  • Tigers' Kerry Carpenter: Remaining on bench Tuesday

Carpenter (illness) is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Twins.

The 29-year-old was held out of the lineup Monday due to a stomach bug and will sit Tuesday for a second consecutive game. Carpenter should continue to be considered day-to-day as he recovers from the ailment.

  • Carlos Correa SS | HOU

    Astros' Carlos Correa: Resting Tuesday

Correa isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Rockies.

Correa is slashing .283/.360/.489 against southpaws since 2024, but he'll step out of the lineup Tuesday despite left-hander Kyle Freeland taking the mound for Colorado. Isaac Paredes will man the hot corner instead and bat fourth.

  • Ethan Pecko SP | HOU

Astros' Ethan Pecko: Begins rehab assignment

Pecko (thoracic outlet syndrome) struck out four over two scoreless innings Saturday in a rehab start for Single-A Fayetteville.

Pecko was missing in action during spring training, and now we know why, per Jim Callis of MLB Pipeline. It's encouraging to see Pecko dominate in his first rehab start -- he allowed two hits and zero walks -- and if he can eventually get back up to speed at Triple-A, he could still be a big-league rotation option later this summer.

  • Giants' Casey Schmitt: Starting as DH

Schmitt (back) is batting sixth as the designated hitter versus the Phillies on Tuesday.

Schmitt has been absent from the lineup since being scratched Friday due to back tightness. While the game Tuesday will be his first action since he went 3-for-3 last Thursday, Schmitt will not be fielding at first base as he eases back in.

  • Gavin Turley OF | ATH

Athletics' Gavin Turley: Out with fractured hand

Single-A Stockton placed Turley on the 7-day injured list April 2 with a fractured hand, Jonathan Mayo of MLB Pipeline reports.

Turley, the Athletics' fourth-round selection in last year's draft, hit .243 with a .336 OBP, four home runs and a 27.2 percent strikeout rate in 27 games at Single-A in 2025. It's unclear how close he is to game action.

  • Angels' Logan O'Hoppe: Resting Tuesday

O'Hoppe isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against Atlanta.

O'Hoppe will get a chance to rest after going 2-for-11 with two RBI and two runs scored over his last four games. Travis d'Arnaud will grab a start behind the plate and bat eighth.

  • Mike Trout CF | LAA

Angels' Mike Trout: Back in lineup Tuesday

Trout (hand) will start in center field and bat second Tuesday against Atlanta.

Trout took a day off Monday to recover after getting hit on the hand by a pitch Sunday, but he's now feeling well enough to return to the starting nine. The 34-year-old has gone just 1-for-20 with nine strikeouts over his last six games, but he still owns an .859 OPS for the season.

  • Josh Jung 3B | TEX

Rangers' Josh Jung: Not starting Tuesday

Jung is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Mariners.

Despite going 2-for-3 during Monday's series opener versus Seattle, Jung will sit Tuesday for the second time in Texas' past three games. He's struggled to get on track this year with a .188 average (6-for-32) through nine games, and he's still in search of his first extra-base hit. Ezequiel Duran will step in at third base and bat ninth.

  • Henry Baez SP | ATH

Athletics' Henry Baez: On shelf at Double-A

Double-A Midland placed Baez on the 7-day injured list April 2 with an elbow injury, Jonathan Mayo of MLB Pipeline reports.

Acquired from San Diego in last year's Mason Miller trade, Baez dealt with a forearm injury at the end of 2025 and is now out indefinitely to start 2026.

  • Marcell Ozuna DH | PIT

Pirates' Marcell Ozuna: On bench again Tuesday

Ozuna is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Padres.

Ozuna went 0-for-4 in Monday's series opener, dropping his season slash line down to .065/.171/.065 through 35 plate appearances. Brandon Lowe is resting his legs as the designated hitter Tuesday, opening up second base for Nick Gonzales.
