  • Matt Olson 1B | ATL

Braves' Matt Olson: Mashes homer, two doubles

Olson went 4-for-5 with a homer, two doubles, four RBI and an additional run scored in Monday's 11-3 win at Washington.

The Atlanta first baseman produced his second four-RBI performance of the season while posting three extra-base hits in a contest for the first time in 2025. Olson gave his squad a 5-1 lead with a three-run blast in the fifth off Nationals starter Mitchell Parker. The three-time All-Star has been on fire in September, batting .378 (17-for-45) with five round trippers, 11 runs scored and 10 RBI across 13 games.

  • Nationals' Mitchell Parker: Pummeled in loss

Parker (8-16) suffered the loss Monday against Atlanta, coughing up six runs on 10 hits and one walk over five innings with one strikeout.

The Washington southpaw turned in his third appearance allowing double-digit hits this season while conceding six or more runs for the sixth time. Parker's tough campaign has been downright brutal since the All-Star break, as he's produced a 7.19 ERA, 1.54 WHIP and 35:17 K:BB across 56.1 innings in the second half. Through 158.1 total frames, the 25-year-old now sports an unsightly 5.85 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 5.7 K/9. Parker is currently scheduled to next take the mound on the road against the Mets this weekend.

  • Braves' Spencer Strider: Breezes to sixth win

Strider (6-13) earned the win Monday at Washington, yielding one run on four hits and two walks over seven innings. He struck out six.

The Atlanta right-hander looked sharp in this 96-pitch outing, generating a solid 15 whiffs. Strider notched his first win since July 27 and pocketed his second consecutive quality start. The only blemish on his line was a solo homer conceded to Daylen Lile in the second. In 114.1 total innings, Strider has pitched to a 4.64 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 120:46 K:BB. He will look to continue his recent success in his next matchup, which currently lines up to come at Detroit this weekend.

  • Cole Waites RP | DET

Giants' Cole Waites: Returns from 7-day IL

Waites (undisclosed) was activated from the 7-day injured list Thursday.

Waites made his first appearance since July 17 after missing time on the injured list, tossing a scoreless frame while allowing one hit and one walk Friday against Triple-A Oklahoma City. He'll aim to build some momentum down the stretch after missing all of 2024 while recovering from Tommy John surgery and now most of 2025 with an undisclosed issue.

  • Edmundo Sosa 2B | PHI

Phillies' Edmundo Sosa: Could return Tuesday

Sosa (groin) will complete a workout Monday with the hope of returning to the starting lineup Tuesday against the Dodgers, Lochlahn March of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Sosa has remained sidelined since Friday due to groin soreness, but he's on the brink of a return. The team will have a better idea on whether he'll be back in the starting nine for Tuesday's matchup once Sosa completes his Monday workout.

  • Alec Bohm 3B | PHI

Phillies' Alec Bohm: Travels with team to LA

Bohm (shoulder) traveled with the team to Los Angeles with the hope of returning after a minimum stay on the 10-day injured list, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

Bohm landed on the 10-day injured list Sept. 8 due to a cyst in his left shoulder, but it appears he's still on track for a minimum stay. If all goes according to plan during the week, it wouldn't be a surprise to see Bohm back in the lineup for Friday's matchup in Arizona.

  • Graham Pauley 3B | MIA

Marlins' Graham Pauley: Back at full strength

The Marlins reinstated Pauley (oblique) from the 10-day injured list Monday.

Pauley had been on the shelf since Aug. 18 due to a right oblique strain, but he's been deemed ready to rejoin the big club after he went 3-for-10 with a home run and a double over a three-game rehab assignment at Triple-A Jacksonville. He's made 48 starts at third base so far this season, but with the Marlins also bringing back Connor Norby (quadriceps) from the IL on Monday, Pauley may have to settle for limited at-bats over the final two weeks of the campaign.

  • Dane Myers CF | CIN

Marlins' Dane Myers: Returns from IL

The Marlins activated Myers (oblique) from the 10-day injured list Monday.

Myers will return to the big-league roster after missing just over two weeks due to a right oblique strain. The outfielder recently wrapped up a three-game rehab assignment at Triple-A Jacksonville, going1-for-8 with three walks, two strikeouts and two runs scored. In a corresponding move, outfielder Victor Mesa was optioned to Triple-A on Monday.

  • Connor Norby 1B | MIA

Marlins' Connor Norby: Returns from 10-day IL

The Marlins activated Norby (quadriceps) from the 10-day injured list Monday.

Norby will rejoin the Marlins after missing the minimum 10 days while recovering from a left quad strain. The 25-year-old was activated after completing a three-game rehab assignment at Triple-A Jacksonville, during which he went 2-for-10 with two RBI, a run scored and four strikeouts. Norby is expected to settle back in as Miami's primary third baseman for the final two weeks of the season.

  • Jack Winkler SS | HOU

Marlins' Jack Winkler: Returned to minors

The Marlins optioned Winkler to Triple-A Jacksonville on Monday.

Winkler appeared in three games since his promotion Sept. 5, going 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles. He'll head back to the minors to make room for the returns of Connor Norby (quadriceps), Graham Pauley (oblique) and Dane Myers (oblique) from the injured list and Tyler Phillips (personal) from the paternity list.
