Marte was scratched from the lineup for Friday's game against the Mets due to an illness, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.

Ildemaro Vargas will shift to second base with Marte out of the lineup, and Jose Fernandez will enter the starting nine to fill the opening at first.

Davis isn't in the lineup for Friday's game against the Giants.

Friday will mark the fourth time in Pittsburgh's last five games that Joey Bart has started over Davis at catcher, which suggests that Davis has fallen on the depth chart. It's an understandable choice, as Davis has slashed just .156/.253/.273 across 88 plate appearances to begin the season.

The Pirates recalled Yorke from Triple-A Indianapolis on Friday.

Yorke was sent down to Triple-A on Saturday, but he'll now return to Pittsburgh to make up for the loss of Jake Mangum (hamstring) to the injured list. Yorke has slashed .221/.308/.309 across 78 plate appearances in the majors this season and has experience at nearly every position.

The Pirates placed Mangum on the 10-day injured list with a left hamstring strain Friday, retroactive to Wednesday.

Mangum was a late scratch from Thursday's lineup due to a hamstring issue, and additional testing later revealed his injury to be a strain. He'll now be held out of action until at least May 16, and Nick Yorke will come up from Triple-A Indianapolis to replenish Pittsburgh's bench depth.

Harvey was diagnosed with a stress reaction in his right triceps Friday, Paul Sullivan of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Harvey had progressed to throwing off a mound while working his way back from ticeps inflammation, but he reported soreness after Thursday's session. An MRI revealed a stress reaction, which will keep the 31-year-old shut down for the next month. A clearer timeline for his return may begin to emerge once he's cleared to restart his throwing program.

Mitchell (illness) isn't in the lineup for Friday's game against the Yankees.

Mitchell will miss a second consecutive start due to an illness that prevented him from playing Wednesday, though he likely wouldn't have started Saturday anyway with southpaw Max Fried on the bump for New York. Brandon Lockridge will fill the void in center field and bat seventh.

Eldridge isn't in the lineup for Friday's game against the Pirates, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Eldridge will pick out a spot on the bench Friday after going 1-for-9 with a walk and four strikeouts over his first three MLB games of the season. Casey Schmitt will slide into the DH spot and bat third.

Bailey isn't in the lineup for Friday's game against the Pirates, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Bailey has been starting to lose playing time recently, as Friday will mark his third missed start in San Francisco's last five games. Jesus Rodriguez will pick up a start behind the plate and bat ninth while Bailey sits.

Arraez (thumb) will start at second base and bat second during Friday's game against Pittsburgh, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Arraez missed the Giants' last two games due to a sore thumb, but he seems to be feeling well enough to play Friday. The 29-year-old infielder was beginning to heat up before getting injured, slashing .341/.341/.488 with five RBI, three runs and a steal over his last 10 games.

Freeland isn't in the lineup for Friday's game against Atlanta.

Freeland has gone 5-for-14 with a homer, two RBI and three runs scored since the beginning of May, but the Dodgers will keep him on the bench to begin Friday's series opener. Santiago Espinal will get the nod at second base and bat ninth.
