  • Reds' Tyler Stephenson: Resting Tuesday

Stephenson is not in the lineup Tuesday versus the Mariners.

Stephen will rest on the bench Tuesday after going 3-for-7 with two home runs over the last two games since he last sat on the bench Saturday. However, all three of those hits came in Sunday's 9-6 win over the Rockies as he failed to reach base in Monday's 8-0 loss to the Mariners. Jose Trevino has the start behind the dish and is batting seventh Tuesday.

  • Spencer Steer 1B | CIN

Reds' Spencer Steer: Absent from lineup

Steer is not in Tuesday's lineup versus Seattle following Monday's game in which he was hit in the ribs by a pitch.

Sal Stewart is starting at first base for Steer on Tuesday while Eugenio Suarez takes over at third and Nathaniel Lowe serves as the designated hitter. Steer underwent X-rays following Monday's game. The Reds finish off the series in Seattle on Wednesday before getting the day off Thursday as they head to St. Louis.

  • Otto Lopez SS | MIA

Marlins' Otto Lopez: Back in action Tuesday

Lopez (finger) will start at shortstop and bat leadoff Tuesday against the Astros, Kevin Barral of FishonFirst.com reports.

Lopez sat out the Marlins' last two games while recovering from a finger injury he suffered while fielding a groundball Saturday. The issue appears to have subsided ahead of Tuesday's contest, however, so he'll reclaim his regular spot at shortstop. The 27-year-old has had an outstanding July up to this point, slashing .345/.377/.618 with two homers, nine RBI, eight runs and two steals in 13 games.

  • White Sox's Colson Montgomery: Scratched from Tuesday's lineup

Montgomery (shin) was scratched from the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Rangers.

After fouling a pitch off his right shin Monday against the Rangers, the 24-year-old shortstop was initially penciled in to start Tuesday's contest. Montgomery will instead miss at least one start due to the injury and should be considered day-to-day with the bruise.

  • White Sox's Colson Montgomery: Scratched Tuesday

Montgomery (shin) was scratched from the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Rangers.

Montgomery was originally set to remain in the lineup Tuesday after fouling a ball off his right shin Monday, but he'll instead receive the day off to recover. Luisangel Acuna will fill in as Chicago's shortstop and bat eighth.

  • Tristan Beck RP | SF

    Giants' Tristan Beck: Recalled Tuesday

The Giants recalled Beck from Triple-A Sacramento on Tuesday, Evan Webeck of the California Post reports.

In a corresponding move, the Giants placed Trevor McDonald on the 15-day IL Tuesday due to an elbow strain. Beck made five appearances with Sacramento after being optioned June 24. Across those appearances, he gave up four earned runs on seven hits, two homers and five walks across 8.2 innings.

  • Phillies' Garrett Stubbs: Lands on injured list

The Phillies placed Stubbs on the 10-day injured list Tuesday, retroactive to July 18, due to left wrist inflammation, Lochlahn March of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

It's unclear how exactly Stubbs sustained the injury given that he hasn't seen game action since July 10, but he'll be unavailable for at least the next week. Bryan De La Cruz was added to the major-league roster in a corresponding move.

  • Giants' Trevor McDonald: Lands on injured list

The Giants placed McDonald on the 15-day injured list Tuesday with a right elbow strain, Evan Webeck of the California Post reports.

McDonald made an early exit from his start Monday after suffering an injury while warming up for the fifth inning, and he'll now officially have to miss a few turns through the rotation. Tristan Beck will come up from Triple-A Sacramento to give the Giants some extra bullpen depth while the team sorts out its rotation plans.

  • Rays' Richie Palacios: Out of Tuesday's lineup

Palacios is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Blue Jays.

Palacios started the previous three contests and will receive a day off after going 2-for-10 with two walks, a double, a steal and one run during that span. Ben Williamson is picking up a start at the keystone Tuesday and is batting seventh against Toronto righty Kevin Gausman.

  • White Sox's Colson Montgomery: Included in Tuesday's lineup

Montgomery (shin) will start at shortstop and bat cleanup in Tuesday's game against the Rangers.

Montgomery had to be lifted from Monday's series opener after fouling a ball off his right shin. However, he escaped with merely a contusion and is feeling well enough to give it a go Tuesday.
