Athletics' Zack Gelof: Exits with hand injury
Gelof was removed from Tuesday's game against the Giants with a right hand laceration and contusion, Jason Burke of Roundtable.io reports.
Matt Chapman stepped on Gelof's hand while the latter tagged out the former at second base in the second inning. Gelof came out of the game immediately afterward, and it's unclear whether his injury will force him to miss additional games. The 26-year-old failed to record a base hit during his lone at-bat of the game, marking the end of his 24-game hitting streak.

X-rays on Lodolo's left wrist came back negative after Tuesday's loss to the Brewers, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.
Lodolo took a 107-mph line drive off his wrist in the fourth inning of Tuesday's contest and was pulled after finishing the frame. However, he seems to have escaped the incident without suffering any structural damage, and he could be good to go for his next start -- tentatively scheduled to come in Milwaukee on Monday -- if swelling doesn't become too much of an issue.

Cabrera was removed from Tuesday's game against the Mets with a left hamstring/adductor strain, Vinnie Duber of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Cabrera was hurt while extending to catch a throw to first base at the end of the fifth inning and appeared to be grabbing at his left thigh. The Cubs will presumably send the right-hander in for imaging to determine the severity of his injury, and an update on his status could come after the game.

In the meantime, Jared Young has shifted to left field while Mark Vientos has now entered the lineup at first base.
