  • Texans' Ka'imi Fairbairn: Nails three field goals

Fairbairn converted three of three field-goal attempts in Sunday's 25-9 loss to the Ravens.

Fairbairn provided all the offense Houston could muster Sunday. Two of his three kicks came on drives that stalled in the red zone, which could be a feature of the Texans' offense during yet another rebuilding season. Fairbairn was successful on 94 percent of his attempts in 2022 and could be a valuable asset if given enough chances for field goals.

  • Dolphins' Jason Sanders: Near perfect in narrow win

Sanders converted all three of his field-goal attempts and three of four extra-point tries during Sunday's 36-34 win over the Chargers.

Sanders' lone PAT miss with less than two minutes left in the fourth quarter nearly overshadowed what was otherwise an outstanding Week 1 performance, but the Dolphins managed to secure the narrow win. Two of Sanders' field goals came from 40-plus yards out. Sanders doesn't project for as busy of a game versus the Patriots on Sunday Night Football in Week 2.

  • Cowboys' Brandon Aubrey: Overcomes jitters in NFL debut

Aubrey converted four of five extra-point tries and both his field-goal attempts in Sunday's 40-0 win over the Giants.

Making his NFL debut on a rainy night at MetLife Stadium, Aubrey shanked his first career PAT in the first quarter, but he shook it off and was perfect the rest of the game, drilling FGs of 21 and 38 yards along the way. He also got plenty of practice with kickoffs in the rout and put them all through the end zone, giving the Giants no opportunities for a big kick return that might have given them some momentum. Aubrey should have plenty of confidence after this performance, and his fantasy value is on the upswing heading into a Week 2 clash with Aaron Rodgers and the Jets.

  • Packers' Anders Carlson: Perfect in debut

Carlson made a 52-yard field goal and all five extra points he attempted in Sunday's 38-20 victory over the Bears.

It didn't take Carlson long to reward the faith the Packers placed in him after selecting him the sixth round of this year's draft, as he drilled the first field-goal attempt of his career right before halftime and was true on every kick he got up. It's of course early in the season, and it remains to be seen what type of consistency both Carlson and Green Bay's offense will develop. However, if both come close to what they showed in Week 1, the rookie could provide more value in fantasy leagues than anticipated.

  • Browns' Dustin Hopkins: Consistent in opener

Hopkins converted three of three field-goal attempts and his lone extra-point kick in Sunday's 24-3 win over the Bengals in Week 1.

For one week, the Browns and all those interested in the team's fate could breathe a sigh of relief. After Cade York's uneven finish to 2022 and troubling signs exhibited during the preseason, a team with playoff ambitions brought in Hopkins to stabilize its kicking game. He did so opening week.

  • Graham Gano K | NYG

Giants' Graham Gano: Dealing with right calf injury

Gano said after Sunday's loss to the Cowboys that he was cleated in the right calf after the blocked field goal in the first quarter but expects to be fine, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.

Gano was seen entering the X-ray room after Sunday's matchup, and he wasn't wearing a shoe on his right foot. However, he appears to be dealing with a calf injury that isn't believed to be particularly serious. A better idea of his status for next Sunday's game against Arizona should come into focus based on his participation in practice this week.

  • Graham Gano K | NYG

    Giants' Graham Gano: Undergoing X-rays

Gano went into the X-ray room after Sunday's loss to the Cowboys due to an apparent right foot injury, Charlotte Carroll of The Athletic reports.

The Giants were outplayed in nearly every area during Sunday's season-opening loss, and Gano missed two field-goal attempts. He had a 45-yard attempt blocked in the first quarter, and he missed a 36-yard try just before halftime. It's possible his injury contributed to his struggles, but the severity of the ailment isn't yet clear.

  • Buccaneers' Chase McLaughlin: Perfect showing in Week 1 win

McLaughlin drilled field-goal attempts from 36 and 57 yards and also connected on both his extra-point tries in the Buccaneers' 20-17 win over the Vikings on Sunday.

The Bucs couldn't have asked for a better regular-season debut performance from their new placekicker, with McLaughlin particularly impressing with his critical 57-yard make that snapped a 17-17 tie with 5:10 remaining and proved to be the final margin of victory. McLaughlin could potentially have plenty of games with 4-to-6 total kick attempts if a Buccaneers offense that undeniably has talent but a somewhat inconsistent quarterback in Baker Mayfield helming it continues to perform in similar fashion to Sunday. McLaughlin could have even more opportunities during a Week 2 home matchup against a Bears team that allowed a short-handed Packers squad to ring up 34 points against them Sunday.

  • Cairo Santos K | CHI

Bears' Cairo Santos: Scores six in opener

Santos converted both of his field-goal attempts in Sunday's 38-20 loss to the Packers.

Even though Chicago scored a pair of touchdowns, the team attempted two-point conversions each time as they tried to close a large deficit. Santos has been a very reliable kicker since joining the Bears, but he's yet to have the consistent scoring opportunities needed to be a reliable fantasy option.

  • Brett Maher K | LAR

Rams' Brett Maher: Set to start for Los Angeles

Maher was elevated from the Rams' practice squad Saturday.

The Rams didn't have a kicker on the active roster, so Maher appears locked into the starting role despite the elevation off the practice squad. The veteran kicker put together an outstanding regular season with the Cowboys in 2022, converting 29 of his 32 field-goal attempts, but a dreadful playoff stretch in which he missed six extra-point attempts saw the Cowboys opt not to retain him during the offseason.
