  • Giants' Devin Singletary: In line for increased role

Tyrone Tracy is slated to miss time after dislocating his shoulder in Sunday's loss to the Chiefs, per Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com, so Singletary likely will move up to the Giants' No. 2 RB role.

It's unclear at this point how long Tracy will be sidelined, but it's likely that he'll miss at least next Sunday's Week 4 matchup against the Chargers, and there's a very real possibility that he'll be sidelined beyond that contest as well. Rookie Cam Skattebo was impressive in racking up 121 yards from scrimmage (60 rushing and 61 receiving) while taking on the bulk of the backfield work Sunday night, and he's the obvious choice to move up to the RB1 role while Tracy is sidelined (and possibly beyond). Singletary wasn't a big part of the team's offense against the Chiefs despite Tracy's early exit, but he did log a season-high four carries and 11 rushing yards while also serving as the team's top kick returner with 134 return yards. The Giants may ultimately decide to deploy Skattebo in a workhorse role, and the club will likely add a running back to the game-day roster (possibly Dante Miller off the practice squad) while Tracy is out, but regardless, Singletary seems to be in line for at least a slight bump in usage in the short term.

  • Tyler Allgeier RB | ARI

Falcons' Tyler Allgeier: Muted role in blowout loss

Allgeier rushed once for four yards and caught one of two targets for zero yards during Sunday's 30-0 loss to the Panthers.

After 26 rushing attempts through the first two weeks, Allgeier's muted role was a product of Sunday's game script, as the Falcons got in an early hole and tried to pass their way out of it. Allgeier is still the top backup behind Bijan Robinson, despite undrafted rookie Nathan Carter getting more touches against Carolina. All of Carter's attempts came on Atlanta's final drive, and he fumbled on his last carry.

  • Samaje Perine RB | CIN

Bengals' Samaje Perine: Thumb injury not serious

Perine (thumb) avoided a severe injury during Sunday's loss to the Vikings and hasn't been ruled out to face the Broncos in Week 4, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Perine underwent an MRI after having been forced out of Sunday's loss to Minnesota, but those evaluations didn't reveal any significant damage. The veteran has handled a change-of-pace role behind Chase Brown, though he's generated just six touches across three regular-season appearances. Tahj Brooks would stand to get additional work if Perine does miss any time.

  • Nate Carter RB | ATL

Falcons' Nathan Carter: Gets garbage-time action

Carter rushed seven times for 46 yards during Sunday's 30-0 loss to the Panthers. He also lost a fumble.

The undrafted rookie was a healthy scratch for Week 1, but he's been active the past two games. He saw only one offensive snap during his NFL debut in Minnesota on Monday Night Football, but he got more playing time during Sunday's blowout loss. Carter didn't see any offensive snaps until the Falcons' final drive, but he got the ball on each play of the drive and looked good until he fumbled on his final touch. As long as Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier are healthy, there won't be many meaningful snaps for Carter except in outlier game scripts like Sunday's.

  • 49ers' Isaac Guerendo: Stuck on special teams

Guerendo did not receive a carry while gaining 19 yards on a kickoff return in Sunday's 16-15 win over the Cardinals.

Guerendo continued to be used exclusively on special teams, logging all 15 of his snaps there Sunday. Brian Robinson was the only running back to receive any carries outside of starter Christian McCaffrey. Guerendo carries no fantasy value heading into a Week 4 matchup against Jacksonville.

  • 49ers' Brian Robinson: Drop in usage Sunday

Robinson had two carries for 22 yards and was not targeted as a receiver in Sunday's 16-15 win over Arizona.

Robinson saw his usage drop to nine percent on offense (six snaps) against the Cardinals, and his two touches checked in well below the 8.5 he averaged over the first two weeks of the campaign. The 26-year-old made the most of his sparse opportunities Sunday, ripping off a season-best 19-yard run in the fourth quarter. No other backup running back saw the field on offense in the win, so Robinson's reduced playing time was likely the result of the 49ers leaning on Christian McCaffrey heavily against a division opponent. Expect Robinson to continue receiving a handful of carries backing up McCaffrey against the Jaguars next Sunday.

  • Zavier Scott RB | MIN

Vikings' Zavier Scott: Works in backup role

Scott had eight carries for 30 yards and one reception for 20 yards on his lone target in Sunday's win over the Bengals.

Scott played on 17 of the offense's 60 snaps as he got work in a blowout win behind starter Jordan Mason. Cam Akers played seven snaps late in the fourth quarter. While Scott's usage is encouraging, he also had a fumble (which the Vikings recovered), and the fact Akers was elevated to the active roster just a few days after being signed could be a worry. It's still possible Akers overtakes Scott for backup duties while Aaron Jones is sidelined with a hamstring injury.

  • Kareem Hunt RB | KC

Chiefs' Kareem Hunt: Scores rush TD in Week 3

Hunt carried the ball 10 times for 34 yards and one touchdown during Sunday's 22-9 win over the Giants.

Hunt scored Kansas City's only rushing touchdown versus New York, but he was outproduced by Isaiah Pacheco (45 rushing yards) on an identical amount of carries. Of course, as neither Hunt nor Pacheco has yet demonstrated a reason to run away with the No. 1 backfield role, they remain primed for a timeshare entering Week 4, as the Chiefs prepare for a difficult home matchup against the Ravens. In deeper fantasy formats, Hunt possesses limited appeal as a TD-dependent flex option.

  • LeQuint Allen RB | JAC

Jaguars' LeQuint Allen: Targeted once in win

Allen secured his only target for nine yards during Sunday's 17-10 win over Houston.

Allen handled 21 of 70 offensive snaps versus the Texans, working ahead of Bhayshul Tuten (12 snaps). That workload split was in large part due to the heavy ratio of passing situations that confronted Jacksonville's offense Week 3, which favor Allen's change-of-pace skill set. Allen will remain involved in a No. 3 backfield role Week 4 against the 49ers, but Tuten is still the primary backup to Travis Etienne.

  • Giants' Tyrone Tracy: Expected to miss time

Tracy suffered a dislocated right shoulder during Sunday's loss to the Chiefs and is in line to miss time, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.

Tracy handled seven carries for 29 yards and caught two of three targets for seven yards before being forced out late in the first quarter versus Kansas City. It was notable to see Tracy handle such a large workload after having taken a back seat to rookie Cam Skatteboo in Week 2. Now that Tracy is expected to miss at least a few games, however, Skattebo has a clear path to the Giant's lead-back role, and Devin Singletary becomes positioned as the No. 2 backfield option. The team hasn't officially commented on the severity of Tracy's injury yet, so it remains to be seen whether he'll be a candidate for IR.
