Holliday is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Reds.

Along with fellow left-handed hitters Samuel Basallo, Colton Cowser and Dylan Beavers, Holliday will take a seat for the series finale against Nick Lodolo. Jeremiah Jackson will replace Holliday at second base and bat eighth.

Beavers is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Reds, Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Beavers will hit the bench along with three other left-handed hitters (Colton Cowser, Samuel Basallo and Jackson Holliday) while the Orioles stock up on right-handed bats against Nick Lodolo. Since coming off the injured list June 28, Beavers has appeared in four games and has gone just 1-for-14 with a double, a walk, an RBI and a run. Now holding down an underwhelming .222/.308/.342 slash line on the season, Beavers could be in danger of ceding starts to the likes of Leody Taveras or Tyler O'Neill if he's unable to improve on his production.

The Tigers announced Tuesday that Torres (oblique) is in the midst of a running progression, but the veteran second baseman hasn't yet resumed hitting since landing on the injured list June 17, MLB.com reports.

Though Torres has been able to take part in some baseball activities since receiving a cortisone injection last month for his left oblique strain, his inability to start up a hitting progression over two weeks later suggests that the Tigers will likely hold him out through the All-Star break. Torres missed a month of action earlier in the season with the same injury, and it wouldn't be surprising if he faces a longer recovery timeline this time around.

Perez (elbow) will start at designated hitter and bat sixth in Sunday's game against the Phillies.

Perez went unused off the bench during the Royals' previous two games while managing a sore elbow, but he's made enough improvement to re-enter the starting nine in a non-defensive capacity. Assuming Perez's elbow provides no complications for him during Sunday's contest, he should be available to make starts at catcher or at first base at some point during the upcoming week.

Lowe is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Orioles.

Lowe will head to the bench for the second time in the series, this time exiting the lineup against a right-handed starter (Kyle Bradish) after his previous absence Friday came versus a lefty (Trevor Rogers). Spencer Steer will step in for Lowe at first base and will bat fifth.

Sandoval (biceps) allowed one hit and one walk while striking out seven over five scoreless innings in a rehab start for Double-A Portland on Saturday.

Sandoval pushed his pitch count up to 68 (43 strikes) in what was his sixth and final start in the minors since he resumed a rehab assignment June 5. The veteran southpaw was generally sharp during the assignment, posting a 1.96 ERA, 0.87 WHIP and 18:6 K:BB across 18.1 innings. With his 30-day rehab window coming to a close, Sandoval is expected to return from the 60-day injured list to slot into the Red Sox rotation Thursday against the White Sox in Chicago or Friday against the Mets in New York. He'll be making his first appearance in the majors since June 2024, after he underwent internal brace surgery later that summer and experienced other injury complications in the ensuing two years.

McMahon is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Twins.

The veteran third baseman returned from the injured list Friday after missing time due to a throat and ear infection, and he went 1-for-5 with two walks, a double and two runs in his first two games back in the lineup. McMahon will rest for Sunday's series finale, which allows Anthony Volpe to start at shortstop while Jose Caballero mans third base.

The Mets optioned Gerber to Triple-A Syracuse on Sunday.

The right-hander was called up by New York on Monday and appeared in four games during his brief time in the majors. Gerber started off with three scoreless appearances before surrendering three runs over two-thirds of an inning Saturday in Atlanta. Guillo Zuniga was added to the MLB roster Sunday in a corresponding move.

Martin allowed one hit and struck out one over a scoreless inning in Saturday's 3-0 loss to Detroit.

Martin was reinstated from the injured list Saturday and was used immediately. It's been a rough season for the 40-year-old right-hander, who has spent two stints on the IL and carries a 7.15 ERA through 13 outings (11.1 innings). He was considered a candidate for closing duties coming out of training camp, but Martin is still looking for his first save of 2026, and he might never get one given how well Jacob Latz (18 saves and an All-Star nod) has pitched in that role.

Alvarez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game in Atlanta, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

The Mets will give Alvarez the afternoon off while Luis Torrens starts behind the plate and Juan Soto serves as the designated hitter. Alvarez had started the last seven games, going 5-for-27 (.185) with a solo home run and a 0:11 BB:K.
