The Nationals recalled Nunez from Triple-A Rochester on Saturday.

Nunez wasn't able to make the Nationals' Opening Day roster despite a strong showing in spring training, but he'll be called up to the big club following the placement of CJ Abrams (hip) on the 10-day injured list. Nunez was slashing .192/.323/.192 with five stolen bases and three RBI across 31 plate appearances in Triple-A before his promotion to the majors.

The Nationals placed Abrams on the 10-day injured list Saturday due to a right hip flexor strain.

Abrams missed two games earlier in the week due to a right hip issue, and he aggravated the injury while stealing second base against the Marlins on Friday. He was evaluated by Nationals' medical staff Saturday, and it was determined that the severity of the injury warranted his placement on the injured list, though manager Davey Martinez appeared optimistic that Abrams won't need more than the minimum stint on the IL, per Bobby Blanco of MASN Sports. In Abrams' absence, the Nationals could turn to Paul DeJong to slide over from third base to shortstop, which would give Jose Tena and Amed Rosario more opportunities to get some starts at the hot corner. Nasim Nunez was recalled from Triple-A Rochester in a corresponding move, and he could see some reps in the infield due to Abrams' absence.

Torrens is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Athletics.

Torrens went 1-for-5 with an RBI and three strikeouts in his return from a forearm injury that caused him to miss four games. Hayden Senger will take his place behind the dish Saturday and bat ninth.

Winker isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Athletics.

Saturday will be the fourth straight game Winker has missed following a 5-for-24 start at the plate. All of his reps have been going to Starling Marte, who will work as New York's DH on Saturday while batting fifth.

Taylor isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Athletics.

After starting the season with a .308 OPS through 26 plate appearances, Taylor will get another day off Saturday to regroup while Jose Siri starts in center field and bats eighth.

The Reds activated Abbott (shoulder) from the 15-day injured list Saturday.

Abbott began the season on the injured list due to a rotator cuff strain in his left shoulder that put an early end to his 2024 campaign. He made two rehab starts with Triple-A Louisville and has progressed enough in his throwing program to make his 2025 regular-season debut Saturday against the Pirates. Will Benson was optioned to Triple-A to make room for Abbott on the 26-man roster.

Arcia is not in Atlanta's starting lineup against Tampa Bay on Saturday.

Arcia went 0-for-4 in Friday's series opener, and he'll begin Saturday's contest in the dugout while Nick Allen gets the start at shortstop. Arcia has started the season slashing .208/.240/.250 with one RBI across 25 plate appearances.

Jacob struck out two batters in a perfect inning in relief against Colorado on Friday.

Jacob closed out the contest for San Diego, pitching the ninth inning in the 8-0 win. He was efficient and effective, throwing 11 of his 15 pitches for strikes. Friday snapped a string of three straight relief outings in which Jacob worked over one inning, though he hasn't gone past two frames in an appearance this year. He's off the fantasy radar since he's not frequently used in high-leverage situations and doesn't have big strikeout stuff, but Jacob has held his own so far this season with a 3.12 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 5:3 K:BB over 8.2 innings.

The Reds optioned Benson to Triple-A Louisville on Saturday, Charlie Goldsmith of the Dayton Daily News reports.

Benson was recalled by the Reds on Tuesday and started in left field against the Giants on Wednesday, when he struck out in all four at-bats. Benson will return to Triple-A as Cincinnati activates Andrew Abbott (shoulder) from the 15-day injured list in a corresponding move.

The Cardinals reinstated Gorman (hamstring) from the injured list Saturday, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

A strained right hamstring has kept Gorman out of action since the beginning of April. The Cardinals likely would have preferred to send the 24-year-old out on a rehab assignment before activating him, but Masyn Winn's (back) move to the IL on Saturday created an urgent need for infield depth on the big-league roster. Gorman's easiest path to playing time is likely at second base or designated hitter, though he isn't expected to have a regular role at either position.
