The Giants recalled Koss from Triple-A Sacramento on Wednesday.

With Matt Chapman (abdomen) being placed on the injured list, Koss is back with the big-league club for the first time since May 15. Koss made the Opening Day roster for San Francisco but batted just .071/.133/.143 in 15 plate appearances before being demoted. The 28-year-old played in just three games for Sacramento before suffering a fractured wrist. After completing a rehab assignment, Koss has been cleared to return to action and will start Wednesday at shortstop while batting ninth versus the Diamondbacks.

The Giants placed Chapman on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with an abdominal strain, Justice delos Santos of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Chapman had to make an early exit from Tuesday's game against Arizona after suffering the injury, and he's now set to miss at least most, if not all, of what's left of the first half of the season. Christian Koss will come up from Triple-A Sacramento to replenish San Francisco's infield depth and could make a handful of starts while Willy Adames continues to deal with a back injury.

DeLauter went 3-for-5 with a double, a run scored, an RBI and a stolen base in Wednesday's 9-4 win over the Rangers.

The rookie right fielder paced the Guardians' 11-hit attack on the afternoon, as DeLauter extended his hit streak to 10 games -- a streak that began in early June, prior to a two-week stint on the IL due to a rib injury. Over four contests since coming off the IL, the 24-year-old has gone 8-for-18 (.444) with three doubles, three runs and four RBI.

Cantillo (7-3) picked up the win in Wednesday's 9-4 victory over the Rangers, allowing two runs on three hits and five walks over five innings. He struck out four.

The five free passes were a season-worst performance from Cantillo, who tossed just 53 of 93 pitches for strikes, but the left-hander was able to limit the damage as all three hits off him were singles. He's won three of his last four starts while not giving up more than two runs in any of those outings, posting a 1.88 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 25:8 K:BB through 24 innings over that stretch. Cantillo will look to tighten things up in his next trip to the mound, which lines up to come on the road early next week in Minnesota.

Gore (5-7) took the loss Wednesday, giving up five runs on seven hits and a walk over five innings as the Rangers fell 9-4 to the Guardians. He struck out seven.

All five runs against the southpaw came in the second inning, highlighted by a three-run homer from David Fry, and Texas offense was never able to climb out of the hole. It's the first time since May 7 that Gore has been tagged for more than four runs, but since the beginning of June he's stumbled to a 4.92 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 39:12 K:BB over 34.2 innings. He'll look to get back on track in his next start, which is scheduled to come at home early next week against the Angels.

Tavares went 1-for-3 with a walk, a solo home run, a second run scored and a stolen base in Wednesday's 6-1 win over the White Sox.

Getting the start in center field and batting seventh against left-hander Noah Schultz, Tavares swiped his 10th bag of the year in the sixth inning before swatting his third homer of the season, and first since April 20, in the eighth off Brandon Eisert. With the Orioles' outfield fully healthy again, Tavares will get most of his playing time in a short-side platoon role in place of either Colton Cowser or Dylan Beavers. Through 75 games, Tavares sports a .696 OPS that would be his best mark since 2023.

Dreyer will start Wednesday's game against the Athletics.

The Dodgers will rely on their bullpen to get through Wednesday's contest, and it'll be Dreyer getting the call to take the mound for the first inning. The 27-year-old will be making his first start of the season after posting a 3.51 ERA and 1.08 WHIP across 33.1 innings out of the bullpen.

Rushing is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's matchup against the Athletics.

Despite recording three hits and two RBI in his first two starts of the series against the A's, Rushing will ride the bench Wednesday. Chuckie Robinson will take over behind the plate and bat ninth for the Dodgers.

Kremer (1-1) picked up the win Wednesday, allowing one run on four hits and a walk over six innings during a 6-1 victory over the White Sox. He struck out four.

Making his first start since April 18 after recovering from a quadriceps strain, Kremer got taken deep by Sam Antonacci on the second pitch he threw but then slammed the door shut on Chicago, retiring the next 11 batters he faced and not letting another runner get past second base. Kremer has delivered quality starts in two of his three trips to the mound this season, and he'll take a 3.18 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and 20:3 K:BB over 17 innings into his next outing, which is set to come at home next week against the Cubs.

The Pirates optioned Bidois to Triple-A Indianapolis on Wednesday.

After making just three outings for Pittsburgh since being called up on June 13, Bidois will head back to Indianapolis. The 25-year-old most recently appeared Monday, allowing three earned runs on four hits and a walk while striking out two in just two-thirds of an inning against Philadelphia. The Pirates will replace Bidois with Cam Sanders on the 26-man roster.
