  • Angels' Travis d'Arnaud: Dealing with foot issue

Manager Kurt Suzuki said Wednesday that d'Arnaud is dealing with pain in his foot, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

D'Arnaud came out of Wednesday's game against the White Sox in the fifth inning after attempting to leg out an infield single. He reportedly had trouble putting weight on his foot after exiting, so the Angels will send him in for further testing. More will be known about the severity of his injury once the results come back, but Sebastian Rivero could be in line to make a start or two behind home plate once the Angels begin their weekend series in Toronto.

  • Cam Sanders RP | PIT

Pirates' Cam Sanders: Joining Pittsburgh's taxi squad

Sanders is with the Pirates' taxi squad in Arizona prior to Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks, Colin Beazley of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

It's not clear what the Pirates' plans are for Sanders, but the 29-year-old right-hander could be deployed out of bullpen at some point during the team's road trip. He's spent the majority of the season in Triple-A but has appeared in three major-league games, allowing four runs on four hits and two walks while striking out four across three innings.

  • Jose Fernandez SS | ARI

Diamondbacks' Jose Fernandez: Losing starts to Del Castillo

Fernandez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Pirates.

Fernandez will be on the bench for the second day in a row, with both of his absences coming against right-handed pitchers. Though Fernandez maintains a .775 OPS on the season compared to Adrian Del Castillo's .657 mark, the latter's standing as a left-handed batter could afford him most of the playing time at designated hitter. Arizona previously had regular at-bats against right-handed pitching available for both players between DH and catcher, but Gabriel Moreno's recent return from the injured list will limit Del Castillo's opportunities to pick up starts behind the dish moving forward.

  • Reds' Tyler Stephenson: Not starting Wednesday

Stephenson is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cubs.

Stephenson appears to be receiving a routine breather after he started behind the plate in five of the Reds' previous six games. Jose Trevino will get the nod at catcher Wednesday.

  • Ke'Bryan Hayes 3B | CIN

Reds' Ke'Bryan Hayes: Taking seat Wednesday

Hayes is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cubs.

Hayes occupied third base for the first two games of the series and went 1-for-7 with a home run and a walk. The long ball -- Hayes's second of the season -- brought his batting average up to .121 on the year. He'll cede the hot corner to Sal Stewart on Wednesday and could see his playing time start to dwindle a bit more if he remains an easy out at the plate.

  • Royals' Jac Caglianone: Sitting Wednesday

Caglianone is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Guardians.

After starting each of the Royals' first five games of May and going a collective 4-for-17 with two home runs, two walks, four RBI and three runs, Caglianone will receive a night off Wednesday. Starling Marte will check in for Caglianone in right field and will bat sixth.

  • Tyrone Taylor RF | NYM

Mets' Tyrone Taylor: Not in Wednesday's lineup

Taylor is not in the Mets' starting lineup against the Rockies on Wednesday, Manny Randhawa of MLB.com reports.

Taylor will be out of the Mets' lineup for a second consecutive game while the team starts Juan Soto, Carson Benge and MJ Melendez in the outfield from left to right. Taylor has struggled at the plate of late, having gone 3-for-22 (.136) with one RBI over his last eight outings.

  • Travis Bazzana 2B | CLE

Guardians' Travis Bazzana: Receiving first night off

Bazzana is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Royals.

With a tough southpaw (Cole Ragans) on the hill for the opposition, the Guardians will give the left-handed-hitting Bazzana his first night off since he was promoted from Triple-A Columbus on April 28. Through his first seven big-league games, Bazzana has gone 4-for-23 with two stolen bases, four runs, two RBI and a 6:4 BB:K.

  • Bo Naylor C | CLE

Guardians' Bo Naylor: Idle against lefty

Naylor is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Royals.

With a lefty (Cole Ragans) on the bump, the left-handed-hitting Naylor will take a seat Wednesday. Austin Hedges will handle catching duties for the Guardians.

  • Steven Kwan CF | CLE

Guardians' Steven Kwan: Taking seat Wednesday

Kwan is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Royals.

After going 0-for-12 over his last three games, the left-handed-hitting Kwan will be given a chance to catch his breath Wednesday rather than going up against a tough left-hander in Royals ace Cole Ragans. Angel Martinez will step in in as the Guardians' left fielder and leadoff man in place of Kwan, who had started each of the previous nine contests.
