  • Quinn Priester SP | MIL

Brewers' Quinn Priester: Move to IL made official

The Brewers placed Priester (wrist) on the 15-day injured list Wednesday.

Priester first developed right wrist soreness late last season and was diagnosed with thoracic outlet syndrome after the discomfort cropped up again in Brewers camp. It's viewed as a relatively mild case of TOS and the hope is Priester is ready for his season debut around early May, but it's far from a guarantee he'll be ready by that time.

  • White Sox's Prelander Berroa: Goes on 15-day IL

The White Sox placed Berroa (elbow) on the 15-day injured list Wednesday.

Berroa had Tommy John surgery last March and is still working his way back into game shape. The right-handed reliever has been throwing off a mound since early February, so he might not be far off from a rehab assignment if all goes well.

  • Steward Berroa CF | PHI

Brewers' Steward Berroa: Sidelined with shoulder strain

The Brewers placed Berroa (shoulder) on the 10-day injured list Wednesday.

Berroa was held out for the entirety of the Brewers' Cactus League schedule after developing a right shoulder strain early in camp. It's unclear where his rehab currently stands, but his absence is sure to last beyond the minimum 10 days.

  • Phillies' Garrett Stubbs: Exits 40-man roster

The Phillies designated Stubbs for assignment Wednesday.

Stubbs lost out to Rafael Marchan for the Phillies' backup catcher job and is now without a spot on the 40-man roster. The 32-year-old has slashed only .215/.293/.310 in parts of seven big-league seasons, but catching depth is always a commodity so he could be scooped up on waivers.

  • Tyler Freeman RF | COL

Rockies' Tyler Freeman: Move to IL official

The Rockies placed Freeman (back) on the 10-day injured list Wednesday.

Freeman is without a definitive timeline to return from the IL, though manager Warren Schaeffer doesn't believe the 26-year-old will require an extended stay on the shelf, per MLB.com. Once he's activated, Freeman is likely to serve as a super-utility player for Colorado.

  • Vidal Brujan SS | NYM

Mets' Vidal Brujan: Scrubbed from 40-man roster

The Mets designated Brujan for assignment Wednesday.

Brujan got on base at a .400 clip this spring, but that wasn't enough to win a reserve role in New York. The utility player has bounced around to multiple organization and has yet to establish himself at the big-league level, sporting a .199/.267/.276 batting line across parts of five seasons.

  • Rob Zastryzny RP | MIL

Brewers' Rob Zastryzny: Out with strained shoulder

The Brewers placed Zastryzny (shoulder) on the 15-day injured list Wednesday.

Zastryzny suffered a left rhomboid strain earlier this month and will get a late start to the season. The Brewers anticipate the left-handed reliever being ready to go at some point in April.

  • Dylan Beavers OF | BAL

Orioles' Dylan Beavers: Feels ready for Opening Day

Beavers (knee) said that he was able to turn in a full on-field workout Tuesday and feels ready to go for Thursday's season opener versus the Twins, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

Beavers didn't see game action in spring training after experiencing some tightness in his right knee and quadriceps while running last Friday, but the Orioles evidently feel comfortable enough with his health after announcing Wednesday that the 24-year-old outfielder will be part of their 26-man active roster for Opening Day. As a left-handed hitter, Beavers should play at least semi-regularly against right-handed pitching, but he may be deployed in more of a timeshare rather than in the strong side of a platoon after Tyler O'Neill and Samuel Basallo both made strong cases for everyday roles with standout springs.

  • Rays' Cam Booser: Optioned after addition to 40-man

The Rays selected Booser's contract from Triple-A Durham on Wednesday and optioned him to Durham.

Presumably, Booser had an opt-out in his minor-league contract, and the Rays added him to their 40-man roster to prevent the reliever from exercising that clause. Booser holds a 4.28 ERA and 78:35 K:BB over 73.2 innings at the big-league level.

  • RJ Petit SP | COL

Rockies' RJ Petit: Placed on IL

The Rockies placed Petit (elbow) on the 15-day injured list Wednesday.

The 26-year-old underwent Tommy John surgery with an internal brace on his right elbow Friday, so the move to the injured list was inevitable. Petit will miss the rest of the season in addition to the start of the 2027 campaign.
