Twins' John Klein: Returning to Triple-A
The Twins optioned Klein to Triple-A St. Paul on Thursday, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Roman Anthony OF | BOS
Red Sox's Roman Anthony: Heading to injured list
Red Sox interim manager Chad Tracy said Thursday that Anthony (wrist) will be placed on the 10-day injured list, Tim Healey of The Boston Globe reports.
Anthony hasn't played since suffering a sprained right wrist in Monday's game versus the Tigers. The injury hasn't gotten worse, but Anthony wasn't going to be able to play for at least a few more days, and the Red Sox didn't want to continue playing a man short. He will have a chance to be activated when first eligible late next week, though that possibility should become clearer over the next few days. Masataka Yoshida will continue to get increased reps at designated hitter while Anthony is shelved.

Zack Short 3B | DET
Tigers' Zack Short: Clears waivers
Short cleared waivers Thursday and was sent outright to Triple-A Toledo, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
Short was pushed off the 40-man roster Tuesday once Zach McKinstry came off the injured list. Now that he's cleared waivers, Short will have the option to decline his outright assignment and elect free agency, and it remains unknown what he will do. The 30-year-old infielder has had minimal success at the big-league level during his career, slashing just .171/.269/.295 through 597 plate appearances since debuting in 2021.

Yoniel Curet SP | PHI
Tigers' Yoniel Curet: Outrighted to Toledo
Curet cleared waivers Thursday and was sent outright to Triple-A Toledo, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
The 23-year-old righty has been in the minors since the beginning of the season but lost his 40-man spot Saturday to make room for Ricky Vanasco. Curet will remain in the organization after passing through waivers and look to bounce back at Toledo after giving up three runs (one earned) in just two-thirds of an inning during his lone outing.

Johan Oviedo SP | BOS
Red Sox's Johan Oviedo: Reevaluated in two weeks
Oviedo (elbow) will be reevaluated by Dr. Keith Meister in two weeks to determine his progress, Marcos Grunfeld of ElEmergente.com reports.
Oviedo has been shut down over the past month after being diagnosed with a right flexor strain in early April. The Red Sox will determine the next steps for Oviedo's rehab based on what comes out of the upcoming exam with Dr. Meister.

Jake Mangum CF | PIT
Pirates' Jake Mangum: Nursing hamstring issue
Mangum was scratched from Thursday's lineup against the Diamondbacks due to left hamstring discomfort, Colin Beazley of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Mangum was scratched just before first pitch, so he might have tweaked something pregame. The Pirates could have more on his status after the game.

Leody Taveras CF | BAL
Orioles' Leody Taveras: Taking seat Thursday
Taveras isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game against Miami, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.
Taveras has hit safely in each of his last four games, but the O's will keep him on the bench during Thursday's series finale while Dylan Beavers, Colton Cowser and Tyler O'Neill start across the outfield.

Adley Rutschman C | BAL
Orioles' Adley Rutschman: Absent from Thursday's lineup
Rutschman isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Marlins, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.
Rutschman will get a breather after going 3-for-4 with a walk, three RBI and a run scored during the first two games of the series. Samuel Basallo will fill in behind the plate while Taylor Ward works as the DH and Tyler O'Neill starts in the outfield.

Jasson Dominguez CF | NYY
Yankees' Jasson Dominguez: Going on IL with sprained AC joint
Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Thursday that Dominguez will miss "a few weeks" after an MRI revealed a low-grade AC joint sprain in his left shoulder, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
Dominguez was injured in Thursday's game against the Rangers after crashing into the outfield wall following a catch. He did pass initial concussion testing, though he will remain in protocol for a few more days. All things considered, a low-grade AC joint sprain qualifies as relatively good news for Dominguez. He will officially be placed on the IL prior to Friday's game against the Brewers.

Peyton Gray RP | TEX
Rangers' Peyton Gray: Exits after being hit by comebacker
Gray was removed from Thursday's game versus the Yankees after being struck in the forearm by a comebacker, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Gray's exit appeared precautionary, but the Rangers should have more on his status after the game. The reliever was charged with one run on two hits and a walk over one inning of work before departing.
