Rams' Ronnie Rivers: Back at practice
Rivers (calf) was designated to return from injured reserve Wednesday, Greg Beacham of the Associated Press reports.
Rivers made his return to practice Wednesday, operating as a full participant at the team's first session of the week, per Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com reports. The running back has been on injured reserve since late September after suffering a calf injury in Week 2 against the Giants, but he could be back in action as soon as Sunday versus the Commanders.

Rams' Ronnie Rivers: Goes to IR
The Rams placed Rivers (calf) on their injured reserve list Wednesday.
Per Stu Jackson of the Rams' official site, coach Sean McVay said Wednesday that Rivers' calf injury is expected to keep him sidelined for 4-to-6 weeks. McVay also said the team plans to elevate either undrafted rookie Dean Connors or Jordan Waters from its practice squad for Sunday's game at Denver.

During the 2025 regular season, Rivers recorded 46 yards on nine carries over 11 games while also returning 16 kicks for 418 yards. Now that he's back in the fold for a fifth season with the Rams, Rivers should continue to work in a similar role as a special-teamer who provides depth to a backfield that also includes Kyren Williams, Blake Corum and Jarquez Hunter.

Rivers returned four kickoffs for 107 yards during Sunday's 37-20 victory against the Cardinals.
Kyren Williams and Blake Corum became a formidable duo in 2025, combining for 404 carries, 1,998 yards on the ground and 16 touchdowns. This didn't leave much for Rivers, who finished his fourth year with the Rams with just 46 yards on nine carries over 11 games. Rivers did return 16 kicks for 418 yards, but the return role was a fairly even split with Corum, Jordan Whittington (knee) and Xavier Smith. With the Rams securely set with Williams, Corum and 2025 fourth-round pick Jarquez Hunter in the backfield, Rivers, who will be an unrestricted free agent at season's end, may test free agency to find a more secure role elsewhere. He'll next take on Carolina on Saturday in the wild-card round of the playoffs.

Rivers was elevated to the Rams' active roster for the second time this season and suited up after Jarquez Hunter (coach's decision) was made inactive for Sunday's game against the Saints. Rivers played just five snaps on special teams without showing up on the box score otherwise while the Rams stuck with their two-man backfield of Kyren Williams and Blake Corum.
