Gomber (5-12) took the loss against St. Louis on Wednesday, allowing four runs on seven hits and no walks while striking out three batters over five innings.

Gomber kept the ball in the park after serving up three homers in his previous outing, but he was still far less than sharp. The veteran left-hander gave up at least four runs in three of his final six starts and went 1-4 over that span. Assuming Wednesday was his final start of the season, Gomber will finish the 2024 campaign with an uninspiring 4.75 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 116:38 K:BB over 165 innings.

Helsley earned a save Wednesday, inducing a double play on the only pitch he threw against the Rockies.

St. Louis carried a 5-1 lead into the bottom of the ninth frame, but Matthew Liberatore gave up a leadoff homer to Brenton Doyle and issued a one-out walk to Michael Toglia to prompt Helsley's entrance in a save situation. Helsley didn't take long to extinguish Colorado's hopes of a comeback, as Sam Hilliard grounded into a game-ending double play on the right-hander's first pitch. The save was Helsley's league-leading 48th of the campaign, and he has an outside chance of reaching 50 with four games remaining on St. Louis' schedule.

Fedde (9-9) earned the win over Colorado on Wednesday, allowing one run on six hits and one walk while striking out 10 batters over seven innings.

Fedde racked up 14 whiffs en route to his 10 punchouts, his most since he fanned 11 batters against the Twins on April 23. The right-hander picked up his second straight quality start, and he gave up two earned runs or fewer in five of his final seven outings. If Fedde doesn't pitch again this season, as expected, he'll finish the campaign with career-best marks in wins (nine), ERA (3.30), WHIP (1.16) and strikeouts (154) while tallying a career-high 31 starts and 177.1 innings.

Burger went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run and a double in a loss to the Twins on Wednesday.

Miami got off to a fiery start Wednesday, as Burger's three-run homer was one of five straight baserunners for the team to open the contest. However, the Marlins didn't score over the remaining eight frames, and Burger struck out in three of his remaining four at-bats (though he also recorded a double). The slugger has gone deep four times in his past eight games and needs one more long ball to reach 30 for the second straight season.

Cabrera allowed three runs (one earned) on four hits and one walk while striking out five batters over five innings in a no-decision against Minnesota on Wednesday.

Cabrera's own error led to two unearned runs in the third inning, and he served up a solo shot to Byron Buxton in the fourth. The most impressive part of the right-hander's outing was his 16 swinging strikes, though they led to a modest five punchouts. Cabrera didn't get the win, but this was a vast improvement over his previous start, when he gave up seven runs over 2.1 frames against the Dodgers.

Rojas was removed from Wednesday's game against the Padres due to left groin tightness.

Rojas seemed to tweak something in his leg while rounding third base and running back to the bag in the fourth inning, and he was replaced on defense once Los Angeles took the field to begin the fifth. The Dodgers will take a closer look at him in the clubhouse and should have more information on the severity of his injury in the near future, though Tommy Edman may be in line for more reps at shortstop if Rojas needs to miss any amount of time.

Herz (4-9) took the loss against the Royals on Wednesday, allowing one run on three hits and three walks with three strikeouts over five innings.

Herz threw 52 of 81 pitches for strikes and yielded just one run in the third inning, but the Nationals' offense wasn't able to muster any support for the rookie. While he endured a seven-run disaster in his most recent outing prior to Wednesday, the southpaw yielded just two earned runs across 15 innings in his other three September starts. He'll finish his first season with a 4.16 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and an impressive 10.8 K/9 across 88.2 innings.

Stott went 3-for-4 with a double, two RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base in Wednesday's 9-6 win over the Cubs.

Stott set the tone early in this one, ripping a two-run double in the opening frame to extend the Phillies' lead to 3-0. Stott set a new career high with his 32nd stolen base of the season in the seventh inning, besting last year's total of 31. The 26-year-old speedster owns a modest .246 average with 11 home runs, 56 RBI and 65 runs scored with 32 steals in 35 attempts in 145 games.

Junis did not factor into the decision in Wednesday's 5-2 loss to the Guardians, allowing two runs on four hits and one walk with three strikeouts over five innings.

Junis shook off a leadoff homer by Steven Kwan and mostly pitched well, throwing 48 of 72 pitches for strikes. The 32-year-old has completed at least five innings while yielding two earned runs or fewer in each of his last four starts. He'll finish the season with a 2.69 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and 51:8 K:BB across 67 innings with the Brewers and Reds.

Castellanos went 3-for-4 with a solo home run, a double, and two additional runs scored in Wednesday's win over the Cubs.

Castellanos helped the Phillies clinch a first-round bye and home-field in the NLDS with his big performance. He belted his 30th double of the season in the opening frame before launching a solo home run off Javier Assad in the third inning to give the Phillies a 4-0 advantage. Castellanos is currently riding a seven-game hitting streak, batting .500 with five extra-base hits, five RBI and seven runs scored during that stretch. The 32-year-old has played in all 159 contests for the Phillies this season, slashing .253/.310/.428 with 23 home runs, 86 RBI, 79 runs scored and six stolen bases.
