Abrams went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run and an additional run scored in Wednesday's 8-4 win over the Mets.

The shortstop cracked his first homer since launching a grand slam during the May 6 victory over Minnesota. Abrams has hit safely in seven of his last nine games, turning in multiple hits on five occasions during that stretch. He's pushing for his second career All-Star nod in 2026, slashing a potent .300/.389/.539 with 22 extra-base hits (10 home runs), 42 RBI, seven stolen bases and 32 runs scored through 211 trips to the plate.

Soto went 2-for-4 with two home runs and three RBI in Wednesday's 8-4 loss to Washington.

The All-Star slugger is locked in at the plate, crushing five homers during his current seven-game hitting streak. Soto has nine RBI during that stretch, tallying multiple hits five times over that span as well. Across 148 plate appearances overall, he's slashing a robust .299/.392/.559 with 14 extra-base hits (nine home runs), 20 RBI, four stolen bases and 21 runs scored.

Mitchell was removed from Wednesday's game against the Cubs due to back tightness, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Mitchell said after the game that his removal was precautionary, and he didn't seem too concerned about it becoming a serious issue. He'll have a chance to rest and recover during the Brewers' day off Thursday, which could help him return to the starting nine for Friday's series opener against the Dodgers. If Milwaukee elects to hold him out, Blake Perkins would be in line for a start in the outfield.

Littell (3-4) earned the win Wednesday against the Mets, allowing two runs on five hits and no walks in five innings. He struck out three.

Following an abysmal start to the season, Littell is finally starting to find a rhythm on the mound. The 30-year-old right-hander served up a whopping 13 home runs across his first 28.2 innings of the year, but he's given up just two long balls over his last 17.2 frames in May en route to posting a 2.55 ERA and 0.96 WHIP during that span. Littell will be looking to further improve on a 5.83 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 23:15 K:BB through 10 starts (46.1 innings) in his next scheduled outing versus Cleveland.

Thornton (0-1) took the loss Wednesday against Washington, allowing four runs on four hits and two walks in 4.1 innings. He struck out three.

Making his first career major-league start, Thornton struggled across the board Wednesday. The Nationals ambushed the southpaw for three runs in the first inning, but Thornton was at least able to settle down a bit afterward and hold Washington to one run across his next 3.1 frames. He's next tentatively set to take the ball against the Reds for the next turn through the rotation, but it remains to be seen if the Mets will call up Jonah Tong to fill that slot.

Duran went 2-for-5 with a triple, a home run and two RBI in Wednesday's 4-3 win over Kansas City.

One day after whacking a three-run home run, Duran launched a two-run blast in the seventh inning Wednesday that proved to be the game-winning hit. The outfielder's bat has come alive over the last week, as he's gone 7-for-19 with three doubles, one triple, two home runs and six RBI over the last five contests.

McKinstry went 2-for-4 with an RBI in Wednesday's 3-2, 10-inning loss to the Guardians.

McKinstry was the only Detroit player with multiple hits, and it was his first time doing so since all the way back on April 4. It's been a struggle offensively for the veteran utility player, who is batting just .186 with a .503 OPS this season. McKinstry was much better during the 2025 regular season with a .259 average and .771 OPS, but he has career marks of just .229 and .671, respectively, and 2026 has seen regression set in.

Smith went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run and an additional run scored in Wednesday's 9-1 win over Miami.

Smith snapped a long homer drought Wednesday, as his last long ball came over a month ago during an April 17 win in Philadelphia. The 30-year-old journeyman has found a home in 2026 as Atlanta's primary designated hitter against right-handed pitching, as injuries have disrupted the team's plan to give most of that playing time to their catching duo of Drake Baldwin (oblique) and Sean Murphy (finger). Through 98 at-bats in 39 games, Smith is hitting a torrid .337 with nine extra-base hits, 22 RBI and 15 runs scored.

Vest allowed a run on two hits across an inning of work and was charged with a blown save in Wednesday's 3-2, 10-inning loss to the Guardians. He struck out one.

The Tigers decided to use regular closer Kenley Jansen in the eighth inning against the top of Cleveland's lineup to protect a 1-0 lead. That left the ninth for Vest, and the veteran allowed the lead to slip away on a pair of hits and an RBI groundout. Vest has struggled this year with a 5.93 ERA across 13.2 innings, blowing two saves in his past four appearances. His early season performance should leave no doubt that Jansen is locked in as Detroit's closer.

Sale (7-3) earned the win Wednesday against Miami, allowing one run on four hits and no walks in seven innings. He struck out eight.

The All-Star southpaw found himself in peak form again Wednesday, generating 18 whiffs en route to fanning at least seven for a sixth consecutive start. Sale has now spun at least six frames while yielding one or no earned runs in eight of his 10 outings on the year. He'll take a career-best 1.89 ERA, 0.87 WHIP and 72:14 K:BB over 62 innings into his next appearance, which tentatively lines up to come in Boston against the Red Sox.
