  • Ravens' Keaton Mitchell: Healthy scratch against Detroit

Mitchell (coach's decision) is inactive for Monday's game against the Lions.

Mitchell will be a healthy scratch for a third consecutive week as the Ravens roll with Justice Hill and Rasheen Ali as the two rotational running backs behind Derrick Henry. Mitchell's next chance to play is Week 4 against the Chiefs, but the 23-year-old running back is out of the backfield rotation barring injury, illness or suspension to Henry, Hill or Ali.

  • Commanders' Chris Rodriguez: Leads team with 11 carries

Rodriguez took 11 carries for 39 yards in Sunday's 41-24 win over the Raiders.

A healthy scratch the previous two weeks, Rodriguez jumped right into the starting lineup in Washington's first game since Austin Ekeler suffered an Achilles' tear. Rodriguez played every snap on the first two drives, taking five carries for 29 yards in the process, before giving way to Jacory Croskey-Merritt for the third and fourth series. Jeremy McNichols then subbed in and broke off a 60-yard touchdown, and it wasn't until the fourth quarter that Rodriguez got carries again. When all was said and done, Rodriguez played 39 percent of Washington's snaps on offense, tied with Croskey-Merritt and ahead of McNichols (26 percent). Rodriguez also had the most carries, though not quite a majority, and he finished without a target. The Commanders likely will deploy a three-man backfield again when they travel to Atlanta in Week 4.

  • Lions' Craig Reynolds: Healthy scratch Week 3

Reynolds (coach's decision) is inactive for Monday's game against the Ravens.

Reynolds has mostly served in a special-teams role through the first two games of the regular season. He'll observe Monday's game in street clothes as the Lions roll with a four-man backfield of Jahmyr Gibbs, David Montgomery, Sione Vaki and Jacob Saylors. Reynolds' next opportunity to play is Week 4 against the Browns on Sunday.

  • Khalil Herbert RB | NYJ

Khalil Herbert: Expected to join Seattle's PS

Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports that the Seahawks are expected to sign Herbert to the practice squad.

The Seahawks are operating on a short week in facing the Cardinals on Thursday. With Zach Charbonnet (foot) in danger of missing a second consecutive game, the addition of Herbert would give Seattle added backfield depth behind Kenneth Walker if Charbonnet is inactive. Herbert logged 36 carries for 130 yards and a touchdown and 10 catches (on 11 targets) for 25 yards across 14 regular-season games in 2024 between the Bengals (eight) and Bears (six).

  • James Conner RB | ARI

Cardinals' James Conner: Slated for season-ending surgery

Coach Jonathan Gannon said Monday that Conner will undergo season-ending foot surgery, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.

Conner exited Sunday's loss at San Francisco early in the third quarter with what initially was termed an ankle injury, which was severe enough for Adam Schefter of ESPN to report that the running back's 2025 campaign was over. Now that Conner's coach has confirmed as much as well as the true nature of the injury, he'll end the season with 32 carries for 95 yards and one touchdown and eight catches (on nine targets) for 38 yards and another score in three games. Trey Benson is expected to lead Arizona's backfield moving forward, but Emari Demercado also should get the occasional rep on game days.

  • Najee Harris RB | LAC

Chargers' Najee Harris: Team confirms Achilles tear

Chargers head coach John Harbaugh said Monday that imaging has confirmed Harris suffered a torn Achilles during Sunday's win over the Broncos, Kris Rhim of ESPN.com reports.

Harris will need to undergo surgery and miss the remainder of the season due to the severity of the injury he suffered Week 3 against Denver. The 27-year-old running back inked a one-year contract with Los Angeles for the 2025 campaign, positioning him to hit free agency next offseason. With Harris done for the year, rookie first-round pick Omarion Hampton becomes clearly entrenched as the No. 1 backfield option for a high-scoring Chargers offense, and 2024 sixth-rounder Kimani Vidal becomes a likely candidate to be brought off the practice squad as additional depth alongside return-game specialist Hassan Haskins.

  • DJ Giddens RB | IND

Colts' DJ Giddens: Just one carry in win

Giddens had one carry for three yards in Sunday's win at Tennessee.

Giddens played just eight snaps on offense. Tyler Goodson made his regular-season debut after missing the first two games due to an elbow injury and played four snaps and had two carries for six yards. It's not clear who is Taylor's primary backup as Goodson could be used in more passing situations, but neither backup is getting much usage as Taylor again got almost all the opportunities (17 carries and four targets) and played on 77 percent of the offense's snaps.

  • Tyler Goodson RB | ATL

Colts' Tyler Goodson: Two carries in season debut

Goodson had two carries for six yards in Sunday's win at Tennessee.

Goodson made his regular-season debut after missing the first two games due to an elbow injury. He played four snaps on offense compared to eight snaps for DJ Giddens but got one more carry. It's not clear who is Taylor's primary backup as Goodson could be used in more passing situations, but neither backup is getting much usage as Taylor again got almost all the opportunities (17 carries and four targets) and played on 77 percent of the offense's snaps.

  • Robbie Ouzts RB | SEA

Seahawks' Robbie Ouzts: Suffers ankle injury Week 3

Head coach Mike Macdonald said Monday that Ouzts injured his ankle during the Seahawks' 44-13 win over the Saints on Sunday, Corbin K. Smith of SI.com reports.

It's unclear when the rookie fifth-rounder suffered the injury, but with the Seahawks on short rest, it puts him in greater jeopardy of missing Thursday's NFC West clash against the Cardinals in Arizona. Ouzts' practice participation over the coming days will be worth monitoring, and if he's not cleared to play Thursday, Brady Russell would step in as the Seahawks' top fullback.

  • Cam Akers RB | SEA

Vikings' Cam Akers: Gets five carries in blowout win

Akers had five carries for 19 yards a did not have a reception on his only target in Sunday's win over the Bengals.

Akers was elevated to the active roster just five days after he was signed as a free agent. Zavier Scott got more work as Jordan Mason's backup with Aaron Jones (hamstring) sidelined, and Akers only got his action (seven snaps on offense) late in the fourth quarter. However, Akers getting snaps, even in a blowout, so quickly after he was signed shows he could be in the mix to be the primary backup as early as Week 4 against Pittsburgh.
