Buccaneers' Cade Otton: Posts 26 yards in Week 1 loss
Otton caught three of five targets for 26 yards in Tampa Bay's loss to the Bengals on Sunday.
Otton played 56 of 57 offensive snaps and ran 31 routes on Baker Mayfield's 36 dropbacks. His five targets were good for third on the team, trailing only Bucky Irving's seven and Emeka Egbuka's six. Otton plays virtually every snap, but he's a low-floor, low-upside fantasy option who caught just one touchdown last season.

Buccaneers' Cade Otton: Remains No. 1 TE on depth chart
Otton is listed as the No. 1 TE on the Buccaneers' unofficial depth chart.
Aside from adding sixth-round rookie Bauer Sharp to the TE room this offseason, it's status quo for the position group in 2026, with all of Otton, Payne Durham and Ko Kieft back. Otton himself re-signed with Tampa Bay on a three-year, $30 million contract in March to retain his standing as the team's top tight end. Over the last two regular seasons, he's recorded exactly 59 catches on both occasions, totaling 1,172 yards and five touchdowns on 168 targets across 30 contests.

Buccaneers' Cade Otton: Back at practice
Otton (undisclosed) returned to practice Tuesday, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Otton missed about a week of action for the Bucs, and it's unclear if he'll play in Friday's preseason finale against Jacksonville. Last season, Otton matched his career high with 59 catches across 16 regular-season games, turning them into 572 yards and one touchdown. He's expected to be the third or fourth option in Tampa Bay's passing attack in 2026.

Buccaneers' Cade Otton: Sitting with undisclosed injury
Otton isn't practicing Tuesday due to an undisclosed injury, Greg Auman of Fox Sports reports.
The Buccaneers haven't revealed the nature of Otton's injury nor its severity, but the fifth-year tight end appears unlikely to be available for Saturday's preseason game versus Kansas City. When healthy, Otton projects to take on a heavy snap share on a weekly basis, but he isn't expected to be much more than a third or fourth option in the passing game for quarterback Baker Mayfield and has never been a major red-zone target (11 touchdowns in 63 career regular-season games).

Buccaneers' Cade Otton: Idle for preseason opener
Otton did not play in Friday's 24-16 preseason win over the Jets.
Otton was the only Buccaneers tight end to not suit up Friday, with rookie sixth-rounder Bauer Sharp leading the position group with 28 snaps on offense, followed by Devin Culp (21). None of the Bucs' key skill starters played, but Otton and the rest of the first-team offense could see some action against the Chiefs on Saturday, Aug. 22. The fifth-year tight end is looking to build off a 2025 campaign in whichh he caught 59 passes (on 81 targets) for 572 yards and a touchdown over 16 regular-season games.

Buccaneers' Cade Otton: To remain in Tampa Bay
Otton is finalizing a deal that will have him re-sign with the Buccaneers, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Otton, a 2022 fourth-round pick, was positioned as one of the top available tight ends on the free-agent market, but he'll instead remain in a familiar offense with quarterback Baker Mayfield at the helm. Otton's time in Tampa Bay has largely been characterized by lofty snap counts and low target rates, though he's proven capable of handling larger receiving workloads when injuries at WR necessitate it. He made 58 regular-season starts over the course of his rookie contract, posting his best receiving line in 2024 (59-600-4) despite missing three games. Otton dropped to 59-572-1 last season, with six fewer targets (81) in two more games (16).

Buccaneers' Cade Otton: Clutch performance in key win
Otton secured seven of nine targets for 94 yards and a touchdown in the Buccaneers' 16-14 win over the Panthers on Saturday.
Otton comfortably set the pace for the Buccaneers in receptions, receiving yards and targets, and the middle figure was also a new season high. The fourth-year pro delivered multiple key catches, including an 18-yard TD grab to open the scoring in the first quarter, as well as a 20-yard reception just before the two-minute warning in the fourth quarter that helped Tampa Bay burn some precious time while nursing a two-point lead. Otton's touchdown was his first of the season, and he finished the 2025 regular-season campaign with a career-high-tying 59 receptions and the second-highest receiving yardage total of his four seasons (572).
