Dylan Beavers OF | BAL
Orioles' Dylan Beavers: Feels ready for Opening Day
Beavers (knee) said that he was able to turn in a full on-field workout Tuesday and feels ready to go for Thursday's season opener versus the Twins, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.
Beavers didn't see game action in spring training after experiencing some tightness in his right knee and quadriceps while running last Friday, but the Orioles evidently feel comfortable enough with his health after announcing Wednesday that the 24-year-old outfielder will be part of their 26-man active roster for Opening Day. As a left-handed hitter, Beavers should play at least semi-regularly against right-handed pitching, but he may be deployed in more of a timeshare rather than in the strong side of a platoon after Tyler O'Neill and Samuel Basallo both made strong cases for everyday roles with standout springs.

Cameron Booser SP | TB
Rays' Cam Booser: Optioned after addition to 40-man
The Rays selected Booser's contract from Triple-A Durham on Wednesday and optioned him to Durham.
Presumably, Booser had an opt-out in his minor-league contract, and the Rays added him to their 40-man roster to prevent the reliever from exercising that clause. Booser holds a 4.28 ERA and 78:35 K:BB over 73.2 innings at the big-league level.

Michael Conforto RF | CHC
Cubs' Michael Conforto: Formally added to roster
The Cubs selected Conforto's contract from Triple-A Iowa on Wednesday.
Chicago had already informed Conforto a few days earlier that he had secured his spot on the Opening Day squad, but the team officially cleared room for him on the 40-man roster Wednesday by placing left-hander Justin Steele (elbow) on the 60-day injured list in a corresponding move. With Seiya Suzuki (knee) on the 10-day IL to begin the season, the left-handed-hitting Conforto should have a clear path to making regular starts against righties as either a designated hitter or corner outfielder.

Christian Roa RP | CHC
Astros' Christian Roa: Wins bullpen job in Houston
The Astros selected Roa's contract from Triple-A Sugar Land on Wednesday.
Roa came to Astros camp as a non-roster invitee and won a spot by allowing just one run with a 13:0 K:BB over 9.2 Grapefruit League innings. The righty has just two games of big-league experience under his belt and should be used in low-leverage situations.

Scott Kingery 2B | CHC
Cubs' Scott Kingery: Claims utility job
The Cubs selected Kingery's contract from Triple-A Iowa on Wednesday.
Kingery was able to emerge from spring training with a utility job after slashing a middling .204/.339/.327 over 59 plate appearances but making an impact on the basepaths (five steals in five attempts). The 31-year-old is unlikely to see extensive playing time, but he could prove to be a useful bench asset thanks to his speed and ability to play three infield spots and all three outfield positions.

McCade Brown P | COL
Rockies' McCade Brown: Shifts to injured list
The Rockies placed Brown (shoulder) on the 15-day injured list Wednesday.
The right-hander has been battling shoulder since the start of camp and won't be available to begin the regular season. Brown has been throwing bullpen sessions but will need to progress to facing live batters before beginning a rehab assignment.

Elijah Morgan RP | KC
Royals' Eli Morgan: Optioned after getting 40-man spot
The Royals selected Morgan's contract from Triple-A Omaha and optioned him to Omaha on Wednesday.
The Royals will give Morgan a spot on the 40-man roster -- presumably to keep him from opting out of his minor-league deal -- but will stash him in the minors. Morgan had a rough 2025 season with the Cubs, but he posted a 3.27 ERA from 2022-to-2024 out of the Guardians' bullpen.

Jack Neely P | CHC
Cubs' Jack Neely: Removed from 40-man roster
The Cubs designated Neely for assignment Wednesday.
Neely ended up being a roster casualty after the Cubs needed to free up a 40-man spot for infielder Scott Kingery, who won a utility role with the big club coming out of spring training. A 25-year-old righty reliever, Neely made six appearances out of the Chicago bullpen in 2024 but pitched exclusively in the minors in 2025. He struggled across his 28 appearances last season with Triple-A Iowa, logging a 6.23 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and 39:27 K:BB in 30.1 innings.
