Altuve (side) isn't in Houston's starting lineup Sunday against Texas.

It's not a surprise that Altuve isn't starting after he exited Saturday's matchup in the ninth inning with a left side injury. The star second baseman is slated to have an MRI taken Sunday, but GM Dana Brown said the "early signs" are that Altuve is dealing with an oblique injury, per Chandler Rome of The Athletic. Brice Matthews is starting at second base for the Astros on Sunday.

Kim is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Red Sox.

Kim started the past four games after being reinstated from the injured list Monday, and he'll receive a break after collecting just one hit in his first 18 plate appearances of the season. Jorge Mateo will take over at shortstop in the series finale versus Boston.

Misiorowski (quadriceps) is listed as the Brewers' probable starter for Tuesday's game against the Cubs, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

The 24-year-old departed his last start Wednesday versus San Diego due to quad cramps, but it looks like he'll be ready for his next turn through the rotation. Misiorowski has cramped up in two of three starts in May, but that hasn't stopped him from being a dominant force with a 29:4 K:BB and just six hits allowed across 18.1 scoreless innings this month.

Seager (back) is not in Texas' starting lineup Sunday versus the Astros.

Seager is out of the lineup for the third straight day, as he's said to be dealing with minor back spasms. The veteran shortstop is considered day-to-day, and it's unclear if he's available off the bench. Ezequiel Duran is starting at shortstop for the second straight day in Seager's stead.

The Tigers placed Madden on the 15-day injured list Sunday due to a bruised right forearm.

Madden was injured during his appearance in a 3-2 win over the Blue Jays on Friday, when he was struck by a comebacker. Subsequent X-rays were negative, but the right-hander is nonetheless going to need to take some time off. Right-hander Will Vest (forearm) was activated from the 15-day injured list in a corresponding roster move, though it's unclear which pitcher will take Madden's spot in the rotation.

Buxton (hip) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Brewers.

It's the fourth straight contest on the bench for Buxton as he continues to manage a hip injury. It's not clear how seriously the Twins have considered placing the outfielder on the injured list, but that possibility grows more likely with each additional game he misses. Ryan Kreidler is manning center field Sunday.

The Tigers activated Vest (forearm) from the 15-day IL on Sunday, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.

Vest will return after missing three weeks due to a forearm injury. He should immediately slot into a high-leverage role and will look to rebound from a rough start to the season, as he posted a 6.17 ERA and 1.46 WHIP over 13 appearances before being sidelined. Ty Madden is headed to the IL due to a bruised forearm, clearing a spot on the 26-man roster for Vest.

Caglianone isn't in the Royals' starting lineup Sunday versus St. Louis.

Caglianone will begin the game on the bench for the third time in the past five contests despite right-hander Andre Pallante being on the mound for the Cardinals. Caglianone has been fairly productive in May, batting .239 with three homers over 46 at-bats. Lane Thomas is starting in right field for the Royals on Sunday.

Yelich (back) is batting cleanup as the designated hitter Sunday against the Twins.

The veteran slugger made his return from a groin strain Tuesday versus San Diego but then missed four games due to back soreness. He's ready to rejoin the lineup after fully participating in pregame activities Saturday. Yelich is hardly in the clear given his long history of back problems, but his return is an encouraging sign for his season-long outlook.

The Guardians activated Walters (lat) from the 15-day injured list Sunday and optioned him to Triple-A Columbus, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.

Walters was placed on the IL in late March and missed nearly two months of action. Prior to getting hurt, he appeared in two games with Cleveland, allowing two earned runs on two hits while posting a 2:0 K:BB over 1.1 innings. He'll now look to ramp back up with Columbus.
