Elder took a no-decision versus the Twins on Friday, allowing four runs on six hits and three walks while striking out three over five innings.

Elder didn't have much going for him throughout this start, which saw Minnesota take a four-run lead in the fourth inning. Atlanta rallied back, and its five-run eighth inning was enough to get Elder off the hook. The right-hander has allowed at least three runs in all three of his starts this season, pitching to a 7.20 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and 10:5 K:BB over 15 innings. It's not the start to the year he needed after struggling with a 6.52 ERA and 1.63 WHIP in 2024. He remains in the rotation for now and is tentatively lined up for a home start versus the Cardinals next week, but Atlanta may have to explore other options if Elder can't turn things around soon.

Peterson didn't factor into the decision Friday against the Cardinals after allowing three runs on seven hits and no walks in 5.1 innings. He struck out nine.

The nine punchouts matched a season high, and just one of Peterson's nine hits allowed went for extra bases. The left-hander has upped his strikeout rate a bit to begin the season, fanning 26 over 22 innings, and he should maintain a rotation spot as long as Sean Manaea (oblique), Frankie Montas (lat) and Paul Blackburn (knee) are all on the shelf. Peterson has a serviceable 3.27 ERA and 1.36 WHIP across four starts this season, but he's in line for a difficult assignment in next week's scheduled outing against the Phillies.

Mikolas didn't factor into the decision Friday against the Mets after allowing two runs on five hits and two walks in 4.2 innings. He struck out one.

Despite allowing at least one baserunner in three of his first four innings he pitched, Mikolas was able to put up zeroes through four. The Mets chased him from the game in the fifth, however, as Tyrone Taylor tripled and Juan Soto singled to drive in one run apiece. The soft-throwing right-hander doesn't exhibit much strikeout upside, as evidenced by his 11 punchouts through 17.2 innings to go with an unsightly 7.64 ERA and 1.58 WHIP this season, so Mikolas won't project as an appealing fantasy option in next week's scheduled start at home against Milwaukee.

Rea didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 13-11 win over the Diamondbacks, giving up one run on five hits while striking out five batters across 4.2 innings. He did not issue a walk.

At 4.2 innings, Friday marked Rea's longest outing of the season as he continues to re-adjust to life as a starter after opening the year in the bullpen. He carried a shutout into the fifth inning but was pulled shortly after allowing an RBI single to Corbin Carroll -- well before the Diamondbacks' bats erupted for 10 runs in the eighth. With Javier Assad (oblique) nearing a return from the IL, it's unclear if Rea will get another chance to start or return to the bullpen, but his place in the rotation is due up again next Friday against the Phillies.

Schwarber went 1-for-3 with one walk and a solo homer in Friday's 7-2 win over Miami.

Schwarber extended the Phillies' lead to seven runs in the fifth inning when he took Anthony Veneziano deep to right-center field for a solo homer. It was Schwarber's seventh long ball of the season and fourth since the beginning of April. He's slashing .286/.438/.629 with 17 walks, one stolen base, 17 runs and 15 RBI across 89 plate appearances to start the season.

Harper went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer in Friday's 7-2 win over the Marlins.

Harper put the Phillies on the board in the first inning when he took Sandy Alcantara deep to right field for a 418-foot, two-run home run. Harper is up to five home runs on the season, three of which have come over his last four games. He's slashing .264/.404/.500 with a 17:17 BB:K, four stolen bases, 14 runs scored and 11 RBI across 89 plate appearances.

Wade will start at first base and bat ninth Friday against the Angels, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Wade was originally due to get a day off Friday against left-handed starter Tyler Anderson, but an injury to Casey Schmitt (side) will force the 31-year-old back into the starting nine. Wade is 0-for-4 against southpaws so far this season and owns a .559 OPS against them across his big-league career.

Schmitt was scratched from the lineup ahead of Friday's game versus the Angels due to left side tightness, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

The Giants haven't provided any details on the severity of Schmitt's injury, but it's enough to warrant a day off Friday to recover. His absence will put LaMonte Wade at first base against a left-handed starter.

Wheeler (2-1) earned the win against the Marlins on Friday, allowing two runs on five hits while striking out 13 in seven innings. He did not issue a walk.

Wheeler needed only 96 pitches (69 strikes) to make it through seven innings while generating 20 whiffs. The only blemish came in the sixth inning, when he gave up a two-run homer to Eric Wagaman, but Wheeler rebounded in the seventh by striking out the side. It was the second time Wheeler has fanned 10 batters or more in game this season, and his 13 strikeouts were the second most of his major-league career. He leads the National League with 41 strikeouts and is second in the majors behind Cole Ragans (42). Wheeler is lined up to face the Mets at Citi Field next week, where he'll look to earn a second straight win.

Wagaman went 1-for-3 with one walk and a two-run home run in Friday's 7-2 loss to Philadelphia.

Wagaman struck out in each of his first two at-bats, but he registered his second home run of the season when he took Zack Wheeler deep to left-center field for a 427-foot, two-run moonshot. Wagaman is in the midst of a six-game hitting streak, during which he's gone 8-for-18 with two walks, five runs scored, one home run and four RBI.
