Greene went 3-for-4 with a walk, a double, a solo home run and three total RBI in Monday's 10-9 win over the Rays.

Greene was right in the middle of Detroit's offensive onslaught Monday, as he lifted one of the team's five home runs. The talented outfielder only has five long balls through 61 games, putting him well behind last year's pace, when he blasted a career-high 36 homers in 157 regular-season games. However, Greene has otherwise been excellent with a .309/.399/.450 slash line, and the batting average and on-base percentage would both be new career bests.

Manager Kevin Cash said after Monday's 10-9 loss to the Tigers that Simpson (mouth) is expected to play Tuesday against Detroit, Ryan Bass of Rays.tv reports.

Simpson was removed from Monday's contest after he sustained a busted lip when his helmet fell off and came up to strike him in the mouth. Simpson required stitches but is otherwise fine. He went 1-for-2 with a single prior to leaving Monday.

Carpenter was one of four Detroit players to go deep in an offensive explosion Monday. The outfielder just returned from the injured list Sunday after missing about three weeks due to an AC joint sprain in his left shoulder, and the long ball was his first since April 24. Carpenter is still looking to hit his stride this year, and the injury certainly disrupted his momentum, but the 28-year-old is capable of heating up in a hurry.

Madden took a no-decision Monday against the Rays, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks in 3.1 innings. He struck out four.

After missing about two weeks with a right forearm contusion, Madden got a very quick hook Monday in a subpar outing. The 26-year-old right-hander made his first start of the season following three relief appearances, and he threw only 48 pitches (28 strikes) before his evening came to a close. Madden, who has a 3.07 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 16:4 K:BB over 14.2 innings, could be headed back to Detroit's bullpen when Justin Verlander (hip) is ready to rejoin the rotation.

The Rangers released Sborz on Monday, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Sborz has spent most of the season with Triple-A Round Rock and hasn't appeared in a big-league game since the 2024 regular season. Across 16.1 minor-league innings to start 2026, Sborz has pitched to a 7.16 ERA, 1.71 WHIP and 17:12 K:BB. The 32-year-old will look for an opportunity elsewhere.

The Pirates activated Mlodzinski (personal) from the restricted list Monday, Jason Mackey of MLB.com reports.

Mlodzinski's stay on the restricted list lasted 24 hours after he expressed frustration following his removal from the Pirates rotation following the return of Jared Jones from the injured list this past weekend. While speaking to Mackey on Monday, Mlodzinski said that he's willing to do whatever he can to help the team, and for now, he's expected to fill a key role out of the bullpen. The right-hander had uneven results as a starter and has often been hit hard this season, as he currently sits in the second-percentile of all pitchers with a hard-hit rate of 50.9 percent. The move to relief should enhance Mlodzinski's effectiveness, and the Pirates could even deploy him in high-leverage spots since the back end of the bullpen has been a weak spot for the team this season.

Neto was scratched from the lineup for Monday's game against Colorado due to whiplash, reports Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com.

Neto is still dealing with whiplash after his recent collision at home plate during Saturday's game in Tampa Bay. Oswald Peraza will replace Neto at shortstop and bat fifth in the lineup for the series opener.

Senga (spine) is slated to make the third start of his rehab assignment Wednesday with Triple-A Syracuse, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

Senga will aim to throw around 85 pitches Wednesday after tossing 3.2 innings and 80 pitches in his most recent appearance for Syracuse last Thursday. Senga has recorded a 5.14 ERA, 1.57 WHIP and 7:3 K:BB across seven innings between his first two rehab outings with Single-A St. Lucie and Syracuse, but if he shows improved results Wednesday, the 33-year-old could be cleared to make his next start in the big leagues. Senga has been on the shelf since April 28 due to lumbar spine inflammation.

Schanuel (ankle) has started to run, take grounders and has done shuffling drills, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

After landing on the IL on Wednesday, Schanuel has begun participating in his first drills since the injury took place. The 24-year-old has not begun running at full intensity quite yet, but he felt fine at the pace he was going at Monday. The next step in the recovery process for Schanuel is hitting.

Walls (hamstring) was removed from Monday's game against the Tigers in the third inning for precautionary reasons due to tightness in his left hamstring, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

The Rays are being cautious with Walls because he missed two games last week due to the same injury. He was replaced by Oliver Dunn, who was then later replaced at shortstop by Ben Williamson.
