  • Rhys Hoskins 1B | CLE

Brewers' Rhys Hoskins: Activated from 10-day IL

The Brewers activated Hoskins (thumb) from the 10-day injured list Tuesday.

Hoskins has missed more than two months of action with a left thumb sprain but is ready to go after slashing .275/.371/.471 with two home runs over 14 rehab games. The 32-year-old is no longer at the top of the Brewers' first-base depth chart following the emergence of Andrew Vaughn, but Hoskins should still see a decent number of starts between first base and designated hitter.

  • Robert Hassell CF | WAS

Nationals' Robert Hassell: Taking seat Tuesday

Hassell is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Nationals, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

Hassell started the previous two contests but has a .211/.250/.421 slash line through seven games in September and will head to the bench Tuesday. Jacob Young is starting in center field and batting ninth against Miami righty Adam Mazur.

  • Grant Holmes SP | ATL

Braves' Grant Holmes: Begins throwing program

Holmes (elbow) began his throwing program Monday, Grant McAuley of the Marietta Daily Journal reports.

Holmes has already been ruled out for the remainder of this season after he was diagnosed with a partially torn UCL in his right elbow in early August. The goal is for the righty to continue to ramp up his throwing over the next two months and head into the offseason and spring training without restrictions. However, given the nature of Holmes' injury, the possibility of setbacks are there.

  • Kyle Tucker RF | LAD

Cubs' Kyle Tucker: Held out again Tuesday

Tucker (calf) remains out of the lineup for Tuesday's game in Atlanta.

Tucker will miss a sixth straight start as he recovers from left calf tightness. The Cubs have one more game in Atlanta on Wednesday before an off day Thursday, so they might be targeting Friday's game versus the Rays for Tucker's return. Willi Castro is handling right field and batting seventh for the Cubs on Tuesday.

  • Shelby Miller RP | CHC

Brewers' Shelby Miller: Slated for UCL surgery

Miller will undergo surgery in the coming weeks to repair the torn UCL in his right elbow, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

It's unclear whether it will be Tommy John surgery -- which would be Miller's second -- but even if it isn't there's a good chance he won't be ready to pitch again until 2027. The righty posted a 2.74 ERA and 54:15 K:BB over 46 innings between the Diamondbacks and Brewers this season and will be a free agent this offseason.

  • Brewers' Logan Henderson: Throwing bullpen session next week

Henderson (elbow) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session Sept. 16, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Henderson is on the 60-day injured list while recovering from a right flexor strain, an injury that occurred in early August. However, he's made progress in his recovery and the Brewers are hopeful that the rookie right-hander will be available at some point during the postseason.

  • DL Hall RP | MIL

Brewers' DL Hall: Resumes throwing program

Hall (oblique) has been cleared to resume a throwing program, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Hall had been limited to plyometric work but has begun throwing on flat ground. The lefty will continue to ramp things up, with the goal of returning in late September or early October. Hall has been sidelined since mid-August with a strained right oblique.

  • Wander Suero RP | ATH

Mets' Wander Suero: Designated for assignment

The Mets designated Suero for assignment Tuesday.

The right-hander was optioned to Triple-A Syracuse last week and has now lost his place on the 40-man roster. Suero made a few big-league appearances with Atlanta earlier this season but surrendered eight earned runs across 6.1 innings.

  • Jose Siri LF | LAA

Mets' Jose Siri: Reinstated from 60-day injured list

The Mets activated Siri (tibia) from the 60-day injured list Tuesday.

Siri missed nearly five months with a fractured left tibia but is ready to roll after going 7-for-26 with one home run in eight rehab games. He could see some starts in center field against left-handed pitching.

  • Jared Young 1B | NYM

Mets' Jared Young: Jettisoned to minors

The Mets optioned Young to Triple-A Syracuse on Tuesday.

Young homered in his lone plate appearance after being recalled a week ago, but he will nonetheless be dispatched back to the minors. Jose Siri (tibia) is back from the 60-day injured list to take Young's roster spot.
