join the Chargers' practice squad. Tomlinson spent time with both the Ravens' and Colts' practice squads last season, but his most recent in-game action came in 2022 with the Broncos.

  • Sean McKeon TE | IND

Sean McKeon: Finds work in Indy

The Colts signed McKeon to their practice squad Thursday.

McKeon failed to catch on with the Lions before signing with the Colts' practice squad Thursday. He appeared in nine regular-season games with the Cowboys last season, failing to haul in either of his two targets while playing 234 total snaps (94 offensive and 140 on special teams).

  • Cole Fotheringham: Heading to Houston

Fotheringham signed with the Texans' practice squad Thursday.

After failing to make the Raiders' initial 53-man roster Tuesday, Fotheringham has inked a deal to join the Texans' practice squad. The 26-year-old tight end appeared in two game with the Raiders last season, catching one pass for six yards on 21 offensive snaps.

  • Treyton Welch: Finds work in New Orleans

Welch signed with the Saints' practice squad Thursday, John Hendrix of SI.com reports.

Welch didn't make the cut for the Browns' initial 53-man roster Tuesday, but he's quickly found a new home on the Saints' practice squad. The 23-year-old tight end went undrafted out of Wyoming this past offseason and he could spend time with New Orleans' active roster if the team's tight-end room faces injuries at some point.
