The Pirates optioned Bidois to Triple-A Indianapolis on Wednesday.

After making just three outings for Pittsburgh since being called up on June 13, Bidois will head back to Indianapolis. The 25-year-old most recently appeared Monday, allowing three earned runs on four hits and a walk while striking out two in just two-thirds of an inning against Philadelphia. The Pirates will replace Bidois with Cam Sanders on the 26-man roster.

The Pirates recalled Sanders from Triple-A Indianapolis on Wednesday.

Sanders has given up just two earned runs while striking out 19 batters in 10 innings since being sent down to Triple-A at the end of May. He'll now return to the majors to give the Pirates' bullpen a fresh arm, though he'll likely be limited to low-leverage situations given that he's surrendered six runs in six innings with Pittsburgh. Brandan Bidois was optioned to Indianapolis in a corresponding move.

Rea (6-5) earned the win Wednesday against the Padres, allowing two runs on six hits and three walks in five innings. He struck out five.

Rea was mostly unfazed by the difficult conditions at sizzling Wrigley Field, and he also got plenty of run support on a day when the Cubs erupted for 23 runs. The 36-year-old right-hander was a bit wild at times, walking three and hitting a pair of batters, but he still worked at least five frames while yielding two runs or fewer for a third consecutive outing. Rea will bring a shaky 4.74 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 68:34 K:BB over 89.1 innings into his next scheduled appearance against the Orioles.

Conine is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rockies.

With southpaw Kyle Freeland on the hill for Colorado, Conine will ride the pine for Wednesday's matchup despite putting together a four-hit performance Tuesday. Owen Caissie will serve as the designated hitter and bat eighth for the Marlins.

Kolek (personal) is expected to return from the family medical emergency list to start Thursday's game against Tampa Bay, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

Kolek moved from the paternity list to the family medical emergency list Tuesday so that he could spend more time away from the team following the birth of his child, but the Royals won't end up having to skip his turn in the rotation for a second time. The 29-year-old righty will be looking to bounce back from a disastrous nine-run, 1.2-inning performance during his last start June 21, though he'll be facing a Rays offense that's posted an .881 OPS across its last 10 games.

Buehler (5-4) took the loss Wednesday against the Cubs, allowing nine runs on seven hits and four walks in four innings. He struck out six.

Working under tough conditions at scorching Wrigley Field, Buehler floundered in what was a season-worst outing. The veteran right-hander gave up more than five runs for the first time this year, breaking up a string of five consecutive starts during which he allowed just one run in each outing. Buehler's ERA swelled to 4.61 and his WHIP to 1.38 to go with a 76:30 K:BB over 82 innings, so he'll be looking to erase Wednesday's disaster his next time out versus Arizona.

Mack is out of the lineup for Wednesday's matchup against the Rockies.

Mack will sit out of Wednesday's game with Colorado trotting out left-hander Kyle Freeland. Brian Navarreto will take over behind the plate and bat eighth for Miami.

Schultz (2-5) took the loss Wednesday as the White Sox were downed 6-1 by the Orioles, giving up three runs on two hits and four walks over 4.1 innings. He struck out seven.

Activated from the IL earlier in the day after recovering from a knee issue that cost him all of June, Schultz blanked Baltimore for four innings before running out of gas in the fifth and getting lifted after 87 pitches (57 strikes). The seven strikeouts were the southpaw's highest total since April 25, when he fanned a career-high eight. Through his first nine big-league starts, Schultz carries a 5.86 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 40:26 K:BB through 43 innings. He'll look to be a little more efficient in his next trip to the mound, which lines up to come at home early next week against the Red Sox.

Melton didn't factor into the decision Wednesday against the Yankees, allowing no runs on two hits and one walk in 6.1 innings. He struck out seven.

Given the sweltering conditions at Yankee Stadium on Wednesday, Melton hung in there for quite an efficient and impressive outing. The 25-year-old right-hander has been especially superb over his last three starts, during which he's yielded only a pair of runs to go with an 18:4 K:BB covering 18.1 innings. Melton will take an outstanding 2.05 ERA, 0.80 WHIP and 32:10 K:BB over 43.2 innings into his next scheduled outing at home against the Athletics.

Frelick is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Reds.

With southpaw Andrew Abbott toeing the slab, Frelick will ride the bench while in the midst of a six-game hit streak, during which he's gone 9-for-18 with two walks and three doubles. Jake Bauers will take over in right field and bat cleanup.
