  • Marlon Mack RB | ARI

Colts' Marlon Mack: Performs non-contact work

Mack (shoulder) donned a non-contact jersey and took part in drills during Thursday's practice, Zak Keefer of The Indianapolis Star reports.

It's a step in the right direction for Mack, but unless he's cleared to take contact during the team's final practice of the week Friday, his chances of suiting up in Week 4 against the Seahawks appear slim. Mack's probable absence would result in Robert Turbin serving as starter Frank Gore's primary backup, while the recently promoted Matt Jones would function as the team's No. 3 running back for the second straight week.

  • Melvin Gordon RB | BAL

Chargers' Melvin Gordon: On track to play Sunday

Chargers coach Anthony Lynn said Thursday that Gordon's knee injury isn't a concern and that the running back is in line to play Sunday against the Eagles, SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.

The knee injury, which is believed to be a minor bone bruise, limited Gordon's participation in practice Wednesday, but Lynn insinuated that the third-year player would do more work on the field during Thursday's session. Gordon ended up being forced out briefly during the Week 3 loss to the Chiefs due to the knee issue, but still only played 49 percent of the team's snaps in the contest. Assuming Gordon checks out OK during practices Thursday and Friday, he should be in store for a heftier workload in Week 4, though it's expected that backup Branden Oliver could be rotated in somewhat liberally.

  • D'Onta Foreman RB | CLE

Texans' D'Onta Foreman: Court date rescheduled for Nov. 1

Foreman, who was arrested in Austin in July and charged with possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of a handgun, has had his court date rescheduled for Nov. 1, John McClain of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Foreman's attorney, Chip Lewis, reiterated that he is confident the charges against his client will ultimately be dropped. However, both the Texans and the league office will presumably wait for the legal process to unfold before any sort of punishment is levied.

  • Thomas Rawls RB | JAC

Seahawks' Thomas Rawls: Not concerned about current role

Rawls said he trusts the Seahawks' coaching staff and isn't too concerned about his role in the team's offense, Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.

Rawls received just one snap and zero touches in last Sunday's 33-27 loss to the Titans, while rookie Chris Carson dominated early-down work. A likely upcoming absence for C.J. Prosise (ankle) does leave more snaps up for grabs in the backfield, but Prosise's role largely was limited to obvious passing downs, which aren't a strong suit for either Rawls or Eddie Lacy. The Seahawks could turn to Carson and/or J.D. McKissic for those duties, though both figure to represent a major downgrade from Prosise in the passing game. Rawls still expects the Seahawks will need him at some point this season, even if it doesn't happen Sunday against the Colts.

  • Derrick Henry RB | BAL

Titans' Derrick Henry: Practices without limitation

Henry (thigh) was a full practice participant Wednesday, Cameron Wolfe of ESPN.com reports.

This confirms the belief that Henry merely bruised his thigh in Sunday's 33-27 win over Seattle. He was able to rejoin the contest and finished with 64 yards on 14 touches. With DeMarco Murray (hamstring) also a full practice participant in the wake of a big Week 3 outing, Henry figures to operate as the clear backup Sunday in Houston.

  • Lions' Dwayne Washington: No practice Wednesday

    Washington (quadriceps) didn't practice Wednesday.

Washington is expected to miss at least one more game, so his absence Wednesday isn't very surprising. Barring any sort of rapid recovery the rest of the week, look for Zach Zenner to operate as the No. 3 tailback Sunday against the Vikings.

  • Marlon Mack RB | ARI

Colts' Marlon Mack: Misses another practice

Mack (shoulder) didn't participate in Wednesday's practice.

Mack sat out Sunday's 31-28 win over the Browns and is off to a poor start ahead of a Week 4 matchup with the Seahawks. Another absence would leave a bit more work in the backfield for Frank Gore and Robert Turbin.

  • Melvin Gordon RB | BAL

Chargers' Melvin Gordon: Expected to practice Thursday

Chargers coach Anthony Lynn said Gordon (knee) won't practice Wednesday but should return in some capacity Thursday, Ricky Henne of the Chargers' official site reports.

Gordon was limited to 45 percent of the Chargers' offensive snaps in Sunday's 24-10 loss to the Chiefs, though he still took 17 carries for 79 yards and a touchdown. His current injury is merely believed to be a minor bone bruise, albeit in the same left knee that he injured the past two seasons. Branden Oliver took on most of Gordon's vacated snaps in Sunday's loss, gaining 16 yards on eight carries and 18 yards on four catches. The Chargers seemingly expect Gordon to play through the injury again Sunday versus the Eagles.

  • Shane Vereen RB | NO

Giants' Shane Vereen: Tending to calf injury

Vereen didn't practice Wednesday due to a calf injury.

Both Vereen and Orleans Darkwa (back) emerged from Sunday's loss to the Eagles with injuries, which have forced both to focus on rehab rather than practice to begin Week 4 preparations. On the season, Vereen trails Paul Perkins, 79-67, in offensive snap count, but the former is the only Giants running back to surpass 100 yards from scrimmage (129, to be exact) through three games. With multiple injuries afflicting the backfield, it remains to be seen how the reps at running back will break down Sunday in Tampa Bay.

  • Cardinals' Kerwynn Williams: Effectively replaced

After getting the start in Week 2, Williams carried the ball once for three yards in Monday's 28-17 loss to Dallas.

Williams' carry came on his only snap of the game as Andre Ellington, Chris Johnson and Elijhaa Penny all saw the field more on offense. It seems like Williams' opportunity to fill in for David Johnson has already come and gone.
