  • Alvin Kamara RB | NO

Saints' Alvin Kamara: Limited practice again

Kamara (ribs) was limited at Thursday's practice, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.

Kamara continues to operate with limitations on his practice reps, with just one more opportunity to bump up to full before the Saints potentially give him a designation for Sunday's game against the Seahawks. For what it's worth, he's confident that he'll be able to play this weekend, telling Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com on Wednesday that he's "feeling great, healthy, ready to roll," and he's "going to be out there." If Kamara gains clearance to play, he may have to share touches out of the backfield with Mark Ingram, but the former still has averaged 14.5 touches per game in his two appearances this season.

  • Breece Hall RB | NYJ

Jets' Breece Hall: Another limited practice

Hall (knee) remained limited at practice Thursday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.

With back-to-back limited practices under his belt, Hall presumably will need to practice fully Friday in order to avoid a Week 5 injury designation. That said, so far there's been nothing to suggest that the rookie running back will miss Sunday's game against the Dolphins as he deals with what coach Robert Saleh described as "nicks and bruises" coming out of Week 4 action, per Ethan B. Greenberg of the Jets' official site.

  • Bears' David Montgomery: Limited in return to practice

Montgomery (ankle) practiced in a limited capacity Thursday.

This marks Montgomery's first on-field work since injuring his right ankle Week 3 against the Texans. It remains to be seen if he'll make enough progress to return to action Sunday at Minnesota, but Friday's practice report may be telling for his availability. If Montgomery is limited or out this weekend, Khalil Herbert would be the main beneficiary in the Bears backfield, with Trestan Ebner on hand for touches as well.

  • Devine Ozigbo RB | DET

Broncos' Devine Ozigbo: Up from practice squad

The Broncos have elevated Ozigbo from their practice squad ahead of Thursday night's game against the Colts, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports.

With Javonte Williams (knee) on IR, Ozigbo will provide the Broncos with some added Week 5 backfield depth behind Melvin Gordon and Mike Boone, while also providing the team with another special teams option. It remains to be seen how much he's involved in the team's offense Thursday, though, with Gordon in line to handle lead duties against the Colts.

  • J.K. Dobbins RB | DEN

Ravens' J.K. Dobbins: Present for practice Thursday

Dobbins (chest) returned to practice Thursday, Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Sun reports.

It remains to be seen if the Ravens list Dobbins as a limited or full participant, but his return to the field Thursday after missing Wednesday's practice bodes well for his chances of continuing to lead the team's ground game this weekend against the Bengals.

  • Justice Hill RB | BAL

Ravens' Justice Hill: Idle for another practice

Hill (hamstring) didn't participate in Thursday's practice, Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Sun reports.

While playing greater than a third of the snaps in both of the past two weeks and combining for 105 yards on 14 carries to go with two receptions for 12 yards in those contests, Hill has emerged as the top complement to J.K. Dobbins (chest), who made his season debut Week 3. After opening the week as a limited participant in practice, Dobbins looks on track to reprise his role as the Ravens' top back once again Sunday against the Bengals, but Hill's availability is less certain. Hill has now missed two straight practices to begin the week, so he'll almost certainly need to get back on the field in some capacity Friday to have a shot at suiting up versus Cincinnati. Mike Davis and Kenyan Drake are next up for work behind Dobbins, assuming the Ravens don't elect to immediately activate Gus Edwards (knee) from the PUP list following his return to practice this week.

  • Broncos' Latavius Murray: Candidate to be inactive Thursday

Murray isn't expected to be active for Thursday's game against the Colts, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Rapoport relays that Murray, who logged 11 carries for the Saints this past Sunday in London before being signed by Denver, is expected to debut with the Broncos in Week 6 against the Chargers. If Murray is indeed inactive Thursday, Melvin Gordon and Mike Boone would be in line to handle the Broncos' rushing duties versus the Colts now that Javonte Williams (knee) is on injured reserve.

  • D'Andre Swift RB | CHI

Lions' D'Andre Swift: Not likely to play Week 5

Swift (shoulder/ankle) isn't expected to return to action for Sunday's game at New England, but the Lions anticipate he'll be ready to play following the team's Week 6 bye, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.

Detroit hasn't officially ruled Swift out for Week 5, but his absence from practice Wednesday after missing last week's 48-45 loss to the Seahawks doesn't bode well for his chances of suiting up against the Patriots. The Lions' upcoming bye week should provide Swift with sufficient time to recover from the sprained left shoulder he suffered in the Week 3 loss at Minnesota, as well as the lingering ankle issue that first surfaced Week 2. Barring an unforeseen development, the 23-year-old should be ready to reclaim his usual three-down role with no restrictions Week 7 at Dallas, but expect Jamaal Williams to lead the Detroit backfield for a second straight game in the matchup with New England.

  • Rashaad Penny RB | CAR

Seahawks' Rashaad Penny: Tending to shoulder issue

Penny was a non-participant at Wednesday's practice due to a shoulder injury, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.

On the heels of his 151-yard, two-touchdown performance in a Week 4 win at Detroit, Penny had his shoulders heavily wrapped when he met with the media, according to Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune. At the outset of practice Wednesday, Penny was spotted on the side during warmups, per Brady Henderson of ESPN.com, and he apparently didn't take any reps during the closed portion of practice either. As a result, Penny's status will be one to monitor Thursday and Friday to get a sense of his potential to play Sunday in New Orleans. Rookie second-round pick Kenneth Walker and DeeJay Dallas are the next running backs behind Penny on the team's depth chart.

  • J.K. Dobbins RB | DEN

Ravens' J.K. Dobbins: Held out with chest injury

Dobbins missed Wednesday's practice with a chest injury.

Dobbins was slow to get up at one point in a 23-20 loss to the Bills this past Sunday, but he ended up playing down the stretch after Justice Hill left with a hamstring injury. Dobbins scored a pair of touchdowns early in the game but ultimately finished with modest production overall (13 carries for 41 yards and four catches for 22 yards). Dobbins is more likely than Hill to play this coming Sunday against the Bengals, but the Ravens will need some kind of contribution from Mike Davis or Kenyan Drake, and they might even need a replacement for Dobbins if his chest injury doesn't improve throughout the week.
