  • Sean Manaea SP | NYM

Mets' Sean Manaea: Logs another quality start

Manaea yielded two hits, and three walks and struck out six over six shutout frames but did not factor into the decision Sunday against the Pirates.

Manaea had another strong outing, picking up back-to-back quality starts for the first time since 2022. The left-hander did not allow a hit until there were two outs in the fourth, when Ke'Bryan Hayes reached on an infield hit. However, Manaea did not get much run support, which continues to be a common theme with him since he's still at five wins this season despite allowing three runs or fewer in 14 of his 17 starts.

  • Matt Gage RP | SF

Mets' Matt Gage: Sent to Queens

The Mets acquired Gage from the Dodgers on Sunday in exchange for cash considerations. He was subsequently optioned to Triple-A Syracuse.

The Dodgers added Gage to their 40-man roster last week, and he was quickly shipped off to another organization. The left-hander has a 4.29 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 27:12 K:BB over 21 innings at the Triple-A level this season.

  • Brandon Marsh LF | PHI

Phillies' Brandon Marsh: Picks up 10th steal

Marsh went 0-for-3 with a walk, a stolen base and two strikeouts in Sunday's loss against Atlanta.

Marsh walked and swiped second in the fourth inning to match a career high with his 10th stolen base of the season. It's his third campaign with at least 10 stolen bases, though he reached the mark in his 69th game this season, when he needed 134 and 133 games to do so in 2022 and 2023, respectively. The 26-year-old is slashing .261/.344/.408 with seven homers and 32 RBI in his fourth season.

  • Eli White CF | BOS

Braves' Eli White: Smacks first home run

White went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and two runs scored in Sunday's win over the Phillies.

White took Tyler Phillips deep in the sixth inning for his first big-league homer since June 12, 2022, when he played for the Rangers. White picked up his first two hits of the season in his third start. His recent uptick in playing time may not last long, as Ramon Laureano (oblique) is expected to return soon.

  • Marco Gonzales RP | TEX

Pirates' Marco Gonzales: Completes second rehab start

Gonzales (forearm) struck out three and allowed four runs on four hits and four walks over 4.1 innings in his rehab start with Triple-A Indianapolis on Saturday.

Gonzales tossed 62 pitches (35 strikes) in the start, his second with Indianapolis since beginning his rehab assignment Monday. According to Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com, Pirates general manager Ben Cherington said that Gonzales (forearm) has built up his pitch count enough to be considered for one of the two spots in the rotation that opened up when Jared Jones (lat) and Bailey Falter (triceps) were both recently placed on the 15-day injured list. Quinn Priester tossed five innings of one-run ball in his rehab outing this past Tuesday with Indianapolis and will likely be activated from the IL before Gonzales, but the Pirates could still bring back the veteran southpaw from the 60-day IL at some point during next weekend's series versus the White Sox to close out their first-half schedule.

  • Matt Olson 1B | ATL

Braves' Matt Olson: Snaps out of power slump

Olson went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's win over the Phillies.

Olson took rookie Michael Mercado deep in the second inning to break out of a 14-game homerless drought. It was Olson's second streak of 14 or more games without a homer this season after having only one such streak last season. The 30-year-old entered the game in a 10-for-65 slump with just two extra-base hits and three RBI in his last 18 games, so he'll perhaps now find some positive momentum heading into the All-Star break.

  • Adam Duvall CF | ATL

Braves' Adam Duvall: Ends homer drought

Duvall went 3-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's win over the Phillies.

Duvall snapped a streak of 96 at-bats without a homer in the process. The streak of 24 games without hitting a long ball was the fourth longest of his career and his longest in a single season since 2018. It was also Duvall's second game this week with three or more hits after not having a three-hit game since August of last season. The 35-year-old may be starting to turn it around, but he's still hitting a meager .184/.253/.321 with seven homers and 22 RBI for the season.

  • Jarred Kelenic LF | TEX

Braves' Jarred Kelenic: Homers, swipes bag in win

Kelenic went 1-for-3 with a three-run homer, a walk and two strikeouts in Sunday's win over the Phillies.

Kelenic was one of three Atlanta hitters to go deep off rookie Michael Mercado in the second inning. The 24-year-old continues to be a revelation for Atlanta since it started giving him regular playing time. Kelenic hit his 10th home run of the season, and all have come in his last 49 games. He's hitting .277/.313/.500 with 25 RBI and four stolen bases in that span, and he should continue hitting leadoff due to Ronald Acuna (knee) being out for the season.

  • David Bednar RP | NYY

Pirates' David Bednar: Heading out for rehab assignment

Pirates general manager Ben Cherington said Sunday that he anticipates Bednar (oblique) reporting to Triple-A Indianapolis this week to begin a rehab assignment, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.

Bednar has been on the 15-day injured list since June 23 with a left oblique strain, but he's on the cusp of a return after he threw a 21-pitch live batting practice session Saturday without incident. Cherington didn't say whether Bednar would require more than one rehab appearance with Indianapolis, but with the All-Star break looming, it wouldn't be surprising if the Pirates waited until the start of their second-half schedule July 19 before activating their closer.

  • Reynaldo Lopez RP | ATL

Braves' Reynaldo Lopez: Picks up seventh win

Lopez (7-2) earned the win Sunday, allowing no runs on two hits and three walks over six innings against the Phillies. He struck out six.

Lopez dominated once again with his sixth start of the season with five or more innings and zero runs allowed, tying him with Tarik Skubal for the most such appearances in MLB. Lopez lowered his ERA to an MLB-leading 1.71 in the process. It's tied for the fifth-lowest by an Atlanta player in his first 16 starts of a season since 1912 and the lowest since Tom Glavine in 2002. The 30-year-old is already up to 89.2 innings this season, which is his most since 2019, so his workload will be something to monitor in the second half of the season.
