Derek Hill RF | CHW
Marlins' Derek Hill: Cleared for rehab assignment
Hill (hamstring) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Jacksonville on Thursday, Daniel Alvarez-Montes of ElExtraBase.com reports.
Previous reports indicated that the right hamstring strain Hill suffered in early September would end his season, but it now appears he's got a shot to be activated from the 10-day injured list before the end of the month. Hill's playing time had fallen off before he got hurt, and if he does make it back before the end of the season, it would likely be in a reserve role.

The veteran outfielder had been slumping coming into Wednesday with a .103 batting average (3-for-29) over his previous eight games. Laureano has still been very good overall since joining the Padres at the trade deadline, though, posting an .869 OPS with nine homers, 30 RBI, 24 runs and two stolen bases over 43 games.

Rockies' Hunter Goodman: Picking back up at home
Goodman went 3-for-4 with a walk and a run scored Wednesday against the Marlins.

However, he's gotten back on track since returning home, going 4-for-9 with a double and a run scored across two games. Goodman has had an impressive breakout season and is hitting well to close things out, blasting four home runs with 11 RBI and seven runs scored while hitting .321 across 14 games in September.
