Victor Caratini C | MIN
Twins' Victor Caratini: Piling up starts
Caratini will start at catcher and bat sixth in Sunday's game against the Blue Jays.
With top backstop Ryan Jeffers receiving the afternoon off, Caratini will fill in behind the dish as he makes his seventh consecutive start -- three at first base, three at catcher and one at designated hitter. The veteran switch hitter is batting .286 (6-for-21) during that stretch with a double, two runs and three RBI.

Austin Martin SS | MIN
Twins' Austin Martin: Back on bench vs. righty
Martin is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Blue Jays.
The right-handed hitter had been in a corner outfield spot for four of the last five games, but all of those starts came against left-handed pitching. The Twins still appear to be treating Martin mostly as a short-side platoon player, so he'll likely continue to sit against most righties while Minnesota uses Trevor Larnach, Byron Buxton and Matt Wallner as its primary outfield configuration.

Francisco Alvarez C | NYM
Mets' Francisco Alvarez: Receiving breather Sunday
Alvarez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Athletics.
Alvarez started the previous six games and went 6-for-19 (.316) with three walk and a homer during that span, and he'll get a well-deserved day off. Luis Torrens will step in behind the plate to do the catching for righty Freddy Peralta.

Byron Buxton DH | MIN
Twins' Byron Buxton: Receiving afternoon off
Buxton is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Blue Jays.
With the Twins closing out their series in Toronto with a day game, Buxton will rest for just the second time in the team's first 16 contests of the season. James Outman will enter the starting nine in center field in place of Buxton.

Mark Vientos DH | NYM
Mets' Mark Vientos: Sitting amid slump
Vientos is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Athletics.
Vientos had settled in as the Mets' primary first baseman while Jorge Polanco (Achilles) is less than 100 percent but will hit the bench Sunday while in the midst of an 0-for-15 slump. Jared Young will take over at first base and bat third in the series finale versus the A's.

Luis Robert CF | NYM
Mets' Luis Robert: Out of Sunday's lineup
Robert is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Athletics.
It's likely just a maintenance day for Robert, who started the previous six games and batted .364 (8-for-22) with four walks, a homer, two steals and five runs during that span. Carson Benge will shift to center field for Sunday's series finale while Tyrone Taylor and Brett Baty start in the corners.

Jonathan Cannon P | CHW
White Sox's Jonathan Cannon: Recalled, slated for bulk relief
The White Sox recalled Cannon from Triple-A Charlotte on Sunday.
Right-hander Grant Taylor is slated to open the game for the White Sox, but he'll presumably be limited to an inning or two before giving way to Cannon, who is projected to work in bulk relief. Cannon will be stepping into to the rotation spot vacated by Opening Day starter Shane Smith, who was optioned to Triple-A on Wednesday. Through two starts with Charlotte this season, Cannon covered 8.2 innings and struck out 10 batters while allowing seven earned runs on 12 hits and four walks.

J.T. Realmuto C | PHI
Phillies' J.T. Realmuto: Getting break Sunday
Realmuto is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks.
Realmuto will head to the bench for Sunday's series finale after going 1-for-8 with a double and four strikeouts in the first two games of the series. Rafael Marchan will take over behind the plate and bat eighth.
