The Padres recalled Sears from Triple-A El Paso on Tuesday.

Assuming he isn't need in relief for Tuesday's game against Atlanta, Sears could draw the start for Wednesday's series finale. Lucas Giolito had been lined up to start or work in bulk relief Wednesday, but he was instead placed on the 15-day injured list due to right elbow inflammation. The 30-year-old Sears has languished over 14 starts with El Paso this season, pitching to a 7.92 ERA and 1.84 WHIP across 63.2 innings.

San Diego recalled JP Sears from Triple-A El Paso, and he could be called upon to fill Giolito's spot in the rotation, which comes up Wednesday versus Atlanta. Since being summoned from the minors to enter the San Diego rotation in mid-May, Giolito hasn't found much success over his seven outings with the big club. Between five starts and two bulk-relief appearances, Giolito has submitted a 5.16 ERA, 1.85 WHIP and 18:23 K:BB in 29.2 innings.

Peralta will start Tuesday's game against Atlanta as an opener.

It'll be the third opening assignment of the season for Peralta, all of which have come over the past eight days. The left-hander will likely cover an inning or two before turning things over to Griffin Canning as the bulk reliever, per Lindsay Crosby of BravesToday.com.

Dollander underwent an internal brace procedure on his right elbow Monday, Kevin Henry of The Denver Gazette reports.

Although Dollander managed to avoid undergoing a full Tommy John procedure, the operation will still put an early end to his second MLB season. He showed significant improvement in 2026, turning in a 3.89 ERA and 1.30 WHIP alongside a 47:18 K:BB in 44 innings across 10 appearances (three starts). A clearer timeline for his return could emerge as the 2027 campaign approaches.

Manager Dave Roberts said Tuesday that Tucker (back) will likely remain out for the remainder of the team's series against the Twins, Dylan Hernandez of the California Post reports.

Tucker was pulled from Monday's contest due to lower-back spasms, and although the Dodgers are still optimistic he won't require a stint on the injured list, it sounds like his next opportunity to join the starting nine will come Friday in San Diego. Alex Call is set to start in right field Tuesday and could continue to do so until Tucker is cleared to return.

Mayer is not in the lineup Tuesday versus the Rockies due to a sore left foot, Tim Healey of The Boston Globe reports.

Mayer fouled a pitch off of his left foot in a recent game, which has left him walking with a limp. As he rests up Tuesday, Anthony Seigler is starting at second base and batting ninth.

Gasper is not in the lineup Tuesday versus the Rockies.

Gasper will rest on the bench Tuesday after going 1-for-5 with two walks across the last two games since Sunday. Connor Wong has the start at catcher and is batting eighth.

Gonzalez (shoulder/hip) said Tuesday that he expects to return from the injured list and make his season debut Saturday against the Yankees, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.

Gonzalez has been on the injured list all season as he works his way back from shoulder surgery, though he was pulled from his rehab game at Double-A Portland on Saturday due to soreness in his hip. His hip injury turned out to be minor, and he's now set to spend the next couple of days continuing his rehab assignment at Triple-A Worcester before returning over the weekend. Once activated, he shouldn't have a problem working into Boston's lineup, though the team may slowly ease him back into regular action.

Manager Aaron Boone said that McMahon isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against Detroit due to an ear/throat infection, Pete Caldera of The Bergen Record reports.

Although McMahon will be in the dugout for the beginning of Tuesday's contest, Boone noted that there's a chance the 31-year-old could be available off the bench. Jose Caballero will get the nod at the hot corner and bat seventh while McMahon sits.

Tucker (back) is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Twins.

Tucker will miss at least one start after exiting Monday's series opener due to lower-back spasms but said he's "pretty confident" he won't require a trip to the injured list, per Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic. Alex Call is picking up a start in right field Tuesday with Tucker banged up.
