Crow is slated to start Friday's game against the Astros in Houston, Sophia Minnaert of Brewers.tv reports.

Milwaukee recalled Crow from Triple-A Nashville earlier Tuesday as the corresponding move to Logan Henderson landing on the 15-day injured list due to a low back strain. Crow will wind up taking Henderson's spot in the rotation in what will be the former's third start of the season with Milwaukee. The 25-year-old right-hander wasn't able to pick up a win in either of his first two starts, but he pitched effectively in road outings versus the Marlins and Twins, covering a combined 10.1 innings while striking out seven and yielding three runs on seven hits and one walk.

Manager Torey Lovullo said Tuesday that Smith (elbow) could return from the injured list sometime during Arizona's series against the Dodgers next week, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.

Smith began a rehab assignment in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League on Monday. Although his extended stint on the IL following elbow surgery would suggest that he's due for a lengthy stay in the minors, the Diamondbacks are seemingly trying to bring him back relatively quickly. Once activated, Smith will contend for starts against right-handers at first base and at designated hitter.

Vaughn is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Cardinals.

Vaughn drew starts at first base in each of the last four games and went 6-for-16 with three doubles, two RBI and two runs during that stretch, bringing his OPS up to .934 for the season. The 28-year-old is locked into a full-time role against left-handed pitching, but his playing time versus righties may be more variable while Milwaukee has all of its key position players available and while Jake Bauers has produced a healthy .855 OPS versus right-handed pitching thus far.

Ortiz is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Cardinals.

Though he'll head to the bench Tuesday, Ortiz may have recaptured a regular role on the left side of the Milwaukee infield. He occupied shortstop in each of the last five games, going just 2-for-14 but drawing four walks during that stretch. Ortiz will take a seat in favor of Luis Rengifo, who will enter the starting nine at third base while David Hamilton slides over to shortstop.

Jax was removed from Tuesday's game against the Orioles after getting hit by a comebacker, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Jax took a 107.2-mph line drive off his back during the second inning of Tuesday's contest. He remained in the game immediately afterward and was able to finish the inning, but the Rays replaced him on the mound in the third. He'll presumably undergo testing to determine the severity of the damage done, and the Rays could have an update on his status in the near future.

Pages is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Brewers.

The Cardinals will give Pages a break after he started behind the plate in both of the team's past two games. Ivan Herrera will handle catching duties Tuesday, opening up the designated-hitter spot for Yohel Pozo.

Gorman is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Brewers.

The Cardinals will give the left-handed-hitting Gorman a breather while southpaw Kyle Harrison toes the rubber for Milwaukee. Gorman will be replaced at third base by Jose Fermin, who will bat fifth.

Cabrera signed a minor-league contract with the Royals on Tuesday.

Cabrera had been on the market for about a week and a half after the Phillies released him earlier this month following a brutal outing at Triple-A Lehigh Valley in which he retired just one batter while allowing eight earned runs. The right-hander made 40 appearances in the majors in 2025 across stops with four different clubs, but despite getting another opportunity in the Royals organization, Cabrera has some work to do in the minors before getting another look in the big-league bullpen. He posted a 10.38 ERA and 1.81 WHIP over 17.1 innings with Lehigh Valley prior to being cut loose.

Webb (knee) will be activated from the 15-day injured list to start Friday against the Rockies, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Manager Tony Vitello previously disclosed the team's plan for Webb to return this upcoming weekend, and Friday is now official. Prior to landing on the IL, Webb had posted an uncharacteristically high 5.06 ERA and 1.40 WHIP over 48 innings spanning eight starts for San Francisco. Webb made a rehab start at Triple-A last Friday, allowing one unearned run on two hits and three walks while striking out two over 3.1 innings (62 pitches).

Massey is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Yankees.

The left-handed-hitting Massey often sits against southpaws, but he'll hit the bench versus a righty (Cam Schlittler) on Tuesday. Nick Loftin will fill in at the keystone in place of Massey, who has produced an underwhelming .231/.241/.404 slash line with two home runs and one stolen base thus far in May.
