  • Brenton Doyle CF | COL

Rockies' Brenton Doyle: Swipes first bag of 2026

Doyle went 0-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base Saturday against the Marlins.

Doyle didn't have a remarkable day at the plate, and he's now 0-for-7 in his first two games of the season. However, he did manage a free pass in the second inning, and he also went on to notch his first stolen base of the campaign. Doyle has hit seventh for both of Colorado's first two contests.

  • Ezequiel Tovar SS | COL

Rockies' Ezequiel Tovar: First homer of 2026

Tovar went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run Saturday against the Marlins.

Tovar pulled an offering from Eury Perez over the left-field fence in the fourth inning for his first home run of the season. He's hit cleanup in each of Colorado's first two games, collecting two hits in eight plate appearances.

  • Phillies' Orion Kerkering: Begins rehab assignment

Kerkering (hamstring) threw a clean inning in Saturday's minor-league rehab appearance for Triple-A Lehigh Valley, striking out one.

Kerkering, who's working his way back from a Grade 1 right hamstring strain, is next expected to pitch in consecutive games Sunday and Monday, per MLB.com. Once he's cleared to join Philadelphia's bullpen, Kerkering is likely to operate primarily as a setup man for closer Jhoan Duran in 2026.

  • Joseph Ortiz 2B | MIL

Brewers' Joey Ortiz: Swipes two bags in win

Ortiz went 2-for-4 with one RBI and two stolen bases in Saturday's 6-1 win over the White Sox.

Ortiz drove in a run in the seventh inning while recording his third career two-steal game. The 27-year-old is off to an encouraging start, posting multiple hits in back-to-back contests to open the season. He slashed a disappointing .230/.276/.317 in 2025 but looks set to hold down the club's starting shortstop role.

  • Brewers' Christian Yelich: Three-hit effort in win

Yelich went 3-for-5 with one RBI, one run scored and a stolen base in Saturday' 6-1 win over the White Sox.

Yelich got the scoring started with an RBI single in the first inning and added his first stolen base in the second. The 34-year-old has started 2026 hot, going 5-for-9 with three runs scored through two games. He slashed .264/.343/.452 with 103 RBI over 150 regular-season games in 2025 and looks poised to be a key contributor in the heart of the Brewers' order again this year.

  • Brewers' Garrett Mitchell: Posts two steals in win

Mitchell went 2-for-4 with a walk, two RBI, one run scored and two stolen bases in Saturday's 6-1 win over the White Sox.

Mitchell made an impact from the outset, tallying a two-run single in the first inning and recording his first multi-steal game since last April. The 27-year-old has started each of the Brewers' first two games, reaching base multiple times in both. While durability has long been a concern, he's off to a strong start in 2026 as the team's primary center fielder.

  • Tyler Mahle SP | SF

Giants' Tyler Mahle: Fans five in team debut

Mahle (0-1) took the loss Saturday against the Yankees, allowing two runs on five hits and one walk in four innings. He struck out five.

The 31-year-old right-hander was coming off an excellent spring, during which he fired 10 shutout frames, but he stumbled in a stiff challenge Saturday against a fearsome Yankees lineup. Shoulder issues plagued Mahle last season with the Rangers, but he was outstanding when healthy with a 2.18 ERA and 1.13 WHIP in 16 regular-season starts. That said, his streaming appeal might be a bit limited in a tough matchup against the Mets in his next scheduled start.

  • Chad Patrick P | MIL

Brewers' Chad Patrick: Strikes out four in no-decision

Patrick did not factor into the decision in Saturday's 6-1 win over the White Sox, allowing one run on five hits and one walk with four strikeouts over 4.1 innings.

Patrick was handed an early lead and allowed just one run on a solo homer in the fourth, but he was lifted too soon to qualify for the win. The 27-year-old threw 48 of 74 pitches for strikes while generating 10 whiffs, building on a solid 2025 regular season in which he posted a 3.53 ERA and 1.28 WHIP over 119.2 innings. He's lined up for a road start against the Royals next weekend.

  • Dominic Smith 1B | ATL

Braves' Dominic Smith: Walk-off grand slam in team debut

Smith went 1-for-4 with a grand slam in Saturday's 6-2 win over the Royals.

Smith played the role of hero Saturday, crushing a walk-off grand slam in his team debut to punctuate Atlanta's six-run comeback in the ninth inning. With Sean Murphy (hip) on the injured list to begin the year and Jurickson Profar suspended for the entire season, the left-handed-hitting Smith has a clear pathway to at-bats at designated hitter versus right-handed pitching for the time being.

  • Luis Robert CF | NYM

Mets' Luis Robert: Plays hero Saturday

Robert went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run and a walk in Saturday's 4-2 extra-innings win over the Pirates.

With the Mets trailing 2-1 in the bottom of the 11th, Robert delivered a walk-off, three-run blast off Hunter Barco. After being traded form the White Sox to the Mets in January, the 28-year-old is off to a hot start with his new club, collecting three hits and driving in five runs through two games. While durability has been a concern throughout his career, Robert is certainly capable of a bounce-back campaign hitting in the middle of a potentially potent Mets lineup.
