Chris Murphy RP | CHW
White Sox's Chris Murphy: Makes rehab appearance
Murphy (forearm) began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday, pitching around two hits in a scoreless inning.
Murphy was diagnosed with a left flexor strain less than three weeks ago, so it's a pleasant surprise that he's pitching in games again already. Because his absence has been brief, he shouldn't need many -- if any -- more rehab outings before rejoining the big-league bullpen.

Michael Fulmer RP | NYY
Michael Fulmer: Takes route to free agency
Fulmer elected free agency Tuesday.
Fulmer cleared waivers after being removed from the Angels' 40-man roster, and he's opted for free agency in lieu of accepting an outright assignment. The veteran hurler tossed 3.2 scoreless frames during his time with the Halos.

Aaron Nola SP | PHI
Phillies' Aaron Nola: Quality start not enough Tuesday
Nola (5-10) took the loss Tuesday against the Mariners after allowing two runs on three hits and three walks while striking out seven over six innings.
Nola turned in a strong performance but was stuck with the loss. He surrendered a solo homer to Cal Raleigh in the second inning but kept Seattle off the board over the next three frames before Josh Naylor's RBI single broke a 1-1 tie in the sixth. Nola has pitched considerably better of late, posting a 2.79 ERA across five starts and 29 innings in August, but Philadelphia's offense provided little support Tuesday. His season ERA dropped from 5.12 to 5.03 with this quality start, and he's lined up to make his next start on the road against the Diamondbacks next week.

Andres Munoz RP | SEA
Mariners' Andres Munoz: Collects 24th save Tuesday
Munoz walked two and struck out two over a scoreless ninth inning to earn the save in Tuesday's 4-1 win over Philadelphia.
Munoz made things interesting by issuing a pair of walks while protecting a three-run advantage, but he prevented Philadelphia from capitalizing and closed the game with a strikeout of Bryan De La Cruz. The right-hander converted his 24th save in 32 opportunities, though his 4.28 ERA remains unusually high compared to his previous work as Seattle's closer.

Carlos Cortes LF | ATH
Athletics' Carlos Cortes: Homers, drives in two
Cortes went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 4-2 win over Minnesota.
Cortes supplied the game's first runs, taking Taj Bradley deep with two outs in the second inning after Alika Williams doubled, Cores' first homer since July 18. The blast proved particularly important with Gage Jump keeping Minnesota off the board until the seventh. Cortes has now gone deep eight times this season, while Tuesday's performance raised his batting average to .258 and his OPS to .739.

Gage Jump SP | ATH
Athletics' Gage Jump: Strikes out nine Tuesday
Jump (6-8) earned the win after Tuesday against the Twins, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks while striking out nine over 6.1 innings.
Jump kept Minnesota scoreless through six innings before running into trouble in the seventh, when he allowed two runs before being lifted. The left-hander still delivered one of his best performances of the season, pitching into the seventh for the first time since June 18 while generating nine strikeouts, his second-highest total of the year. Jump has now allowed three earned runs or fewer in three of his last four starts. He's lined up to make his next start next week against the Rangers.

Elvis Alvarado RP | ATH
Athletics' Elvis Alvarado: Secures fourth save
Alvarado struck out a batter during a perfect ninth inning to earn the save in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Twins.
Alvarado was tasked with protecting a two-run advantage and needed just seven pitches to retire Minnesota in order, closing out the victory for his fourth save of the season. The right-hander has increasingly worked in high-leverage situations and has converted his two save chances since the beginning of August. Alvarado still owns a 4.19 ERA, but his growing presence in the late innings gives him considerably more fantasy relevance than he carried earlier in the campaign. He has allowed runs in just one of his 12 relief appearances this month.

Steven Kwan LF | CLE
Guardians' Steven Kwan: Five-hit night in win
Kwan went 5-for-5 with a walk, an RBI and three runs scored in Tuesday's 8-6 extra-inning win over the Angels.
Kwan scored on all three of Jose Ramirez's doubles to help the Guardians overcome a 5-0 hole after two innings. Kwan, who has multiple hits in three straight games, has sizzled since the end of July, posting a .380/.482/.435 slash line with 23 runs scored over the last 23 contests.

Jose Ramirez 3B | CLE
Guardians' Jose Ramirez: Leads offense in win
Ramirez went 3-for-6 with three doubles, five RBI and a stolen base in Tuesday's 8-6 extra-inning win over the Angels.
Ramirez had his hands all over this comeback win. He went to work after the Guardians fell behind 5-0 after two innings. Ramirez had a pair of two-run doubles, including the go-ahead runs in the 10th inning, and another double that drove in one run. The cherry on top was his 30th stolen base of the season, giving the 33-year-old three consecutive seasons with at least that many steals.

Taj Bradley SP | MIN
Twins' Taj Bradley: Fans 11 but takes loss Tuesday
Bradley (9-6) took the loss against the A's on Tuesday after allowing four runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out 11 over 6.2 innings.
Bradley matched his season high in strikeouts and made history along the way, striking out the side on nine pitches in the fifth inning for the first immaculate inning in Twins history. However, Carlos Cortes tagged him for a two-run homer in the second, while Tommy White and Donovan Walton added RBI hits in the sixth. Despite the loss, Bradley generated double-digit strikeouts for the fifth time this season and pushed his season total to 169 across 147.1 innings. He's lined up to make his next start next week against the Tigers.
