Atlanta transferred Waldrep (elbow) to the 60-day injured list Thursday.

The move frees up a spot on the 40-man roster for waiver claim Maverick Handley. It does not alter Waldrep's timetable, as he is recovering from elbow surgery and not expected to be an option for Atlanta until late June at the earliest.

Norby isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game against Atlanta.

Norby will grab a seat on the bench to begin Thursday's finale after going 1-for-10 with three walks, two runs and a steal over the first three games of the series. Javier Sanoja will pick up a start at third base as a result and bat ninth.

Senga (back) will begin a rehab assignment with Single-A St. Lucie on Friday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Senga has been throwing at the Mets' spring training complex in Florida and is ready to test things out in a game setting. The 33-year-old right-hander posted a 9.00 ERA in his first five starts before landing on the 15-day injured list in late April with lumbar spine inflammation, so the Mets will want Senga to look crisp in addition to feeling healthy before they consider re-inserting him into the big-league rotation.

DeJong has been placed on the full-season injured list at Triple-A Toledo with a leg injury, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

DeJong was injured May 12 just a week after signing a minor-league deal with the Tigers. The club has not revealed the exact nature of the veteran infielder's injury, but whatever it is was enough to knock him out for the rest of the season. DeJong will be a free agent this winter.

Stefanic re-signed Wednesday with the Athletics on a minor-league contract.

The Athletics designated Stefanic for assignment over the weekend, and upon clearing waivers, the 30-year-old infielder elected free agency. He was on the open market for just two days before opting to return to the Athletics organization and agreeing to report to Triple-A Las Vegas. Before being dropped from the 40-man roster, Stefanic saw action in two games for the Athletics and went 2-for-5 with a run.

Chapman went 2-for-4 with two runs scored in Wednesday's 6-3 loss to Arizona.

Chapman singled in the second inning before coming around to score, and he added another base hit and run in the fourth. The veteran third baseman hit just .083 in his first 13 appearances in May, though he's logged at least one hit in four of his last five outings since. Overall, he's now slashing .226/.301/.312 with 20 runs scored, 16 RBI and a home run across 206 plate appearances this season.

The Marlins transferred Snelling (elbow) to the 60-day injured list Thursday.

Snelling is set to meet with Dr. Keith Meister on Thursday to determine whether surgery is necessary to repair the sprained UCL in his left elbow. The young southpaw is facing an extended absence regardless of whether he needs to go under the knife, so the Marlins will stash him away on the 60-day IL. The move clears space on the 40-man roster for Rece Hinds, who was acquired in a trade with the Reds on Thursday.

The Astros optioned Murray to Triple-A Sugar Land on Thursday, reports Brian McTaggart of MLB.com.

The 29-year-old will be replaced by Alimber Santa on Houston's 26-man active roster. Murray struggled in his most recent appearance Monday against Minnesota, allowing three earned runs on four hits and two walks. He has given up at least two earned runs in four of his seven appearances with Houston this season.

Eldridge went 1-for-4 with an RBI double in Wednesday's 6-3 loss to the Diamondbacks.

Eldridge hit an RBI double in the second inning to give San Francisco an early 2-1 lead, albeit in a losing effort. The 21-year-old's two-bagger was just his second extra-base hit of the season. Eldridge has logged at least one hit in each of his last two appearances and is now slashing .156/.229/.281 with two RBI, a run scored and a home run across 35 plate appearances on the campaign.

Devenski (illness) was cleared to resume all baseball activities last week and began throwing bullpen sessions May 13, Colin Beazley of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Devenski was placed on the shelf May 7 due to an unspecified illness, but he seems to be making good progress in his recovery. The veteran right-hander could be cleared to head out on a brief rehab assignment in the coming days before returning from the 15-day injured list.
