  • Commanders' Rachaad White: Makes return to Sunday's contest

White (shoulder) has returned to Sunday's game against the Seahawks in the third quarter, JP Finlay of NBC Sports Washington reports. White earned three touches and recorded a receiving touchdown in the first half before getting banged up shortly before the end of the second quarter. After receiving treatment during halftime, White looks like he'll be able to fill a change-of-pace role out of the Washington backfield for the rest of the contest.

  • Commanders' Rachaad White: Iffy to return Sunday

White is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Seahawks due to a shoulder injury. Per Nicki Jhabvala of The Athletic, White made a brief trip to the locker room before returning to the Washington sideline, so the running back could be preparing to check back into the contest. He gained four yards on two carries and turned his lone target into a six-yard reception during the first half of Sunday's game.

  • Commanders' Rachaad White: Sleeper RBs

After a disappointing Week 1 with just 4.7 PPR points at Philadelphia, White was exceptional in Week 2 at Dallas with 14.3 PPR points. He had seven carries for 43 yards and six catches for 40 yards on six targets. White will continue to share work with Jacory Croskey-Merritt, but White has flex appeal in all leagues against Seattle. It won't be an easy matchup, and we'll see what the Commanders look like with Marcus Mariota starting for the injured Jayden Daniels (elbow). But I expect White to be heavily involved in the passing game, which makes him a flex option in Week 3.

  • Commanders' Rachaad White: Sleepers (Start/Sit)

  • Commanders' Rachaad White: Highly efficient in Week 2 loss

White rushed seven times for 43 yards and brought in all six targets for 40 yards in the Commanders' 37-20 loss to the Cowboys on Sunday. The Commanders fell into catch-up mode throughout the second half, a situation tailor-made for White's pass-catching acumen. The veteran offseason addition saw a hefty workload as a result, recording four more catches on four additional targets than he'd seen in Week 1. White is likely to continue in a complementary role behind Jacory Croskey-Merritt for the time being, but the former figures to continue seeing plenty of run anytime the Commanders are trailing.

  • Commanders' Rachaad White: Clear of injury report

White (hamstring) wasn't listed on the Commanders' initial Week 1 injury report Wednesday. White had been tending to a hamstring issue since mid-August, but his ability to avoid the practice report entirely Wednesday indicates he's put the injury behind him. Meanwhile, Jacory Croskey-Merritt (groin) was limited to kick off Week 1 prep, leaving one big question mark in Washington's backfield ahead of Sunday's game in Philadelphia.

  • Commanders' Rachaad White: Back in individual drills Monday

Coach Dan Quinn said White (hamstring) will participate in individual drills at Monday's practice, Ben Standig of Big 100 Washington D.C. reports. White has been sidelined since last Wednesday due to a hamstring injury and didn't suit up for Saturday's preseason game at Detroit. Now that he's back in the mix at practice, he can continue staking a claim to a Commanders backfield that currently is without top incumbent Jacory Croskey-Merritt (lower body).

  • Commanders' Rachaad White: Working off to side at practice Thursday

White (hamstring) was in uniform for Thursday's practice and was seen working out off to the side catching passes from a JUGS machine, Nicki Jhabvala of The Athletic reports. Though White has been ruled out for the Commanders' second preseason game Saturday versus the Lions, he appears to be progressing in his recovery from the hamstring injury, which kept him off the field entirely a day earlier. So long as White is able to return to team drills before the end of the preseason or during Week 1 prep, he should be ready to handle a change-of-pace role out of the Washington backfield in the Sept. 13 season opener in Philadelphia.

  • Commanders' Rachaad White: Won't play in Saturday's preseason game

White (hamstring) won't play in Saturday's preseason game against the Lions, John Keim of ESPN.com reports. While White, who was hurt during the Commanders' recent joint practice versus Miami, won't suit up this weekend, he was spotted on the field during the early portion of Thursday's session, which will be a lighter practice, per Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post. White's next chance to see game action will arrive Friday, Aug. 28 in the team's exhibition finale against the Ravens.

  • Commanders' Rachaad White: Nursing hamstring injury

White has missed the last few days of practice with a hamstring injury, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports. White's issue was previously unknown, but Garafolo adds the hamstring injury isn't considered serious or a long-term problem. The veteran running back is expected to fill the pass-down role in Washington's backfield alongside Jacory Croskey-Merritt, who is the favorite to handle early-down carries.

  • Commanders' Rachaad White: Penciled in as No. 2 RB at camp

White was listed as the Commanders' No. 2 running back on the team's unofficial depth chart Monday, Zach Selby of the team's official site reports. White joined Washington in the offseason, inking a one-year deal with the team in March. Head coach Dan Quinn named White as a standout performer from OTAs and minicamp, but at this point, second-year pro Jacory Croskey-Merritt appears to have the edge as the No. 1 option in the backfield heading into the 2026 campaign. White was able to turn 132 carries into 572 yards and four touchdowns while also adding 40 catches and 218 yards over 17 regular-season contests with the Buccaneers in 2025, marking the third time in his four-year career that he was active for the entire regular season.

  • Commanders' Rachaad White: Named as offseason standout

Commanders coach Dan Quinn named White as one of the standout performers from OTAs and minicamp, but Quinn also cautioned that he expects multiple RBs to contribute and isn't sure if there will be a designated starter, Zach Selby of the Commanders' official site reports. The Commanders also have Jacory Croskey-Merritt, Kaytron Allen, Jerome Ford and Jeremy McNichols competing for playing time, with Croskey-Merritt presumably being the other favorite to start. White easily has the most NFL experience of the group as both a rusher and pass catcher, but his efficiency on the ground was often a negative in Tampa Bay -- which is why he settled for a one-year, $2 million contract after piling up 4,106 yards from scrimmage and 25 TDs in four seasons. He's making a good impression with his new team and seems locked in for a Week 1 role, though it remains to be seen if White will get considerable rushing volume or be deployed more like a passing-down specialist.

  • Buccaneers' Rachaad White: Records 41 total yards in win

White rushed seven times for 23 yards and brought in both targets for 18 yards in the Buccaneers' 16-14 win over the Panthers on Saturday. White was a distant runner-up to Bucky Irving in carries for the Buccaneers on the afternoon, with the latter logging a career-high 26 rush attempts. Like Irving, White averaged just 3.3 yards per carry, and he complemented that with equally modest receiving yardage. White put together just a serviceable regular season despite the fact he had the potential for expanded opportunity with Irving missing seven games with shoulder and foot injuries, with the former finishing with 572 rushing yards and four touchdowns at 4.3 yards per carry while adding a 40-218-0 line on 45 targets across 17 games. White would remain in a complementary role should the Buccaneers play next weekend in the wild-card round by virtue of the Saints tying or defeating the Falcons on Sunday.

  • Buccaneers' Rachaad White: Limited production in Week 17

White turned two carries into 10 yards and caught both of his targets for seven yards in Sunday's 20-17 loss to the Dolphins. White was an afterthought on offense in Week 17, churning out his fewest rushing yards in a game this season, while the two carries were tied for his second lowest total on the year. The running back was able to reel in at least one pass for the 16th consecutive contest this season. With Bucky Irving back operating as the team's primary option in the backfield, White has turned into an unappealing fantasy option.

  • Buccaneers' Rachaad White: Accrues 60 total yards in loss

White rushed five times for 45 yards and brought in both targets for 15 yards in the Buccaneers' 23-20 loss to the Panthers on Sunday. White finished with 9.0 yards per carry thanks almost exclusively to a 39-yard run he rattled off early in the second quarter. The versatile veteran back has averaged 4.8 yards per carry or more in five of the last six games, but he has logged double-digit totes just twice in that span while Bucky Irving continues to serve as the clear leader of the ground attack. White should continue in a similar change-of-pace role in a Week 17 road matchup against the Dolphins next Sunday.

  • Buccaneers' Rachaad White: Just two touches in loss

White rushed once for 20 yards and brought in his only target for six yards in the Buccaneers' 29-28 loss to the Falcons on Thursday night. White surprisingly was limited to his lowest touch count of the season, just four days after gaining an efficient 53 yards on 11 carries against the Saints. The veteran back was even out-touched by Sean Tucker, who logged three more carries and recorded a rushing touchdown. The usage behind Bucky Irving has been a bit haphazard over a limited sample this season, so White could revert to a more typical workload in a Week 16 road matchup against the Panthers on Sunday, Dec. 21.

  • Buccaneers' Rachaad White: More efficient than Irving in loss

White rushed 11 times for 53 yards and secured one of two targets for two yards in the Buccaneers' 24-20 loss to the Saints on Sunday. The veteran back gained just two fewer yards than backfield mate Bucky Irving on four less carries, putting together his third effort of over 4.8 yards per carry in the last four games. White continued to see a reduced pass-catching role, however, as he's now been held to two catches and 11 yards or fewer in three of the last four games. White does appear to be the clear No. 2 back over Sean Tucker despite the latter's touchdown Sunday, so the former retains value in deeper PPR formats heading into Thursday night's Week 15 home matchup against the Falcons.

  • Buccaneers' Rachaad White: Shows some efficiency

White rushed the ball seven times for 38 yards in Sunday's 34-7 loss to the Rams. He added one reception on one target for four yards. White maintained a key role in the Buccaneers' backfield with Bucky Irving (shoulder) remaining inactive. He served as the change of pace to Sean Tucker, though White was the more efficient back thanks to lengthy runs of 16 and 12 yards. Irving reportedly has a realistic chance to return in Week 13, leaving White's future role unclear.

  • Buccaneers' Rachaad White: Status quo with Irving out again

White is set to maintain a larger role Sunday against the Rams, as Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports that Bucky Irving (shoulder/foot) won't play. White has been outperformed by Sean Tucker over Tampa Bay's past two games, but both running backs are expected to remain involved this weekend. Irving hasn't played since Week 4, and White has averaged 15.7 touches during Irving's absence, though Tucker led the Buccaneers with 21 touches compared to White's 12 in Week 11 against the Bills.
... See More ... See Less
  • Buccaneers' Rachaad White: Productive with 12 touches in loss

White rushed 10 times for 51 yards and brought in two of three targets for 11 yards in the Buccaneers' 44-32 loss to the Bills on Sunday. White played a clear second fiddle on the ground to backfield mate Sean Tucker, who logged a season-high 19 carries and turned them into 106 yards and two rushing touchdowns. However, White had his share of productive gains against the Bills' suspect run defense, finishing with his second-highest rushing yardage total of the season. White also has double-digit carries in six straight games, but he could see his workload take a hit if Bucky Irving (foot/shoulder) is able to make his long-awaited return from injury on the road against the Rams in Week 12.
