  • Kody Clemens 1B | MIN

Twins' Kody Clemens: Out of lineup against lefty

Clemens is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Dodgers.

The left-handed-hitting Clemens has essentially been an everyday player for the Twins dating back to late April, but he will get a breather Tuesday versus Dodgers southpaw Justin Wrobleski. Kyler Fedko is getting the start in right field and will bat ninth.

  • Eury Perez SP | MIA

Marlins' Eury Perez: Confirmed to return Wednesday

Perez (gracilis) will return from the 15-day injured list to start Wednesday's game versus the Rangers, Stephen Strom of Marlins Radio Network reports.

Manager Clayton McCullough indicated Monday that Perez would return from the IL on Wednesday as long as the right-hander bounced back from a pitch-design session without incident, and that appears to have come to pass. Perez's absence due to a right gracilis muscle strain lasted four weeks, which is half of the initial projected timetable laid out by McCullough when the 23-year-old initially landed on the shelf May 29. He threw 51 pitches in his lone rehab start, so Perez's workload may be limited Wednesday.

  • Luke Raley RF | SEA

Mariners' Luke Raley: Back in action Tuesday

Raley (illness) is starting in right field and batting sixth Tuesday against the Pirates.

Raley is in the starting lineup for the first time since June 14, as he missed all three games versus Baltimore last week due to back tightness and the flu before the Red Sox started three straight left-handed pitchers over the weekend. The veteran outfielder has been productive this year with 14 homers, 35 RBI, 24 runs and an .801 OPS in 211 plate appearances, but he's racked up just 17 plate appearances versus southpaws and should continue operate as a strong-side platoon player in right field.

  • Mariners' Dominic Canzone: Not starting Tuesday

Canzone (hamstring) is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Pirates.

Canzone will miss at least one start after departing Sunday's game against the Red Sox due to a hamstring injury. The severity of the injury isn't clear, but the 28-year-old should be considered day-to-day until more information is available. Randy Arozarena (hamstring) is serving as the DH in his return from the injured list.

  • Jake Burger 1B | TEX

Rangers' Jake Burger: Not in Tuesday's lineup

Burger is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Marlins.

Burger started the previous 11 contests and will receive a day off after batting .289 (11-for-38) with two doubles and two homers during that span. Joc Pederson will receive a rare start at first base while Brandon Nimmo rests his legs as the designated hitter Tuesday.

  • Austin Wynns C | TEX

Rangers' Austin Wynns: Nets MiLB deal with Rangers

The Rangers signed Wynns to a minor-league contract Tuesday.

The 35-year-old Wynns is a career .228/.273/.342 hitter covering parts of eight major-league seasons. He will give the Rangers some experienced catching depth at Triple-A Round Rock.

  • Nathan Church LF | STL

Cardinals' Nathan Church: Not in starting lineup

Church is not in the lineup for Tuesday's contest against the Diamondbacks.

The lefty-swinging Church will exit the lineup while the Diamondbacks go with southpaw Eduardo Rodriguez on the bump. Lars Nootbaar is shifting over to center field for the Cardinals, and Nelson Velazquez will grab a start in left field.

  • Alec Burleson 1B | STL

Cardinals' Alec Burleson: Getting breather versus lefty

Burleson is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's contest versus the Diamondbacks.

With southpaw Eduardo Rodriguez toeing the rubber for Arizona, the left-handed-hitting Burleson will receive a rare day off. Blaze Jordan will move to first base, and Jose Fermin is getting a start at third base for the Cardinals.

  • Jared Jones SP | PIT

Pirates' Jared Jones: Next start uncertain

Jones had additional imaging on his right elbow come back clean and played catch Tuesday, though manager Don Kelly indicated it's too early to know if the right-hander will be ready for his next turn through the rotation, Colin Beazley of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Jones departed his start Sunday against the Rockies after being struck in the right elbow by a comebacker, and he's now had multiple rounds of medical imaging return negative. Those results are encouraging, but the 24-year-old's availability will likely depend on how he responds to his between-starts bullpen session, which should be scheduled for Wednesday or Thursday.

  • Konnor Griffin SS | PIT

Pirates' Konnor Griffin: Starting rehab assignment Wednesday

Manager Don Kelly announced that Griffin (forearm) will begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Altoona on Wednesday, Colin Beazley of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

The rookie shortstop has been rehabbing his forearm strain in Florida and has been cleared for game action after ramping up his throwing program over the past week. Per Dan Zangrilli of 93.7 The Fan Pittsburgh, Griffin could return to the Pirates' active roster as soon as this weekend's series against the Reds.
