Gasser will be available in relief for the Brewers during their upcoming weekend series versus the Cubs, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Gasser owns a 4.50 ERA and 1.27 WHIP in six starts with Milwaukee this season, but he pitched well in his most recent two outings, covering a combined 11.2 innings and striking out 13 batters while yielding just two earned runs on six hits and three walks. However, with the Brewers getting Brandon Woodruff back from the injured list Monday to fill out their rotation, Gasser will have to settle for a relief role for the time being. The young left-hander shouldn't have to wait long for his next starting opportunity, however; after Thursday's off day, the Brewers will close out their pre-All-Star break schedule with 18 games in 17 days. Milwaukee will likely expand to a six-man rotation at some point during that stretch, and Gasser is expected to be the top choice to fill the open spot.

Snell (elbow) will throw a 15-pitch bullpen session Friday, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

Snell technically began throwing off a mound Saturday to a standing catcher, but Friday will be his first proper bullpen session since he underwent surgery on his elbow in mid-May. The veteran southpaw won't be eligible to return from the injured list until after the All-Star break, though he could still return relatively early in the second half if his rehab continues to progress smoothly.

Arraez (foot) is not in the lineup for Wednesday's matchup against the Athletics, Evan Webeck of the California Post reports.

After fouling a ball off the arch of his right foot in the first inning of Tuesday's series opener against the Athletics, Arraez will sit out of Wednesday's ballgame. The 29-year-old has his foot wrapped in the clubhouse and is feeling good despite riding the pine for the second contest of the three-game set.

Happ is not in the lineup for the second game of a doubleheader against the Mets on Wednesday.

After going 1-for-5 with a run scored and two strikeouts in the first game of the twin bill, Happ will sit against left-hander Sean Manaea for the nightcap. Matt Shaw will take over in left field and bat second.

Ruiz is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Phillies.

Ruiz will rest up after he started behind the dish in the first two games of the series. Drew Millas will handle the catching duties for Washington in Wednesday's contest.

Mead is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Phillies.

Mead will be handed a night off after he went 0-for-5 with four strikeouts in Tuesday's 14-9 loss. Jorbit Vivas will step in at the hot corner in place of Mead, who had started each of the last four contests.

Lopez will start Friday's game against the Giants, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.

Lopez began the season in Atlanta's rotation but was moved to the bullpen in April after posting a 3.74 ERA and 1.43 WHIP alongside a 20:11 K:BB over 21.2 innings across five starts. He'll now get another chance to work as a starter following JR Ritchie's demotion to Triple-A Gwinnett, though Lopez's first opportunity will come against a Giants offense that's posted a .799 OPS since the beginning of June. The 32-year-old threw just 58 pitches across three innings during his most recent appearance Sunday, and he said Wednesday that he'll likely have a similar workload during his upcoming start, per Bowman.

Young is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Phillies.

After sitting out Sunday's game against the Rays due to right side discomfort, Young returned to the lineup for the first two games of the series with the Phillies, going 1-for-8 at the dish. Though he appears to have avoided any setbacks with the side injury since returning to action, Young will be given a breather Wednesday.

Torres was scratched from Wednesday's matchup against the Diamondbacks.

Torres was slated to bat eighth and start at second base for Wednesday's affair against Arizona before being scratched. However, with Masyn Winn (thumb) being a late insert into the lineup, Torres will begin the contest on the bench.

Abrams is back in the lineup for Wednesday's matchup against the Phillies, Mark Zuckerman of Natsjournal.com reports.

After being scratched from Tuesday's game with left side tightness, Abrams is back in the lineup, batting fourth and playing shortstop on Wednesday. The 25-year-old has slashed .286/.366/.530 with 17 homers and 57 RBI in 328 plate appearances this season.
