Sandy Alcantara SP | MIA
Marlins' Sandy Alcantara: Nabs victory despite poor control
Alcantara (9-4) earned the win over Colorado on Monday, allowing five runs on seven hits and five walks while striking out three batters over 5.2 innings.
Alcantara had a rough beginning to his outing, giving up five runs by the end of the third inning. However, he was able to keep the Rockies off the scoreboard for the remainder of his time in the game, and Miami's offense provided enough support to gift the right-hander the win. Despite earning the victory, Alcantara was far from sharp -- he threw only 55 of 96 pitches for strikes and served up five free passes, his second-highest total of the season. Nonetheless, he wrapped up June by going 6-0 over his six starts to push his record to 9-4 on the campaign. Among MLB hurlers, only Aaron Ashby (11) has more victories than Alcantara to this point.

Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Smacks leadoff homer
Marte went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk and a second run scored in Monday's 5-4 win over the Giants.
Marte took Tyler Mahle's second pitch of the game deep. This was Marte's fourth homer over his last five games, all of which have been solo shots. The power surge has the second baseman up to 16 long balls this season, and he's added 50 RBI, 46 runs scored, one stolen base, 17 doubles and two triples while batting .263 with a .797 OPS over 80 games.

Paul Sewald RP | TOR
Diamondbacks' Paul Sewald: Dicey work in 19th save
Sewald allowed two runs on three hits without a strikeout or a walk in one inning to earn the save in Monday's 5-4 win over the Giants.
Sewald allowed a solo home run to Heliot Ramos, and the Giants scraped together another run before he got out of trouble. This was has first save in two weeks, and he pitched just twice in between those save chances, allowing three runs over 1.2 innings. Brandyn Garcia was able to vulture a save chance after Sewald's shaky performance last Tuesday versus the Cardinals, but there's been no changing of the guard at the back of the bullpen. Sewald has a 4.50 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 33:8 K:BB over 30 innings while converting 19 of 20 save opportunities -- no other Arizona pitcher has more than one save.

Eduardo Rodriguez SP | ARI
Diamondbacks' Eduardo Rodriguez: Keeps Giants under control
Rodriguez (7-2) allowed one run on five hits and struck out one without walking a batter over seven innings to earn the win over the Giants on Monday.
Rodriguez was able to effectively pitch to contact against a Giants lineup that continues to struggle to build a rally. This was the fourth time in five games Rodriguez pitched into the seventh inning, and it's the second time all season he's avoided issuing a walk. He's now at a 2.21 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 71:38 K:BB through 102 innings over 17 starts. There's some risk of regression later in the season due to his career-best .247 BABIP, but Rodriguez is in the midst of his best campaign to date despite a hefty drop in strikeouts. The southpaw's next start is projected to be at home versus the Brewers over the weekend.

James Wood RF | WAS
Nationals' James Wood: Goes yard in loss
Wood went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's 6-3 loss to Boston.
Wood's first swing of the day was a memorable one, as he launched a 2-0 sinker from Ranger Suarez well over the right-field wall for a leadoff homer. The 441-foot blast snapped a 13-game homer drought, marking the big outfielder's first long ball since June 15. The star 23-year-old has been as good as advertised in 2026, slashing .258/.383/.509 with 21 homers, 20 doubles, 50 RBI, 73 runs and 13 stolen bases across 86 games.

Brandon Pfaadt SP | ARI
Diamondbacks' Brandon Pfaadt: Receiving call-up to start Tuesday
The Diamondbacks will recall Pfaadt from Triple-A Reno to start Tuesday's game against the Giants in Arizona, Jack Sommers of SI.com reports.
Pfaadt had been expected to slot into the rotation for last Friday's game against the Rays, but the Diamondbacks elected to change their pitching plans after a rainout Thursday. The right-hander will instead toe the rubber for Tuesday's matchup, marking his first start with the big club since April 11, after which he was moved to the bullpen and later demoted to Triple-A. Pfaadt owns a 5.92 ERA and 1.50 WHIP with a 31:17 K:BB across 38 innings in the majors this season.

Miles Mikolas RP | WAS
Nationals' Miles Mikolas: Lasts seven frames in seventh loss
Mikolas (2-7) took the loss Monday, allowing six runs on nine hits and no walks over seven innings in a 6-3 loss to the Red Sox. He struck out three.
Mikolas was ambushed early, allowing four runs on two homers in just the first frame before giving up another run in both the second and third innings. Despite his poor showing early on, the Nationals stuck with the right-hander to eat innings and he managed to dig in and complete seven frames on 97 pitches (68 strikes). The 37-year-old has had only brief moments of success while largely struggling throughout the 2026 campaign. Mikolas will take a 5.44 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 47:17 K:BB across 84.1 innings (18 appearances) into his next outing, tentatively scheduled for Sunday against the Pirates.

Griffin Canning SP | SD
Padres' Griffin Canning: Fades after solid three frames
Canning completed 4.1 innings against the Cubs on Monday, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out three batters in a no-decision.
Canning returned to a traditional starting role Monday after working behind an opener in each of his previous two starts. The veteran righty allowed the first two batters he faced to reach base, but he got through the first three frames without giving up any runs. Canning faded in the fourth, though, allowing a run on two hits and a HBP. He returned for the fifth and recorded just one out before being pulled with two runners on base, one of whom scored following his departure. Canning wasn't abysmal Monday, but he threw only 40 of 75 pitches for strikes and didn't exactly make an emphatic statement in his battle to retain a starting spot. With German Marquez (forearm) nearing activation, it isn't certain that Canning will take his next turn in the rotation.

Shota Imanaga SP | CHC
Cubs' Shota Imanaga: Works around nine hits for QS
Imanaga allowed two runs on nine hits and no walks while striking out four batters over 6.1 innings in a no-decision against San Diego on Monday.
The nine hits he allowed tied a season-worst mark for Imanaga, but he mostly dodged damage and gave up just two runs. The southpaw got 13 whiffs and threw 67 of 97 pitches for strikes while completing six frames for the first time over his past four starts. Imanaga has had an up-and-down June, allowing four or more runs twice and two or fewer runs three times. Overall, he holds a 4.30 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 92:23 K:BB across 98.1 frames spanning 17 starts.

Tanner Gordon RP | COL
Rockies' Tanner Gordon: Will start Tuesday
Gordon (hip) will start be activated from the 15-day injured list to start Tuesday's game against the Marlins at Coors Field, Suzie Hunter of GuerillaSports.net reports.
As expected, Gordon will slot back into the rotation this week after he had been on the shelf since June 5 due to a right hip impingement. The right-hander has struggled to find his footing so far this season through nine appearances (two starts), accruing a 6.37 ERA and 1.56 WHIP over 35.1 innings. During his lone rehab start at Triple-A Albuquerque last week, Gordon tossed 38 pitches over four scoreless innings, so he'll likely be limited from a workload standpoint Tuesday.
