Paredes was scratched from Saturday's lineup against the Nationals due to a left wrist contusion, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.

Paredes was hit in the left hand/wrist during Thursday's contest and also sat down Friday, though this is the first time the Cubs have specified his absence as injury-related. He'll take another day to recover while Luis Vazquez enters the lineup at third base, batting ninth.

Glasnow doesn't expect to need surgery on his sprained right elbow, but he's been shut down from throwing for the foreseeable future, per MLB.com.

Glasnow was diagnosed with a right elbow sprain Sept. 14 and was subsequently moved to the 60-day IL. Though the right-hander doesn't think he'll need surgery, his injured elbow will be subject to monitoring and imaging as he looks ahead to clearance to resume throwing. Glasnow's injury isn't expected to carry over into next season, but it's highly unlikely he'll pitch again in 2024 even if the Dodgers make a deep run into the postseason.

Marsh is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Mets.

Marsh will retreat to the bench Saturday against southpaw Sean Manaea. In his place, Johan Rojas will play center field and bat ninth.

Stott is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Mets.

Stott will dodge a matchup with left-hander Sean Manaea on Saturday, giving way to Edmundo Sosa at the keystone. Stott is riding a five-game hit streak, though he's just 5-for-19 with a 30 percent strikeout rate during that stretch.

Chaparro is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Cubs.

Chaparro is 3-for-32 (.094) in his last nine games and will get the day off Saturday to clear his head. Luis Garcia will fill in at DH while Jose Tena plays the keystone.

Martinez isn't in the Mets' lineup for Saturday's game versus the Phillies.

Martinez will get a chance to collect himself Saturday after going 0-for-29 over his last eight games. Starling Marte will replace him as New York's DH, allowing Tyrone Taylor to start in right field while batting sixth.

Young (shoulder) is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Cubs.

Young will miss a second straight game due to pain in his non-throwing shoulder. The center fielder didn't sustain any structural damage and can be considered day-to-day moving forward. Dylan Crews will take over in center field Saturday.

Winker isn't in the Mets' lineup for Saturday's game against the Phillies.

With left-hander Ranger Suarez set to toe the slab for Philadelphia, the lefty-hitting Winker will grab a seat on the bench to begin Saturday's contest. Brandon Nimmo, Harrison Bader and Tyrone Taylor will start across the outfield instead.

Garcia (wrist) will DH and bat third Saturday against the Cubs.

Garcia missed back-to-back games with soreness in his right wrist, but he'll return to the starting nine Saturday. Considering the pain is in his throwing arm, the Nationals could give Garcia a couple of days at DH before having him return to the field. Jose Tena is playing second base.

Lindor (back) isn't in the Mets' lineup Saturday versus the Phillies.

Lindor will be missing his sixth straight start Saturday as a result of the back injury he suffered last week. He went through a full workout ahead of Friday's contest, but the 30-year-old seemingly still has a few boxes to check off before returning to the starting nine. Luisangel Acuna will pick up a start at shortstop and bat ninth while Lindor sits.
