The Orioles optioned Young to Triple-A Norfolk on Tuesday.

Young tossed five shutout innings in a spot start Monday against the White Sox, but the Orioles will nonetheless replace him on the roster with reliever Nick Raquet. Baltimore could recall Dean Kremer from Norfolk when it needs a starter for this weekend against the Giants.

Peters is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Orioles.

Peters has been a lineup regular to begin the season for the White Sox, but the results have been middling through nine games with a .269/.321/.308 slash line, one steal and a 35.7 percent strikeout rate. Austin Hays (hamstring) and Everson Pereira (ankle) are both on the injured list, which should give Peters some breathing room in regard to competition for playing time.

Murakami is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Orioles.

The 26-year-old started the White Sox's first 10 games of the season but will take a seat after going 2-for-16 in the past five contests. Murakami has showcased his power upside already with four homers, but his swing-and-miss propensity has also been evident in the form of a 31.0 percent strikeout rate. Lenyn Sosa is taking over at first base Tuesday for Chicago.

Baldwin underwent season-ending internal brace surgery last Wednesday to repair a UCL tear in his right elbow, Brooke Fletcher of the Chicago Sports Network reports.

Baldwin was hurt during spring training and was later diagnosed with a sprained UCL. The utility player elected to have surgery rather than treat the injury with rest and rehab, which has ended his 2026 campaign before it starts. Baldwin is expected to be ready for the start of spring training in 2027.

The Phillies activated Kerkering (hamstring) from the 15-day injured list Tuesday, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

Kerkering got a late start to the season after straining his right hamstring during spring training, but he's ready to roll after four rehab appearances. The 25-year-old will settle into a setup role for the Phillies, though he could be eased back into high-leverage situations following the layoff.

The Phillies optioned Backhus to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Tuesday, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

He's clearing out to make room on the active roster for Orion Kerkering (hamstring), who is returning from a stint on the 15-day injured list. Backhus has yielded three runs with a 4:1 K:BB over three innings out of the Phillies' bullpen this season.

Herrera has served as the personal catcher for Michael McGreevy and Andre Pallante and is expected to continue doing so at least through the end of April, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

The goal in having Herrera attached to two specific starters allows the Cardinals to simplify his game-planning duties and also ease his catching burden following offseason elbow surgery and a spring training knee issue. Additionally, with Herrera catching the team's two best groundball pitchers, it frees up the designated-hitter spot for Nolan Gorman and third base for a better defender in Ramon Urias. The Cardinals have been pleased with Herrera's work at catcher so far, as well as the health of his knee. If those things continue trending in a positive direction, Herrera will eventually take on additional catching responsibilities. If McGreevy and Pallante remain on the same schedule, Herrera should reach 10 games at catcher on April 24, which is the in-season eligibility threshold on most fantasy platforms.

The White Sox transferred Vasil (elbow) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Tuesday.

The move clears a spot on the 40-man roster for outfielder Dustin Harris, who was called up from Triple-A Charlotte. Vasil underwent Tommy John surgery in March and will be sidelined until around the middle of the 2027 season.

The White Sox selected Harris' contract from Triple-A Charlotte on Monday.

He's absorbing the roster spot vacated by the injured Austin Hays (hamstring). Harris could get some run in left field while Hays is out, and if that happens, his speed would make him worth a look in deep leagues. The 26-year-old went 33-for-37 in stolen-base attempts last season at Triple-A Round Rock in the Rangers organization and added an addition steal in a cup of coffee with the big club.

The White Sox placed Hays (hamstring) on the 10-day injured list Tuesday.

Hays suffered a right hamstring strain while playing the outfield during Monday's 2-1 win over the Orioles. Manager Will Venable said Tuesday that Hays' injury is considered a Grade 1 strain and will sideline the outfielder 2-to-4 weeks, per Bruce Levine of 670TheScore.com. Andrew Benintendi could see more action in left field while Hays is out, and Derek Hill, Tanner Murray and Dustin Harris are also options at the position for the White Sox.
