The Cubs claimed Wilson off waivers from the Phillies on Wednesday, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.

The Cubs' pitching staff has been hit hard by injuries, so Wilson could be used either in the rotation or as a long reliever. Wilson tossed two scoreless frames in his one appearance for the Phillies this season and holds a 6.29 ERA and 58:21 K:BB over 54.1 innings at the Triple-A level.

Tucker (back) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Twins.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts already said prior to Tuesday's 12-3 win that Tucker's back issue would keep him out for the remainder of the series with Minnesota, so it's not surprising that the outfielder is on the bench for Wednesday's finale. Alex Call will draw the start in right field in place of Tucker, who is expected to take part in baseball activities prior to Wednesday's contest. If Tucker responds well to the workout, he could draw back into the lineup during the Dodgers' series in San Diego, which begins Friday.

Church is not in the lineup for Wednesday's contest versus the Diamondbacks.

The left-handed-hitting Church has now been on the bench each of the last three times the Cardinals have faced a southpaw. Lars Nootbaar will shift over to center field Wednesday, and Nelson Velazquez will cover left field.

Cabrera was diagnosed with a moderate-grade left hamstring strain Wednesday following an MRI and is without a return timeline, Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports Network reports.

The Cubs placed Cabrera on the 15-day injured list prior to Wednesday's doubleheader with the Mets after the right-hander was carted off the field upon suffering the injury during his start in Tuesday's series opener. In addition to Cabrera, Ben Brown (neck) also landed on the IL on Wednesday, leaving an already injury-ravaged Chicago rotation in an even more depleted state. A clearer timeline for Cabrera's return should become available once he's made enough progress in his recovery to get back on the mound and take part in fielding and agility drills, but he looks safe to rule out through at least the All-Star break.

Brown returned to Chicago to have his neck strain examined by specialists, Bruce Levine of 670TheScore.com reports.

Brown has been able to pitch through the neck issue for a bit, but it prevented him from throwing his bullpen session Tuesday, leading to the pitcher being placed on the 15-day injured list Wednesday. Cubs manager Craig Counsell said that there's concern Brown's neck injury is related to the one he dealt with in 2024 that cost him more than half of that season, per Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune.

Winn (thumb) remains out of the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Diamondbacks.

Winn had to be scratched from Tuesday's lineup due to left thumb irritation and will miss a second straight start. He had imaging on the thumb Tuesday, but there's no word yet on the results. JJ Wetherholt will again fill in at shortstop, while Bryan Torres will sub in at second base for the Cardinals.

The Mets reinstated Lindor (calf) from the 10-day injured list ahead of the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader with the Cubs. He'll start at shortstop and bat second.

Lindor will make his return to the lineup after he had been shelved since April 23 due to a left calf strain. Prior to his activation, Lindor appeared in three rehab games with Triple-A Syracuse, going 3-for-13 with one walk and one stolen base. Since Lindor didn't play on consecutive days during his rehab assignment, the Mets could look to give him another day off in the near future, but the five-time All-Star should settle back in as the club's everyday shortstop in short order.

Reds manager Terry Francona said that Lodolo (wrist) "showed up pretty good" when he reported to the ballpark Wednesday, Charlie Clifford of NBC 5 Cincinnati reports.

Lodolo was forced from Tuesday's start versus the Brewers after being struck on the left wrist by a comebacker off the bat of Jackson Chourio. However, X-rays returned negative, and Francona's words Wednesday indicate that Lodolo has minimal swelling. He'll need to get through his normal between-starts bullpen session first, but Lodolo appears on track to make his next scheduled start, which is lined up for Monday in Milwaukee.

Schwarber (back) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Nationals.

A late scratch ahead of Tuesday's 14-9 win due to lower-back tightness, Schwarber will wind up missing out on a second straight start while he tends to the injury. With Schwarber on the bench, the Nationals will give Bryce Harper a day off from playing first base but keep his bat in the lineup at designated hitter. Schwarber doesn't appear at major risk of landing on the injured list, with interim manager Don Mattingly telling Matt Gelb of The Athletic that the 33-year-old is showing improvement and could be back in the lineup for Thursday's series finale in Washington.

Reds manager Terry Francona said Wednesday that Greene (elbow) will make one more rehab start with Triple-A Louisville on Sunday, Charlie Clifford of NBC 5 Cincinnati reports.

Greene is slated to throw 80-to-85 pitches in his third rehab start and, if all goes well, will rejoin the Reds' rotation for his season debut late next week. The right-hander has looked sharp in his first two rehab outings, sitting in the upper-90s with his fastball while tossing eight scoreless innings with a 9:2 K:BB. Greene is coming back from surgery to remove bone chips from his right elbow.
