Ryan (glute) completed a 35-pitch bullpen session in St. Paul on Saturday, MLB.com reports.

The Twins are in the midst of a West Coast road trip, and Ryan opted to stay behind in Minnesota to join the organization's Triple-A affiliate to continue his throwing progression. After tossing 25 pitches in a bullpen session Tuesday, Ryan upped his count and also made use of his full arsenal. The Twins haven't revealed whether Ryan will require a rehab assignment prior to being activated from the 15-day injured list, but he'll presumably need to throw an extended live batting practice session at the very least before slotting back into the big-league rotation. Ryan has been on the shelf since Aug. 7 due to a mild left glute strain.
